| Modeling of Technologically Hanged Rocks at the Quarry Face | Author : Oluwaseyi A. O. | Kutelu B. J. | Fakolade O. R. | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Rock fall is the act of releasing pieces of rock from bedrock slopes provoked by environmental factors, such as physical and chemical weathering, and vibration caused by rock blasting. The evaluation of the rate at which pieces of rock are released from the Quarrys bench face through modeling in order to prevent possible accidents is necessary. The method used for this investigation involves taking field measurements of the slope height, slope angle, length and width of the bench. Rock samples were also taken from the field to the laboratory to carry out tests to determine the density, friction angle and slope roughness of the rock. With this, the models were made with rock fall program. The zone of the Quarry face prune to affectation by Rock fall was predicted to be 15 m from the bottom crest of the IBD Quarry bench face that was occupied by rock pile and 6.5 m for a face without pile. Also, total kinetic, translational and rotational energies of the falling rocks were modeled at different points of the face the bounce height and end point were determined. Oluwaseyi A. | A Literally Review on Arbuda | Author : Dr. Pramod Shinde | Dr. Asma | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Lifestyle diseases pose a significant challenge to our society today, and they are mainly caused by unhealthy dietary habits, poor food choices, and lack of physical activity. Arbuda is the Ayurvedic term used to describe cancer and other malignancies. In Ayurveda, lifestyle diseases are attributed to Viruddha "Ahara" and "Vihara" food and lifestyle . The concept of Arbuda is based on the understanding that cancer is a result of an imbalance in the bodys doshas that disrupts the normal functioning of the bodys tissues and organs. Ayurveda can offer additional curative steps for cancers that bear similarities with clinical entities of Arbuda and Granthi mentioned in Sushrutha Samhita. Ayurvedic medicine has a long history of treating cancer, and its approach is based on a holistic understanding of the body, mind, and spirit. Cancers of the prostate, breast, lung, and colon are more common in the Western world and less prevalent in the Eastern world. Ayurvedic therapies for cancer focus on restoring balance and harmony to the body, boosting immunity, and eliminating the underlying causes of the disease. | Efficacy of ITI 007 Related with Mood Regulation and Mental Disorder | Author : Ms. Bhusare Kalpana Marutirao | Mr. Salvi Ajay Sanjay | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Schizophrenia imposes a heavy burden on both the individual and society. A wide range of symptoms, including as psychosis, hallucinations, delusions, and associated positive feelings, as well as difficulties in social functioning, cognitive problems, and, frequently, debilitating mood disorders like chronic depression, are used to describe the disease. Often, lifelong medication is necessary for the diseases management. A novel antipsychotic drug called lumateperone ITI 007, CAPLYTATM was discovered and created by Intra Cellular Therapies, Inc. ITCI and was authorized for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults in December 2019. Serotonin, dopamine, and glutamate neurotransmission, three important neurotransmitters linked to schizophrenia, are simultaneously modulated by lumateperone. The US Food and Drug Administration has authorized its use. Patients with treatment resistant schizophrenia and those who are at risk of developing metabolic dysfunction should take into account using lumateperone abnormalities of movement. | Analysis the Effect of Structural Irregularities in Multistorey Earthquake Resistant Building | Author : Pramesh Pouranik | Prof. Afzal Khan | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Irregular structures, especially those in seismic areas, are a concern. Structures often have a network of discontinuities, and identification of individual discontinuities may not accurately predict the seismic response. The movement of the ground during an earthquake does not damage the building by impact or any other force, but affects the building by creating inertial forces resulting from the vibration of the large building. The size of the seismic lateral force mainly depends on the inertial mass of the building, ground acceleration and dynamic properties. To characterize the soil and its behavior, the model provides response spectra.Facade and planning irregularities are one of the most common types of irregularities in modern architecture. Functionality and beauty are the main reasons why this model is appreciated. These houses are very useful in big cities because the houses are close to each other. Buildings in these areas also have adequate sunlight and ventilation to enter the ground Use of Indian Standard Code IS 1893 2002 for Irregularities. Due to position of CG goes down, after providing the irregularity, the stability of building increases. After providing the irregularity, due to descreasement in loading, the value of maximum bending moment is decreases, so failure chances decreases. | Cure of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis Diseases in Natural Way without Medicine | Author : Dr. Pijush Kanti Bhattacharjee | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Human body skeleton is manufactured by different type of bones and joints. There is cartilage in joints to act the bone flexible and properly. The bone is mainly composed by calcium phosphate named hydroxyapatite and Type I collagen protein substances. The cartilage consists of Type II collagen protein and it is stimulated by calcium salts. Throughout the life of a human being, the bone has undergone by the process of bone formation, called osteoblastic function and bone resorption, called osteoclastic function. If the blood contains less amount of protein amino acids and acids, bone formation or growth takes place, i.e., calcium in the blood deposited on the bone otherwise bone resorption or destruction will happen, i.e., calcium from the bone goes to blood. Two common bone diseases appearing after middle age 35 40 years of a person are osteoporosis occurring due to decay of calcium from the bone, and osteoarthritis due to non function and decompose of cartilage in the bone joints. Human body cells are continuously growing multiplying and dying. The main constituent of a cell is protein substance. After crossing middle age 35 40 years of a person, the destruction rate of the cells is increased than the growth rate of the cells. As a result more protein is produced by the dead cells and the blood becomes enriched of protein when extra protein containing foods are taken from outside. If the blood contains more protein and acids, calcium is released by the bone and cartilage the person will suffer from osteoporosis or osteoarthritis. The allopathic physician prescribes calcium, vitamin D3 and physical exercise for these diseases, but these cannot afford recovery. In this paper, the complete cure of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis is enlightened by restricting intake protein and acid substances preferring alkaline foods from outside, since the protein available from the dead cells and other less protein containing foods is sufficient for body function and supplying energy. | Religious Diversity in Lesothos Secondary Religious Education Syllabus Genuine Inclusion or Superficial Tokenism | Author : Lehlohonolo Kurata | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Religious diversity has become an increasingly prevalent phenomenon worldwide, extending its impact to Lesotho as well. Lesotho accommodates a wide array of religious beliefs, encompassing Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and indigenous religions. In response to this burgeoning religious landscape, the prominence of Religious Education RE in Lesothos schools has grown, with the current secondary RE syllabus incorporating a theme on religious diversity. While the inclusion of this theme represents a positive step toward addressing societal continuous transformation, a critical evaluation of the genuineness of this theme is imperative. Therefore, this study employs a qualitative case study approach grounded in the theory of knowledge constitutive interests to scrutinize the authenticity and efficacy of the theme of religious diversity within the syllabus. For data collection, document analysis is utilized to examine the RE syllabus, while purposive sampling facilitated the selection of two syllabus components Learning outcomes and Suggested learning experiences. Findings emanating from the analysis revealed that while certain aspects of the religious diversity theme strive to foster an authentic portrayal of religious diversity, a portion of the theme falls short in providing substantive content or meaningful engagement. As a consequence, this study suggests that the review of the RE syllabus should ensure its alignment with the evolving understanding of religious diversity and its continued relevance to Lesothos religious context. | Analysis and Modeling of Steel Square Hollow Beam to Square Hollow Column Joint | Author : Md Faisal Iqbal | Prof. Afzal Khan | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Most of the steel structures in India are made of conventional steel sections such as angle, channel and beam sections . However, new hollow steel sections such as square and rectangular hollow sections are gaining popularity in recent steel constructions due to a number of advantages such as its higher strength to weight ratio, better fire resistance properties, higher radius of gyration, lesser surface area, etc. This type of hollow sections can save cost up to 30 to 50 over the conventional steel sections. But unlike the conventional steel sections these hollow sections do not have standard connection details available in design code or in published literature. To overcome this problem the objective of the present study was identified to develop a suitable and economic connection detail between two square hollow sections which should be capable of transmitting forces smoothly and easy to be fabricated To achieve the above objective, a square hollow beam to square hollow column connection was selected and modeled in commercial finite element software ABAQUS. This model was analyzed for nonlinear static pushover analysis considering a number of connection details. Following four alternative scheme of connection details were selected for this study i using end plate, ii using angle section, iii using channel sections, and iv using collar plates. The base model rectangular hollow beam welded to one face of the rectangular hollow column is also studied for reference. The performance of the selected connection details are compared and the best performing connection details is recommended for rectangular hollow beam to rectangular hollow column joints. The result shows that the load carrying capacity of the joint and the maximum deformation capacity is highly sensitive to the type of connection used. Also, the location of formation of plastic hinges in the structure which can be at joint or at beam depends highly on the type of connection used. | She cession The Gendered Impact of COVID 19 | Author : Ahona Halder | Subhangi Dey | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The COVID 19 Pandemic has made the world witness a sharp decline in the employment rates, but what is more concerning is that it has caused a "she cession". A she cession is an economic downturn where job and income losses adversely affect women more than men. As per empirical evidence, the she cession isnt just lingering, but is getting worse. So, a comprehensive approach that addresses the root causes of the she cession and thereby paves the way for a she covery is crucial. Turning the she cession into she covery is even more challenging in developing countries like India, where women face discrimination on a wide range of grounds. Though, it might take a lot of time to achieve gender parity in the workforce, but with the implementation of certain policies and practices, the world will eventually converge towards a she covery situation. | Enhancing Resilience of Transportation Networks A Topological Analysis of Extreme Climatic Events | Author : Ali Raza | Dr. Esar Ahmad | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In light of the escalating frequency and intensity of extreme climatic events, evaluating and improving the resilience of transportation networks has become paramount for sustainable infrastructure development. This investigation presents a comprehensive methodology to assess network resilience and compare measures across different systems, considering both existing and upgraded infrastructure. The current prevailing uncertainty surrounding extreme climatic events often compels transportation agencies to resort to over engineered designs or, regrettably, to disregard necessary preparations due to the exorbitant costs associated with potential hazards. However, armed with pertinent data derived from this study, decision makers and legislators can make informed choices in allocating resources efficiently to critical locations, thereby enabling a more feasible and well considered response to climatic hazards. By leveraging hurricane storm surge simulation results, transportation agencies can accurately identify the most critical network components responsible for maintaining seamless network flow. Rather than undertaking a complete and expensive system overhaul, agencies can now prioritize targeted replacements and structural updates with ease. Furthermore, this approach facilitates the identification of network nodes that are most vulnerable to specific hazards, enabling planners to incorporate these vulnerabilities into long term planning strategies. The research underscores the effectiveness of utilizing topological graph properties to track network response, making it a valuable tool for investigations into the resilience of transportation networks. By examining the nodes most impacted by the envelope simulation, planners can develop strategies that integrate and mitigate these vulnerabilities, thereby enhancing the overall resilience of the transportation system. Microbial flora in the retting water were isolated, characterized and identified as Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella aerogenes, Enterobacter aerogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Lactobacillus coryneformis, Candida tropicalis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Aspergillus sp and Rhizopus sp. The isolates were tested for their ability to ret the tubers and four isolates retted the tubers completely. Two organisms Lactobacillus coryneformis and Saccharomyces cerevisiae were used as starter cultures to ret the tubers as single cultures and mixed cultures to produce wet fufu samples F1 Lactobacillus coryneformis alone, F2 Saccharomyces cerevisiae alone, and F3 mixture of Lactobacillus coryneformis and Saccharomyces cerevisiae . The three fufu mashes produced were each dried in the oven at 65oC for 72 hours. They were crushed to powder and sieved, and assessed for their protein and cyanide contents. The percentage crude protein contents were 9.43, 9.75 and 10.20 respectively and their cyanide contents were 0.028, 0.020 and 0.017mg g respectively. The samples were aseptically packaged in cellophane bags. They lasted for six months without loosing their organoleptic qualities. Sensory evaluation of the samples accepts all the samples with most preference to F3. Therefore to enable long time storage of fufu with low cyanide and improved protein contents, starter cultures can be used to ferment the tubers and the wet mash aseptically oven dried, crushed and sieved to fufu powder. | Peritoneal Carcinomatosis A Case Report | Author : Mrs. Karpagam | Govinda Raj U | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Peritoneal carcinomatosis represents a devastating form of cancer progression with a very poor prognosis. Its complex pathogenesis is represented by a dynamic process comprising several steps. To the best of our knowledge pathogenesis can be partly explained by 3 major molecular pathways 1 dissemination from the primary tumor 2 primary tumor of peritoneum and 3 independent origins of the primary tumor and peritoneal implants. These are not mutually exclusive and combinations of different mechanisms could occur inside a single case. There are still several aspects which need explanation by future studies. A comprehensive understanding of molecular events involved in peritoneal carcinomatosis is of paramount importance and should be systematically pursued not only to identify novel strategies for the prevention of the condition, but also to obtain therapeutic advances, through the identification of surrogate markers of prognosis and development of future molecular targeted therapies. | Development and Nutritional Assessment of Red Rice Oryza Longistaminata Based Muffins | Author : Srushti Patel | Dr. Sury Pratap Singh | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The present research development of gluten free red rice muffins was carried out at the Department of Food Technology, Parul Institute of Applied Sciences, Parul University, Vadodara. The main objective of the study was to develop gluten free muffins. Red rice is a type of whole grain rice that is high in antioxidants, bioactive compounds, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. The main goal of this study was to develop muffins that are fully nutritious. These muffins can be a great option for those who have gluten intolerance or celiac disease, as well as for anyone looking for a healthier breakfast or snack option. The key ingredient of these muffins was red rice flour and jaggery powder. And other ingredients were milk, vegetable oil, cocoa powder baking powder, baking soda, vanilla essence and lemon juice. Twenty different formulations were prepared and T20 treatment was found to be the best formulation after sensory evaluation with 9 hedonic point scale. Then further chemical analysis was done in the developed muffins. It showed 17.8 moisture content, 2.2 Ash content, 7 protein content, 8.94 fat content, 83.55 carbohydrates content, 0.4 fiber and 340.9 kcal 100g. The mineral content of muffins was Calcium 14, Magnesium 11.26, Iron 5.12 and Zinc 1.85 . During the 7 days of storage trials, red rice muffins showed an increase in moisture content but ash, fat and protein contents decreased significantly at ambient and refrigeration temperatures. An increase in moisture may be due to the permeability of air and a decrease in fat and protein may be due to the oxidation of fat and denaturation of proteins. Better retention of nutrients was noted for refrigeration temperature. Hence could be preserved for a longer time. FT IR analysis showed the wavenumbers 928 cm 1, 2935 cm 1 and 1646 cm 1 which represent HC=CH, methyl CH3, and C O peak of ester and phenol was observed accordingly. Thus, the developed red rice muffins have improved nutritional value and should be suggested to individuals of all ages. | Experimental Investigation on Properties of Concrete using Marble Dust Powderand Sugarcane Bagasse Ash SCBA as Partial Replacement of Fine Aggregate and Cement | Author : Radha Sariyam | Prof. Pawan Dubey | Prof. Rakesh Sakale | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Marble dust is described by its fine surface, like that of crushed limestone. Since marble is a harder, crystallized rock, the residue isnt included delicate particles. The residue likewise has a slight shimmer to it because of the crystallized particles, and it can also be discolored with brown, dark, yellow, pink or even greenish particles because of pollutions in the original marble. Hence, as a solution to the above mentioned issue, it can be used as an aggregate in concrete depending on its property. Utilization of agricultural waste and industrial products for construction has been heart of exploration for economical and environmental reasons. Experimental investigations were performed to study the strength properties of M 25 grade of concrete mix, with partially replaced sand with Marble dust MD with 10 SCBA with cement. | Emerging Trends in Adaptive Clinical Trial Designs Benefits and Limitations | Author : A. Shireesha | Kavya Kalva | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Adaptive clinical trial designs have gained significant attention in recent years due to their potential to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical research. These innovative trial designs offer the flexibility to modify study parameters based on accumulating data, thus enabling researchers to make informed decisions in real time. This review article explores the emerging trends in adaptive clinical trial designs, delving into their benefits and limitations. The benefits of adaptive trial designs include the ability to shorten study duration, reduce sample size requirements, and enhance patient safety by allowing adaptations based on interim results. Adaptive trials also enable researchers to address multiple study objectives within a single trial, making them a valuable tool for exploring multiple treatment strategies simultaneously. Additionally, these designs facilitate the incorporation of new information and treatments as they become available, ensuring that patients receive the most relevant and effective interventions. Despite their potential advantages, adaptive trial designs come with certain challenges and limitations. The need for sophisticated statistical methods, complex trial logistics, and potential operational hurdles can pose difficulties during trial execution. Furthermore, regulatory considerations and the need for rigorous control over the adaptation process require careful planning and clear communication with regulatory authorities. In this review, we discuss various adaptive trial design types, such as group sequential designs, sample size re estimation, adaptive randomization, and Bayesian adaptive designs. We also highlight real world examples of successful adaptive trials in different therapeutic areas and discuss the key considerations for implementing these designs effectively. A. | Expression of Underlying Conflicts through Genitals A Comparative Analysis between Childhood and Adulthood | Author : Jisha P Mohammed | Thara Xavier | Babitha Mathew | Nithara George | Arun James | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This article explores the intriguing phenomenon of expressing underlying psychological conflicts through the genitals, comparing the manifestations between childhood and adulthood. Drawing insights from clinical studies and psychological research, the analysis reveals a fascinating interplay between the mind and the body. In childhood, emotions can manifest physically, often seen in instances such as bedwetting, which is linked to stress and insecurity. As individuals transition to adulthood, sexual dysfunctions like erectile dysfunction and vaginismus emerge as potential indicators of unresolved emotional conflicts. Despite the developmental differences, both stages demonstrate the bodys unique ability to communicate distress nonverbally. Recognizing these expressions holds clinical significance, offering early intervention opportunities for mental health professionals. Tailored therapeutic approaches, such as play therapy for children and cognitive behavioral therapy for adults, facilitate conflict resolution and potentially mitigate physical manifestations. Overall, understanding the connection between psychological turmoil and genital expression unveils a captivating dimension of human experience, highlighting the intricate relationship between our internal struggles and bodily reactions. | Experimental and Numerical Studies on Behaviour of FRP Strengthened Deep Beams with Openings | Author : Sourabh Gondly | Prof. Afzal Khan | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Reinforced concrete deep beams are widely used as transfer girders in offshore structures and foundations, walls of bunkers and load bearing walls in buildings. The presence of web openings in such beams is frequently required to provide accessibility such as doors and windows or to accommodate essential services such as ventilating and air conditioning ducts. Enlargement of such openings due to architectural mechanical requirements and or a change in the buildings function would reduce the elements shear capacity, thus rendering a severe safety hazard. Limited studies have been reported in the literature on the behavior and strength of RC deep beams with openings. When such enlargement is unavoidable adequate measures should be taken to strengthen the beam and counteract the strength reduction. The present experimental investigation deals with the study of deep beams containing openings and the validation of results with FEM model using ANSYS. A total of 5 deep beams with openings are casted without shear reinforcements and are tested under three point loading. Test specimen has a cross section of 150x460 mm and a total length of 1200 mm. Two circular openings, one in each shear span, are placed symmetrically about the mid point of the beam. The structural response of RC deep beams with openings was primarily dependent on the degree of the interruption of the natural load path. Externally bonded GFRP shear strengthening around the openings was found very effective in upgrading the shear strength of RC deep beams. The strength gain caused by the GFRP sheets was in the range of 68-125 . Finite element modeling of RC deep beams containing openings strengthened with GFRP sheets is studied using ANSYS and the results are compared with experimental findings. | A Study of Cement and Aggregate Replacement in Concrete using Glass Powder and Recycled Aggregate | Author : Manmohini Verma | Prof. Afzal Khan | Prof. Imran Ahmad Faizy | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :It has been estimated that several million tons of waste glasses are generated annually worldwide. The key sources of waste glasses are waste containers, window glasses, window screen, medicinal bottles, liquor bottles, tube lights, bulbs, electronic equipments etc. Only a part of this waste glass can be used in recycling. The remaining waste glass cannot be used for any purposes. But recently the research has shown that the waste glass can be effectively used in concrete either as glass aggregate as fine aggregate or as coarse aggregate or as a glass pozzolana. The waste glass when grounded to a very fine powder shows some pozzolanic properties. Therefore the glass powder to some extent can replace the cement and contribute to the strength development. In a growing country like India a huge amount of industrial waste is polluting the environment. With a view of the above, this study aims at utilization of such industrial by product for value added application. In addition the waste can improve the properties of construction materials. The recycled glass has been used in the form of powder. The glass powder was tested with concrete and mortar. Cement was replaced by the glass powder in some proportion. The flexural strength was conducted for the above replacements. The result showed glass powder improves the mechanical properties. The advantages of this project are that the replacement of glass powder is economically cheap as well as a superior concrete can be made.Concrete is the most widely used man made construction material in the world. The popularity of concrete is due to the fact that from the common ingredients the properties of concrete are tailored to meet the demand of any particular application and then most widely used in all types of civil engineering works including infrastructures, low and high rise buildings, defense developments. It is obtained by mixing cementing materials, water and aggregate. However, in recent years the wisdom of own continued wholesale extraction and use of aggregate from natural resources has been questioned at on an international level. This is mainly because of the depletion of quality primary aggregate and greater awareness of environmental protection. In light of this the availability of natural resource for future generations has also been realized. In fact, many governments throughout the world have now introduced various measures aimed at reducing the use of primary aggregates and increasing reuse and recycling where it is technically, economically or environmentally acceptable. The project explores a theme on the need for recycled aggregates and glass powder and highlights its potential use as aggregate and cement in new concrete construction. Research comprises of studies on offer of replacement of cement and aggregate by glass powder and recycled aggregate in concrete by some percentage for 28 days flexural strength of concrete. A result show that the flexural strength of recycled concrete gives higher results with 5 glass powder and 20 recycled aggregate and slightly lower result with 10 glass powder and 20 recycled aggregate and 20 glass powder and 10 recycled aggregate . | The Analysis of Female Views in Anita Desais Novel in Custody | Author : Nighat Ara | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The most well known Indian woman author in English after Indias independence, Anita Desai, focuses a lot of her writing on the issues of womens survival and existence. At this moment, the purpose of this piece is to examine how gender has shaped resistance. Anita Desai has been a strong representation of Indian womens lives, their battles against patriarchy, and colonial repression. The feminist consciousness of Desais In Custody permeates the entire book. This is the best indication of her comprehension of female psychology and experience. In In Custody, the male characters are confined to a life without success. Anita Desai condemns classical society and crisps on a deplorable male character Deven Sharma whose wife execrates his powerlessness to succeed economically. This article helps us to show how women change their ideas to make the lives successful or unsuccessful not only for them but also for their whole family. This article has been written in simple language so that people may understand the fact that how a women can make or mar the society by her capability of doing things. | A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Educational Package on Knowledge Regarding Most Common Congenital Heart Diseases and Their Management among Staff Nurses in Selected Pediatric Hospital at Lucknow | Author : Mr. Aarif Mohammad | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :A new baby is like beginning of all things wonder, hope, and dreams. The growth and development of human being is a continuous process that begins before birth. Babys heart begins to develop shortly after conception. There are several phases of the fetal hearts development. At first, the heart is just a tube which grows so fast that it needs more space, so it bends and twists back, forming the familiar shape. The next phase begins when the two atria are completely separate and the ventricles are just beginning to separate. Finally, the ventricles separate completely and the heart is developed. The Embryonic heart starts to beat at around 21 days after conception and then undergoes various stages of development and modification. | Investigating the Link Between Alzheimers Disease and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus | Author : Ashfaq Ahmad | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Within the body, enzymes play an essential role in maintaining the homeostasis. Inadequate actions of enzymes are linked to several illnesses. The primary attention on IDE as a protease enzyme involved in the degradation of insulin hormone and then has extended in last 20 years due to its numerous unique characters of the enzyme in relations to structure, function and sub cellular localization. Now evidence gradually supporting the idea that IDE might be participating in the human diseases pathogenesis like AD or T2DM. AD and T2DM are linked by the accumulation of protein aggregates called as amyloid fibrils. Despite the absence of sequence similarity between amyloidogenic proteins, all amyloid fibrils share a usual morphology, all have a ß-sheet structure and are unsolvable in physiological situations and are uninfluenced by proteolytic degradation. Thus, cells evolutionary developed systems to degrade amyloidogenic species before their accumulation. Molecular chaperones are one example of such system they help proper protein folding and stop the accumulation of misfolded proteins. | Homoeopathic Management of Hemoptysis | Author : Dr. Jinal Malani | Dr. Anjali R Gupta | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Coughing up blood, irrespective of the amount, is an alarming symptom and patients nearly always seek medical advice. Care should be taken to establish that it is true hemoptysis and not hematemesis, or gum or nose bleeding. Coughing out of blood includes both blood stained sputum and frank hemoptysis. Massive hemoptysis is defined as 600-800 mL of blood in 24 hours. Many episodes of hemoptysis remain unexplained, even after full investigation, and are likely to be due to simple bronchial infection. A history of repeated small hemoptysis, or blood streaking of sputum, is highly suggestive of lung cancer. Fever, night sweats and weight loss suggest tuberculosis. Pneumococcal pneumonia often causes rusty colored sputum but can cause frank hemoptysis, as can all suppurative pneumonic infections, including lung abscess. Bronchiectasis and intracavitary mycetoma can cause catastrophic bronchial hemorrhage, and in these patients there may be a history of previous tuberculosis or pneumonia in early life. Finally, pulmonary thromboembolism is a common cause of hemoptysis and should always be considered. Cardiothoracic nurses can alleviate emotional distress through empathetic communication, supportiveness, patient education, and empowering patients to be active participants in their care. Equally important is the support provided to families, who often experience significant stress and anxiety. Effective communication, coping strategies, and a family centred care approach are vital to assisting families during this challenging journey. Other than those, nurses themselves must employ coping strategies and self care to manage the emotional toll of their profession. Acknowledging and addressing the emotional needs of patients, families, and nurses alike is essential for holistic and compassionate cardiothoracic care. | Water Hammer Analysis in Long Pipelines | Author : Tomesh Kumar Sahu | Ashwini Bhoi | Kishor U. Farande | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Ca Hydraulic transient is a factor to be considered during structural design of water conveyance system. The most common hazardous situation is the uncontrolled pump trip due to power failure. Therefore, surge analysis is important for a water delivery project having long pipeline. Customized software WH 2.7 is used to solve the problem of surge in pipeline. Method of characteristics is widely used mathematical scheme for solving the phenomenon because of higher accuracy. The partial differential equations may be transformed by the method of characteristics into total differential equations. The later equations may then be integrated to yield finite differential equations which are conveniently handled numerically. This paper describes the problem of water hammer in long pipeline of lift irrigation scheme. The pumping station of lift irrigation scheme is located on riverbank and is to lift the water to the reservoir located at distance of 5.5 km through 1300mm diameter and 11 8 mm thickness mild steel pipeline. Three vertical turbine pumps each having capacity of delivering 0.937 m3 s total discharge capacity 2.8 m3 s and 43.24 m total head to irrigate the command area of 3300 ha. Continuous number of trials led to select combination of one air vessel of capacity 50 m3 and 10 Air Valves. Studies carried out helped to foresee advent conditions like column separation well in advance before implementation. This way it helps to finalize piping system incorporating anti surge devices like air vessel and air valves to keep the pipeline safe from water hammer due to power failure to the pumps and hence reliable operation for long run. | Auto Immune Disorders and Its Homoeopathic Approach | Author : Prof. (Dr.) Jatin Dhagat | Prof. (Dr.) Dhwanika Dhagat | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Each and Every human being living on this earth possesses a power to protect self from the external harmful environmental agents. This power is called Immunity. It is the ability of the body to resist the entry of different types of foreign bodies like bacteria, viruses, toxic substances etc. Initially the word Immunity was used to indicate a state of insusceptibility or complete resistance to infection. But in the light of modern concept immunity depends on various factors like host resistance, dosage and virulence of organism. The primary function of the Immune system is to protect an individual The Host against invasion of infectious agents. Normally the immune system is able to distinguish friend from foe ignoring the bodys own components and attacking foreign invaders. But in certain conditions this weapon turns against the self and causing severe illness and even death also such disorders are called as Auto Immune Disorders. In Autoimmune Diseases the Immune system reacts against self antigens and destroys host tissues. Antibodies against self antigens are termed as auto antibodies. | A Comparative Study of Human Resource Practices between Private and Public Sector Hospitals at Ranchi City A Road Map Analysis | Author : Pankaj Chatterjee | Dr. Somnath Roy Choudhury | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Human resources are the various categories of clinical and nonclinical staff members who are in charge of intervening in peoples and the publics health. The performance and benefits that the health system can provide depend in significant part on the knowledge, abilities, and motivation of the people who are in charge of providing health services, who are probably the most crucial of the systems inputs. Despite the extensive public healthcare system, the private sector still provides the majority of services, providing 60 of inpatient and 70 of outpatient services today. A variety of employees from many categories can be found working in hospitals that require multidisciplinary competency and knowledge. The paramedical personnel, nursing staff, and managerial cadre staff have all been observed to play a significant part in providing healthcare services. A hospital manager must be aware of the qualitative cum quantitative requirements of various departments and manage various aspects of people management in the appropriate way. However, the shrinking occupancy rates, increasing excess capacity, shorter patient hospital stays, and deterioration of the hospitals once holy image are all effects of the dynamic and complicated healthcare environment. Last but not least, quality of care is the most important issue facing the hospital sector in relation to insufficient and inappropriate patient treatment, healthcare customers preferences and choices, and is inextricably linked to concerns about organisational growth and performance. | Education and Women A Study | Author : Dr. Dharitri R Gohel | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Education cultivates brains so that a person can think. Since centuries woman had been denied education, consequently, they could not think and whatever they could, that was forced patriarchal thoughts. So it has become extremely important to study condition of woman in absence and presence of education. And if at all women are imparted with education is it making her confident enough to think about her self respect Or is that education allows her to find out real meaning of life Unfortunately, it seems as if woman is born to get marry and follow patriarchal norms imposed on her through woman advocate only. She is expected to give birth to children and bring them up to the requirements of the family. In the past, she was denied to educate herself because society did not find worth in imparting formal education to women as she is supposed to take care of her family only, and the short story Exercise Book by Rabindranath Tagore written probably in 1891 represents it well the same situation in different form is there even after 100 years in the story A Kitchen in the corner of the House by C.S. Laxmi written in around 1990s where educated women are preferred for marriage market but they do not have their say in any of the matters not even in food items to be cooked. And then the movie, English Vinglish, stating childrens expectation for parents to converse in English language and behave in English etiquettes, proves that even if a woman is handling her house hold chores perfectly, she is imperfect without education. It is interesting to study these three stories written in different time period. Studying the three stories as a journey of a woman on the pavement to school, Exercise Book proves to be a causey, A Kitchen in the Corner of the House, a road and English Vinglish a concrete highway. A journey indicating fear voice respect. But this is a beginning. | Optimization of Cutting Fluid using VIKOR Method | Author : Mohd Abbas | Mohd Parvez | Narayan Agarwal | Rahul Katna | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Cutting fluids are utilized extensively and are crucial components of industrial sectors. But those who work nearby in its environment face a major health risk because of its use. So only after neutralization should waste be disposed of, safeguarding both people and aquatic life. This results in choosing the best option that is both environmentally beneficial and secure for both people and aquatic life. It should also function on par with cutting fluid made of mineral oil. A framework has been provided in the current study to help decision makers choose and assess lubricants using the analytical hierarchical process AHP technique. Three cutting fluids€”Neem oil with a 5 emulsifier, Neem oil with a 10 emulsifier, and a typical mineral oil based cutting fluid have been explored as options in the research that has been offered. These have been assessed based on many important factors, such as tool wear, surface roughness, and tooltip temperature. The main goal of this work is to outline the rational selection procedure for a cutting fluid and to demonstrate how the ranking or selection of a cutting fluid can alter if a parameters priority is altered. | Educating for Life Enhancing Knowledge and Attitudes Towards Organ Donation among Engineering College Students in Ernakulam District, Kerala | Author : Anitta Jaison | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Organ donation constitutes the altruistic act of providing a human organ or tissue, either from a living or deceased individual to a recipient in need of transplantation. Organ transplantation stands as the most effective treatment option for individuals facing organ failure. Among the various transplantations performed worldwide, kidney transplantation stands out as the most frequent procedure, primarily due to the rising prevalence of end stage kidney disease ESKD among patients. Additionally, liver, heart, pancreas, lung, and intestine transplantations, though less common, offer life saving solutions for those afflicted by severe organ dysfunction. Notably, both developed and developing nations continue to witness a surge in chronic kidney disease and ESKD cases. This study explored the knowledge, awareness and attitude of engineering college students in Kerala. | Narratives on Lost Terrains A Neocolonialist Reading of Select Contemporary Fictions in Malayalam | Author : Dr. Sheethal S. Nair | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Neocolonialism, a term coined by Kwame Nkrumah, is defined as a covert project of the developed countries to exert their economic, political and cultural domination over the third world countries by making them follow blindly the ideas of development imposed by them and exploiting the land, labor and resources of these countries in a view of generating limitless profit. The paper studies two contemporary novels, Aathi 2011 and Swarga 2017 written by two renowned writer activists, Sarah Joseph and Ambikasuthan Mangadu of Kerala, and posits to underscore the prophetic vision in them that challenges the myopic ideas of development and the relentless ways of exploitation that are the hallmarks of neocolonialism. The paper also analyses the idea of the slow poisoning of nature that has been dexterously incorporated into the narratives, as a direct outcome of neocolonial endeavors. The paper also argues that by taking up the concept of bio imperialism into the ambit of its discourse, the writers have set a wake up call for all the stakeholders to be vigilant in their engagement with neocolonial forces.
