Teaching Method in Building Construction Programme and the Development of Students’ Vocational Skills in Technical High Schools in Cameroon | Author : Samkea Ferdinand Fofuleng | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Technical High Schools in Cameroon are agencies that aim at empowering students with vocational skills that will enable them to be self employed and boost socio economic development. This study was to look at the influence of teaching method as a component of building construction programme on the development of students’ vocational skills in technical high schools in Cameroon. The study used the cross sectional descriptive survey research design in a concurrent triangulation mixed method approach, and targeted five technical high schools in Fako Division and four in the Wouri division. The sample was made up of 83 teachers and 268 students. The data collection instruments were questionnaires for teachers and students and an observation guide for teachers in the flame of classroom activities. Quantitative data were entered using EpiData Version 3.1 and analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS Standard version, Release 21.0. The questionnaire was made of categorical variables and data were analysed using counting techniques namely frequency and proportions while Multiple Responses Analysis was used to aggregate score within conceptual components. Spearman’s Rho correlation test supported by Binary Logistic Regression was used to appraise the predictive power of teaching method on students’ acquisition of vocational skills. The findings unfold that teachers and students had almost the same appreciation of teaching methods P=0.313 , though teachers to a very high extent 78.3 perceived the adequacy of teaching method more than students 72.7 . Though in their majority they agreed of the proper implementation, this was below the critical cut point for strong lexicography for effective implementation of 80 . However, this deviation was not significant for teachers 2=0.04 df=1 P=0.849 unlike for students 2=3.73 df=1 P=0.049 . This therefore implies that if teachers perceived an effective implementation of teaching methods, this was the case with the students. With respect to the acquisition of vocational skills, teachers and students had almost the same appreciation P=0.146 . In their majority, they agreed though below the critical cut point for strong lexicography for effective implementation of 80 . However, this deviation was not significant for teachers 2=1.19 df=1 P=0.276 and for students 2=0.40 df=1 P=0.526 . This therefore implies that teachers and students perceived the acquisition of vocational skills to be effective. There was a significant positive correlation between the practiced of the recommended teaching methods and acquisition of vocational skills by students R=0.826 P=0.000 . This was supported by Binary Logistic Regression that depicted that the overall Explanatory Power for the Integrated Value Mapping IVM of the conceptual component ‘teaching method’ was 18.4 and was very significant P=0.000 . Among the four sub components of teaching methods, namely explicit teaching, interactive demonstration method, cooperative learning and project method, only cooperative teaching had a non significant contribution P=0.744 . It was recommended that industries should support technical vocational education institutions by providing industrial attachment programmes for students. Secondly, stakeholders, notably parents, industries, government and donors should contribute in providing modern adequate training equipment and teachers. Building construction teachers should use practically oriented teaching methods like cooperative leaning, simulation and project based teaching, integrating several teaching methods in a lesson in a conducive sequential organization and parental collaborations in order to achieve the desired result of developing students’ vocational skills necessary for the world of work. Today, organic production is a combination of new technology and traditional methods. Numerous consumers confronted with increasing environmental problems, food safety issues, and augmentative health problems increasingly desire to have healthier and more natural foods grown in an eco friendly manner. The present study was conducted in Bengaluru urban and rural districts of Karnataka because Bengaluru is one of the major vegetable producing districts of south Karnataka. In recent years large numbers of farmers started practicing the organic cultivation of vegetables in the district. The study aims to investigate factors influencing towards adoption of organic farming, costs of cultivation involved in practicing organic and inorganic farming of selected vegetables viz., tomato, brinjal, cauliflower and cucumber, Consumers willingness to pay WTP for organic vegetables and relevant factors affecting consumers WTP, different supply chains involved in organic and inorganic vegetables marketing and analysis of marketing efficiency, price spread, producer’s share in consumer’s rupee in each supply chain and constraints involved in production and marketing of organic and inorganic vegetables. For the study, 45 farmers each practicing organic and inorganic cultivation of cucumber spread over the district of Bengaluru rural were selected randomly. The data collected from respondents was analysed using budgeting technique and Cobb Douglas Production Function analysis according to the objectives. The results indicated that costs of cultivation of organic vegetables is more compared to inorganic because of increasing costs of organic inputs in all selected vegetables. Resource use efficiency is higher in the case of organic vegetables than that of inorganic. Farmers are realizing high price premium for the organic vegetables and higher net returns. A positive response and willingness to pay for organic vegetables as increasing health conscious of consumers was observed in metropolitan city like Bengaluru. Hence, it is advisable for the farmers to switch over to organic farming which minimizes the environmental degradation and brings higher net returns. | Performance of Hasty and Consistent Multi Spectral Iris Segmentation using Deep Learning | Author : Ram Niwas Sharma | Ankit Kumar Navalakha | Neha Sharma | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The recognition system is composed of seven phases acquisition, preprocessing, segmentation, normalization, feature extraction, feature selection, and classification. In the acquisition phase, iris images are captured, followed by preprocessing to enhance the quality of the images. The segmentation phase involves separating the iris region from the background, and the normalized iris region is shaped into a rectangle in the normalization phase. Iris segmentation is a critical step in iris recognition systems and has a direct impact on authentication and recognition results. However, standard segmentation techniques may not perform well in noisy iris databases captured under challenging conditions. Moreover, the lack of large iris databases hinders the performance improvement of convolution neural networks. The proposed method addresses these challenges by effectively handling irregular iris images captured under visible light. The iris region is processed and evaluated to generate a unique feature vector, which is then used for person identification. VGG16, a well known deep learning model, is employed for image classification, and the feature vector is fed into VGG16 for classification purposes. | Studying Social Justice of Taxes in Legal System of Afghanistan | Author : Noor Mohammad Hashmat | Abdul Malek Sididqi | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Tax justice is very important to the legitimacy of the tax system in Afghanistan. On the one hand, any taxes cannot be derived from the people without a legal basis, and on the other hand, the taxes should be fair and reasonable. Regarding taxes in Afghanistan, it seems that in some cases, the taxes consisting of direct and indirect taxes are not justifiable. The very major examples are the VAT Value Added Tax , the tax on credit cards, and some tax on income in the legal system of Afghanistan. During determining tax, the tax authorities should evaluate the life and characteristics of taxpayers to determine whether they have the ability to pay tax or not. These are the concerns regarding the social justice of taxes. So, we are trying to find the response to this question Is social justice respected and observed in the tax legal system of Afghanistan No doubt, in some cases, the taxes in Afghanistan are not rightful. The economic conditions of people are not equal. Most people in Afghanistan are very poor. As a result, tax authorities should assess peoples living conditions. In addition, the government should codify fair taxes for the people. The method of the research will be descriptive and analytical. The method of collecting data is librarianship. We reviewed books, articles, magazines, and the national laws of Afghanistan. | The Dynamics of Relationship between Colonial Modernity and Education in Kerala | Author : Dr. Rekha P | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The foundation of modern education was laid down in Kerala as part of the colonial discourse. It is necessary to understand the dynamics of relationship between education and colonialism. The development of education under colonial rule was to legitimize their domination and to serve their own economic needs. Education in Kerala was designed by the colonial plans. Economic, political and cultural control over the subjected society was essential for the survival of colonial rule and education was used to achieve this goal. Attempts were made to develop, through education, a new set of values and justification of the colonial rule. As a result, education of Kerala loses its traditional and independent identity and becomes subordinate to political power. | Domestic Issues Faced by the LGBTQ Community in India A Game Theoretical Approach | Author : Ahona Halder | Arpita Sarkar | Dipannita Nath | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The LGBTQ community in India faces numerous domestic issues, primarily rooted in societal attitudes, legal challenges, and social discrimination. These issues significantly impact the lives of LGBTQ individuals and hinder their ability to live authentically and with equal rights. Efforts are being made by LGBTQ activists, organizations, and allies to address these issues and advocate for equal rights and social acceptance. In 2017, the Supreme Court gave the countrys LGBTQ community the freedom to safely express their sexual orientation. However, even after providing the community with necessary rights, many LGBTQ individuals in India face familial rejection upon coming out, resulting in strained relationships, emotional distress, and in some cases, violence and disownment. This lack of acceptance often leads to homelessness and vulnerability among queer youth. This particular aspect has been looked upon in this paper through the lens of game theory. | Phytochemical Analysis of the Ayurvedic Formulation, Triphala and its Constituents | Author : Lakshmi M | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Triphala is a traditional Ayurvedic herbal formulation, consisting of equal parts of three medicinal fruits namely, Emblica officinalis Gaertn., Terminalia bellerica Roxb. and Terminalia chebula Retz. In India, it is considered the most versatile of all herbal formulations. Triphala is found to be very effective in helping to control weight gain, chronic constipation, chronic degenerative conditions, conjunctivitis and progressive myopia. It also cures early stages of glaucoma and cataracts. In the present study, the aqueous and methanolic extracts of dried fruits and leaves of the constituent plants, individually and in equiproportional combinations were subjected to preliminary phytochemical studies. Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of steroids, flavonoids, coumarins, alkaloids, proteins, sugars and phenolic compounds. Combination extracts gave better results than individual aqueous and methanol extracts. Leaf extracts individual and combination were found to be equally effective as fruit extracts. Considering the availability and cost factor, leaves may be a cheaper substitute in favor of fruits. | Contour of Investment Dispute Settlement Mechanism A Crucial Analysis of its Purview and Impact on the Sustainability of the Extractive Industries in Cameroon | Author : Bande Gulbert Mbah Tarh | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This paper x rays the primordial role of the investor state dispute settlement ISDS mechanisms in fostering international cooperation for economic development, especially in the extractive industries EI . As it provides a forum for investors to bring claims against States and vice versa. The ICSID Convention maintains a careful balance between the interests of the investors and those of the host States as the Convention permits the institution of proceedings by both the host States and the investors. However, the evolution of the international investment system has transformed this broadly conceived forum into a relatively unilateral forum. Since under the current system, the best a Respondent State can hope for is that the investor covers their legal costs. With the investors having much to gain, while the States have everything to lose. As such, any successful State counterclaims and claims can serve as a deterrent to any frivolous claim from the investors, thus, providing the Respondent States with a motive to bypass jurisdictional objections and move straight to the merits. In this vein, the right granted to the private parties, to effectively sue a sovereign State for breaches of “acquired rights” granted in contracts, international investment agreements IIAs , and customary international law, has been called, by both the opponents and proponents, as the pulling down of the State to the same level as a private party. Despite ICSID permission and encouragement of State counterclaims, most State counterclaims in ISDS always fail because of the narrow interpretations of the counterclaim jurisdictional requirements, as well as the lack of substantive protections for States in contracts and IIAs. On this account, the paper also considers the effectiveness of ISDS and enforcement in Cameroon, and the ISDS proceedings under the OHADA system. Which in pursuant to the global recognition of arbitration as a predominant ISDS mechanism and the concomitant growth in the normative and institutional frameworks regulating the conduct of investment arbitration, created the Common Court for Justice and Arbitration CCJA and adopted the Uniform Act on Arbitration as the lex loci arbitri for all arbitration proceedings conducted within the OHADA zone. Although investors are still sceptical about such ISDS mechanisms because they are afraid of its legal and judicial uncertainty and insecurity – thus, prompting them to anchor at the ICSID. That being the case, the paper examines these issues by first cascading the spectrum and implications of the investment dispute settlement mechanisms – by focusing on the rights and obligations of the parties of an ISDS process, and then tackling the purview and impact of investment dispute settlement and enforcement framework in Cameroon, by examining the alternative mechanisms that can enhance sustainability in its EI. | Kaleidoscopic Study of NEP 2020 From the Perspective of Higher Education | Author : Dr. Suresh P. Agale | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :One of the core features of the National Education Policy NEP is its focus on research and innovation. While autonomy, good governance and new institutional structures are pathways to realize this, how the idea of innovation is conceived and enacted in a densely diverse educational system is a significant implementation challenge. In the background of research and innovation objectives of NEP, this note elicits five prominent innovation barriers prevailing in the higher education institutions HEIs in India and presents an innovation possibility matrix based on resources and openness. The research, development and innovation plan of NEP is evident in three ways. First is the establishment of new institutional structures. The National Research Foundation NRF is one such initiative to build high quality research institutions with collaboration of Government, universities and industry. The National Education Technology Forum NETF , another proposed institutional structure, focuses on educational technology across a range of institutions, and aims to improve pedagogy and assessment resulting in innovations in teaching and learning processes. Second is the thrust of NEP on priority and disruptive research areas such as green technologies, Artificial Intelligence AI , Virtual Reality VR , robotics, nanotechnology, block chain and Internet of Things. Third are the pedagogical measures. Modular examinations to test core capacities, degrees by research work, streamlining higher research degrees, more incubation facilities, technology development centres, deeper industry–academic interface and interdisciplinary research are some pedagogical and general educational measures that can support the research ecosystem. It is expected that as a combined outcome of all these factors, the level of innovation and the number of intellectual property attempts will improve in our institutions. However, this enhancement will be uneven unless we are mindful of two important factors, viz. what prevents institutions from innovating and what possible spectrum of innovations exists and is available for institutions. Agale "Kaleidoscopic Study of NEP 2020: From the Perspective of Higher Education" Published in International Journal of Trend in Scientific Research and Development (ijtsrd), ISSN: 2456-6470, Volume-7 | Issue-5 , October 2023, URL: https://www.ijtsrd.com/papers/ijtsrd59878.pdf Paper Url: https://www.ijtsrd.com/humanities-and-the-arts/education/59878/kaleidoscopic-study-of-nep-2020-from-the-perspective-of-higher-education/dr-suresh-p-agale

| Groundwater Sapping Process and Runoff of Old River Systems in the Great Sand Sea and the Gilf El Kebir Plateau, Western Desert of Egypt | Author : Khaled Abdel-Kader Ouda | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The present work delineates two main patterns of drainage in the Western Province of the Western Desert. The first pattern was formed by runoff of old river systems and has a restricted geographic distribution on the top surface and slopes of the scarps of the Gilf El Kebir Plateau but it is generally low, intermittent, having a limited duration in the westernmost part of the Great Sand Sea along the Egyptian Libyan borders. The second pattern was and still formed by groundwater sapping process which has a widespread distribution along the slopes of the Gilf El Kebir Plateau, the Nubia Sandstone hills distributed in the Dakhla Basin and the slopes of the widely distributed longitudinal Nubia Sandstone ridges in the Great Sand Sea between the Gilf El Kebir in the south and Siwa Oasis in the north. The phenomenon of lateral flowing of groundwater and its emergence as seeps at the edges of the scarps was and still today the main erosion process that produces major landforms with unique characteristics in the Great Sand Sea. It causes disintegration and breakdown of the Nubia Sandstone bedrock and erosion of the sandstone from the slopes, causing the slopes to be undermined and undergo mass wasting. It is also the predominant mechanism of the growth of the amphitheater headed valleys, and the flat topped surfaces of the upraised plateaus as well as the exploitation of joints and fractures in the Nubia Sandstone bedrock. In addition it is responsible of formation of different types of alcoves in headwalls, spring sites and seepage zones in many valley flanks. Moreover, vast areas of the Nubia Sandstone bedrock of the flat topped plateaus, flat tracks and depressions are found to be eroded, well exposed, clean, and covered by silica debris as a result of intense erosion by the groundwater seepage. | Counselling as a Correlate of Internship Training of Nursing Students in the Fako Health District of the Southwest Region of Cameroon | Author : Dr. Obenebob Ayukosok | Dr. Etta Roland Daru | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of counselling support on the internship training of nursing students in the Fako Health District of the Southwest Region Cameroon. Counselling support entails the provision of special advice and guidance from more experienced colleagues to percept and implement individualized patient care. It also addresses emotional, social, and personal guidance and advice in the learning environment. Specifically, it sought to establish whether there were any links between counselling and the training of students. The sequential explanatory design with the mixed method was adopted for the study. A sample of 345, including 325 second, third and fourth year students and 20 guidance counsellors were considered for the study. This sample was purposefully and conveniently selected. Data was collected quantitatively and qualitatively using questionnaires, focus group discussion guides and interviews. Data was entered using Epidata verse on 3.1 and exploratory statistics were ran to identify questionable entries, inconsistency in responses and others. Descriptive statistics were used to present distributions between and within subsets using frequency distributions, percentages and multiple response sets. Hypotheses were verified using binary logistic regression analysis and omnibus test of model coefficient, the likelihood ratio test and Wald statistics were used to appraise the degree of significance of relationships between psychosocial support indicators and internship training of nursing students. Here the Cox and Snell R Square were used to determine the explanatory power. Thematic analyses were used to analyse focus group discussions and interview data. Findings showed that counselling support was a necessary ingredient in internship training of nurses. The findings showed that, counselling 2=37.047 P=0.000 had a predictive power of 13.9 . Overall, 94.5 of students emphasized the importance of counselling during training. It was concluded that given the high levels of challenges and stressors associated with training, counselling should be considered as an unavoidable variable in elevating supportive, healthy and psychologically stable learning environments for students during training. It is therefore recommended that there should be an effective provision of counselling support through the creation of more emotionally welcoming spaces in the academic environment, more mentorship programs, a clinical environment of personal support which is sensitive to student’s psychosocial needs being a critical factor that will transform student’s anti academic attitude towards learning, periodic debriefing and counseling sessions that will assist the students to socialize to become a professional, which will also allay their anxiety levels during their educational training and thus increase academic performance. | An Efficient Hardware Implementation of Canny Edge Detection Algorithm | Author : Keerthana P | Mr. K. Raja | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Edge detection is an essential technique used in many image processing applications. Among the various edge detection techniques available, the canny edge detection algorithm has been widely recognized for its superior performance. However, its implementation in real time systems can be computationally complex and expensive in terms of hardware costs, leading to increased latency. To address these challenges, a novel approach to canny edge detection has been proposed. This algorithm utilizes approximation methods to replace complex operations, thereby reducing computational complexity. In addition, pipelining techniques are employed to further decrease latency. The proposed canny edge detection algorithm has been implemented on Xilinx Virtex 5 FPGA, a field programmable gate array. Compared to previous hardware architectures for canny edge detection, the new architecture requires fewer hardware resources, resulting in reduced costs. Furthermore, the algorithm is able to detect the edges of a 512 x 512 image in just 1ms. In conclusion, the proposed canny edge detection algorithm offers an efficient and cost effective solution for real time image processing applications. By utilizing approximation methods and pipelining techniques, it achieves superior performance while minimizing hardware costs and latency. Keerthana P | Mr. K. | Implementation of PID Controller PWM Module on FPGA | Author : C. Sinduja | Mrs. P. Thenmozhi | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :A technique for designing an Intelligent PID controller using Very Large Scale Integrated circuits VLSI is presented. The PID controller parameters are optimized using the Particle Swarm Optimization PSO algorithm, which identifies errors and controls the system with multiple iterations of different parameters. The optimization process focuses on parameters such as gain, delay, lag, and various times to solve problems. To evaluate the systems performance, a new function that includes system adjusting time, rise time, overshoot, and system error is defined. The circuits are tested and implemented as intelligent PID controllers on VLSI devices in a laboratory plant. The algorithm applied to the PID controller reduces iterations and enables rapid control action, resulting in improved system time delay and performance. The optimization technique is applied to improve the systems response. Finally, the Intelligent PID controller is implemented in FPGA. C. Sinduja | Mrs. P. Similarly, all the minerals composition calcium Ca , phosphorus P , magnesium Mg , potassium K , sodium Na , manganese Mn , copper Cu zinc Zn , iron Fe and secondary metabolites phenols, phytates, oxalates, alkaloids, tannins, saponins and lectins were significantly P 0.05 different across the treatments. All other parameters such as dry matter DM , ash, ether extract EE , nitrogen free extract NFE , non fibre carbohydrates NFC and carbohydrates CHO were varied significantly P 0.05 except the organic matter OM that was similar across the treatments. Fibre fractions Neutral Detergent Fibre NDF , Acid Detergent Fibre ADF , Acid Detergent Lignin ADL , Hemicellulose and Cellulose showed significant P 0.05 differences except ADL that was similar throughout the season. In vitro fermentation study revealed that methane CH4 , total gas volume TGV , dry matter degradability DMD , organic matter digestibility OMD , metabolisable energy ME , short chain fatty acids SCFA , and fermentation efficiency FE ranged between 3.00 and 7.50ml, 7.00 and 14.00ml, 44.37 and 56.79 , 37.56 and 43.48 , 4.25 and 5.12MJ KgDM, 0.11 and 0.28µmol, 4.00 and 6.78 respectively. Significant differences P 0.05 occurred among the months regarding the in vitro gas parameters. evaluated. The CP levels, CF and ADF indicated that Cajanus cajan would be digestible. In vitro fermentation results showed that CH4 ranged value was very low, an indication of low loss of energy feed if fed to ruminants. Dry matter degradability DMD and organic matter digestibility OMD of Cajanus cajan as affected by season change were relative low owing to relative high level of ADF, NDF and some secondary metabolites. However seasonal variation had significant P 0.05 effects on the chemical composition except for Ash, OM and ADL composition that were similar across the seasons. Similarly, the results of in vitro gas assessment showed that seasonal change had significant influence on the parameters measured. Amuda, A. J. | Okunlola, D. | Seismic Analysis of Single Column Structure and Regular Structure A Comparative Study | Author : Prof. M. Z. Shaikh | Om Padmakar Patil | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Structural analysis is mainly used for finding out the behavior of a structure when subjected to some action. This action can be in the form of load due to the weight of things such as people, furniture, wind, snow, etc. or some other kind of excitation such as an earthquake, shaking of the ground due to a blast nearby, etc. since all these loads are dynamic including the self weight of the structure because at some point in time these loads were not there. The distinction is made between the dynamic and the static analysis on the basis of whether the applied action has enough acceleration in comparison to the structures natural frequency. Structural design of buildings for seismic loads is very important for structural safety during major ground motions. The recent earthquakes, in which many reinforced concrete structures have been severely damaged or collapsed, indicated the need for evaluating the seismic performance of buildings. In particular, the seismic rehabilitation of concrete structures in high seismicity areas is a matter of growing concern, so damage qualification of buildings must be identified and an acceptable level of safety must be determined. The aim of this project is to study the seismic behavior of G 8 RC regular structures and single column structure at ground storey using ETABS software.Maximum Storey Displacement in regular structure is 18.36 mm and 27.54 mm in zone IV and zone V respectively. While in single column structure, it is found to be 17.94 mm and 19.14 mm in zone IV and zone V respectively. It means that maximum storey displacement is increased in zone V as compared to zone IV. Whereas maximum storey displacement is increased in single column structure as compared to regular structure. By providing shear wall, storey displacement gets reduced. Maximum Storey Drift in regular structure is 0.000787 mm and 0.00118 mm in zone IV and zone V respectively. While in single column structure, it is found to be 0.000766 mm and 0.000818 mm in zone IV and zone V respectively. Results show that maximum storey drift is increased in zone V as compared to zone IV. Whereas maximum storey drift is increased in single column structure as compared to regular structure. The lower base shear is getting in regular structure and the higher base shear is getting in single column structure. Base shear in regular structure is 159.1529 kN and 238.7294 kN in zone IV and zone V respectively. Base shear in single column structure is 248.5192kN and 372.7789 kN in zone IV and zone V respectively. The joint of the single column structure holds to be weak under seismic loading. Necessarily requires the strengthening the joins of single column structure. Results show that maximum storey stiffness is increased by providing shear wall in single column structure. Single column structure offers best resistance to lateral loads. Maximum Storey Stiffness in regular structure is same for both zone IV and zone V as 1089102.20 kN m along X direction and 781140.815 kN m along Y direction. In single column structure, it is also same for both zone IV and zone V as 1258905.50 kN m along X direction and 824590.56 kN m along Y direction. Hence, it needs optimum design procedure to proceed for further studies and also for construction. In time period, there is no change in all single column structure and regular structure. It remains same 1.56 sec in both structures. The single column structure can be used for architectural purpose by giving the pleasing appearance to single support member, which increases the aesthetic appearance of the structure. Prof. M. Z. | The Relationship between Tax Avoidance Strategies and Economic Growth in Nigeria | Author : Dr. Sunday Zibaghafa | Dr. Odogu Laime I. | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study investigated the relationship between tax avoidance strategies and economic growth in Nigeria, a sample of selected respondents was drawn using the convenience sampling within Nigeria. To achieve this, the sample consisted two groups, the tax payers and the tax officials, while tax payers included managers, CFOs and employees of private sector, the tax officials were selected from the Federal Inland Revenue Service FIRS . Descriptive analyses technique was employed to rank the selected tax avoidance strategies based on the responses obtained from each group while the multiple regression estimation technique was used to determine how each strategy affects economic growth in Nigeria. The descriptive analysis revealed that profit shifting to tax havens and transfer pricing strategies have significant inverse relationship with economic growth in Nigeria. We therefore recommended the need for a critical review of the Nigerian tax laws to take care of loopholes in the tax laws, and the contribution of other professionals such as accountancy firms and public tax officials should also be checked by the government by breaking the monopolistic tendency of these accountancy firms and ensuring that public tax authority is well funded. Sample of small scale enterprises in Yenagoa city of Bayelsa state was taken, Linear Regression with Ordinary Least Square was used to test the hypotheses with the aid of SPSS version 20.0. The study unveiled significant correlations between demographic factors and coping strategies. Notably, age, gender, education, income, and employment status played pivotal roles in how individuals grappled with PTSD. Older individuals often leaned towards social support and physical activity, while their younger counterparts sought professional assistance. Gender differences revealed women relying more on social support and physical activity, while men favored seeking professional help. Those with higher education levels tended to turn to social support and self help, and individuals with greater income levels were more inclined to seek professional and social support. Employed individuals frequently adopted physical activity and self help, whereas the unemployed were less likely to utilize social support and mindfulness techniques. In conclusion, this study underscores the pressing need to address PTSD in conflict affected regions worldwide, not limited to Cameroon alone. It underscores the urgency of prioritizing mental health support due to the enduring effects of trauma and the resilience of affected communities. Tailored support systems should be established, taking into account age, gender, education, income, and employment, and should encompass improved access to mental health services, community based assistance, and educational initiatives aimed at imparting effective coping strategies. Lepa are semi solid preparations intended for external application to the skin or certain mucous membranes for emollient, protective, therapeutic or prophylactic purposes where a degree of occlusion is desired. Method The classical texts of Rasashastra and BhaishajyaKalpana has been reviewed for the review of Lepa Kalpana. Special reference of Shvitrahara formulations has been collected and analyzed. Discussion Ayurvedic therapy suggests that Lepa should be gently rubbed in an upward or reverse direction of the hairs over the skin to make the action of application more quick and effective. Because of this, the drug enters into the Romakupa and further gets absorbed through Swedavahi Srotas and Siramukha leading to quicker absorption of medicament. Conclusion Acharya Sharangadhara has classified the Lepa Kalpana based on their therapeutic potentials. Lepa can be used in Shopha, Daha,Visarpa, Dustha Vrana Vyanga, Arunshika, Darunaka, Indralupta, Palita, Shvitra, Siddhma, Netraroga, Kandu Dadru, VataRakta, Shiroroga, Udarashula, GandaGala, Gradhasi. | The Effects of Nitrogen Fertilizer on Plant Growth | Author : Dr. Pallavi Dixit | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Nitrogen is an essential element for plant growth and development however, due to environmental pollution, high nitrate concentrations accumulate in the edible parts of these leafy vegetables, particularly if excessive nitrogen fertilizer has been applied. The consumption of these foods can be harmful to human health, thus its critical to design an effective plan for applying nitrogen fertilizer to crops. This study used organic, inorganic, and liquid fertilizers to look at how they affected nitrate levels and lettuce growth. The healthy growth of trees is ensured by nitrogen fertilization. The studys objective was to determine how different nitrogen fertilization techniques affected a few chosen criteria. This analysis was thought to be a hazy representation of the demands of cherries produced in herbicide barren fields. The amount of chlorophyll in leaves, the amount of minerals in two layers of soil, and their effects on tree growth were all examined. The effects of nitrogen fertilizer on plant growth will be covered in this essay. | Principal’s Managerial Skills for Conflict Resolution in Secondary Schools in Fako Division, Southwest Cameroon | Author : Ndeh Judith Magha | Frederick Ebot Ashu | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study intended to investigate frameworks of principals’ managerial skills for conflict resolution in some Secondary Schools in Fako Division of South West Region of Cameroon. The specific objective of the study elicits the views of principals’ managerial skills to resolve conflicts in secondary schools. The study employed a case study research design and interviewed 10 principals were selected randomly. The study used an interview guide for data collection. Data was analyzed using thematic analysis for the qualitative study. Findings revealed that proper managerial skills are important in enhancing friendliness amongst teaching staff in school. When conflicts are well managed, teachers are more conscious with the performance of their jobs. The proper management of conflicts in schools has the potential of reducing school dropouts and enhancing school effectiveness. A framework for the development of managerial skills of principals towards conflict resolution is vital for the improvement of a positive school climate. The study was limited by the fact that the socio political climate at the time of the study prevented the collection of a wide variety of data. Secondly, another limitation was the fact that the researcher did not sample the opinion of students who are very much at the centre of school conflicts. Based on the findings, the study therefore recommended that principals and teachers should be regularly given professionally related workshops and seminars on conflict reduction and management in schools. The interactions of all members of the school should be clearly defined and restricted to avoid the crossing of boundaries and hurting others both consciously and unconsciously. Principals and teachers should adopt a realistic framework for the development of personal conflict resolution skills. | Determinants of Full Dose of Oral Cholera Vaccine Uptake in Tiko and Limbe Health Districts | Author : Lepasia Arnold Fonge | Akoachere Jane-Francis | Esemu Seraphine | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Cholera is an acute, profuse watery diarrhea “rice water stools” resulting from the consumption of food or water contaminated by toxigenic strains of the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. Due to frequent outbreaks of cholera in Cameroon, the government of Cameroon introduced the oral cholera vaccine OCV in 2015. The objective of this study was to assess the determinants of the full dose of OCV uptake in Tiko and Limbe Health Districts HDs . A cross sectional household based survey study was conducted in which a multistage sampling technique and simple random sampling SRS were used to select Health Areas Has , quarters and households respectively. In every household selected, data were collected on socio demographic characteristics and information about OCV, from a randomly selected household member of age 21 years and above. Data on socio demographic characteristics and information about OCV were collected using a modified standardized questionnaire. Oral cholera vaccine uptake was compared among different socio demographic characteristics using Chi squared test with significance level set at P 0.05. Overall, coverage rate of OCV was low, 48.6 180 370 , and it was based on those who were aware of OCV 85.1 435 370 and had their vaccination cards. The main source of information was health worker 62.2 . Some of the determinants of non acceptance of the first and second doses of OCV were respondents thought OCV was Covid 19 vaccine absent when the vaccination team visited the house no faith in the vaccine vaccination team did not visit households and no faith in Cameroon’s health system and government. The main determinants for OCV acceptance were the fact that participants considered cholera to be a serious disease, and their willingness to prevent it. The adverse events for the first and second doses were palpable, 18 and 11 respectively. Conclusively, determinants that contributed to the low uptake of OCV were identified and the most peculiar one was the fact that community members perceived the cholera vaccine to be a cover up for the coronavirus vaccine. | The Use of an Online Learning Management System to Assess the Performance of the Students in Trigonometry | Author : Michael L. Novero | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Learning Management Systems were widely used in education, and studies have demonstrated that they boost student achievement. This studys goal was to confirm the findings of the related studies in the context of the schools online learning program. Piaget’s Constructivism Learning Theory, Siemens’ Connectivism Theory, and Engestrom’s Activity Theory backups the process of the group of students who used the LMS and students who were exposed to modular learning. The study examined the effectiveness of incorporating a learning management system in assessing students’ performance. Fifty students from a private institution in Cebu, Philippines, were the subjects of a pretest posttest explanatory sequential mixed method. The mean, median, standard deviation, t test for independent samples, paired t test, and Spearman rho were used to test the null hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The studys findings show that the respondents did not perform well on the pretest, but they did exceptionally well on the posttest. Additionally, the study discovered that while there is no significant difference between group 1 pretest and posttest results and those of group 2, there is a significant difference between group 1’s pretest and posttest results but there was no significant difference in the mean improvement of the student’s scores. Respondents attitudes toward the use of learning management systems in the classrooms were positive but there was no significant relationship between the attitude of the students towards LMS and their performance. Based on these findings, it is recommended that schools develop programs in upgrading their teachers’ skills in manipulating the features of the LMS among others, teachers should intensify efforts in the use of LMS tools in teaching Trigonometry and that students should be provided with avenue wherein they can enhance their skills in technology and be engaged in the learning process. | Geospatial Mapping and Analysis of the Distribution of Public Primary Healthcare Centers in Kaduna State, Nigeria. | Author : Peter Danjuma Averik | Andrew Adesola Obafemi | Gladys Chineze Emenike | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study investigated the geospatial analysis and mapping of the distribution of public primary healthcare centers PPHCs in Kaduna State, Nigeria. The study adopted a cross sectional survey design and employed purposive and systematic random sampling techniques to select three LGAs in each of the three Senatorial zones of Kaduna State. At the State Subnational , Senatorial, and Local Government Areas LGAs levels, a three step hierarchical geospatial analysis was carried out using nearest neighbor analysis. The coordinates of the PPHCs that the Global Positioning Systems had gathered in the study area were used in the study. In order to determine the distribution pattern of the PPHCs, additional analysis was performed using the coordinates imported into the ArcGIS interface. While the nearest neighbor analysis was used to examine the distribution, patterns present in the location of the PPHCs, descriptive statistics were used to describe the nature of the distribution. Findings showed that at significant spatial scales, the point pattern of PPHCs was random in Kaduna State z=1.046 p=0.296 Kaduna North Senatorial Zone z=0.215 p=0.82 Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone z=1.387 p=0.165 and Kaduna South Senatorial Zone z= 1.093 p=0.274 , while at the LGA level variations were observed with a few clustered and dispersed and yet majority showed random distribution. The World Health Organizations recommendation of 5km for distances between and among PPHCs was exceeded at all levels, according to the Nearest Neighbor Analysis. For instance, the observed mean distance for the senatorial pattern is 5.28 km, 7.29 km, and 7.14 km, respectively, for the senatorial zones of Kaduna North, Kaduna Central, and Kaduna South. According to the studys findings, the distribution pattern was skewed and suggested a non proportional type. Therefore, it is recommended that additional electoral wards should be created or PPHCs should be built in the underserved LGAs while taking the centers accessibility and population density into consideration.
