| Impact of Ho Women on Tribal Economy and Society A Historical Study | Author : Rinu Kumari | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The presented article is a critical study of the transformative role in the economic and social life of Ho tribal women of West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. This article is divided into three parts. The first part is a study of the economic activities of Ho women in the Ho society during the pre British period. Initially the economy of Ho society was based mainly on the products of wild collection and rudimentary farming. In both these economic activities, tribal women appear to be more active than men. In agriculture, men did plowing and weeding while women did the work of weeding, planting, harvesting and threshing. When there was no work in the fields, women used to make household useful items like Bachhom Bayar, mats, brooms, making leaf plates, extracting oil etc. and went to the markets to sell these items. The second part begins with the establishment of the British Raj in 1837 AD over the present day West Singhbhum region as the Kolhan Government Estate. During this period, changes in the economy and livelihood of women as a result of Forest Act and land settlement have been observed. Now women are seen working under forest contractors, in mines, brick kilns, road and railway construction etc., which strengthens their economic condition. In the third part, in the latter half of the 19th century, education arrived and spread in Kolhan and from 1871 72 AD, education started being given to women in the Kolhan region. Later, after getting education, women started adopting various new professions. In order to observe the changing livelihoods of educated Ho women in the post independence period, changes in livelihoods and socio economic changes have been reviewed on the basis of questionnaires received from Ho families. | Dynamic Division of Terminal Distribution Area Based on the Front End Warehouse Mode | Author : Chen Liang | Fan Yuan | Xiao Ma | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The delivery of the front position mode can effectively solve the customers requirements for the timeliness of the order, which is an emerging distribution model. However, its management model, order distribution, path division, etc. lack scientific guidance, which will lead to an increase in end distribution costs. This article studies the dynamic division of the distribution area of the preparatory distribution staff. This problem is mainly divided into two stages for discussion. According to the total distribution capacity of the front warehouse, the demand is changed, and the use of total distribution capabilities can maximize the use of total distribution capabilities. In the first stage, the initial distribution area is divided by the K means cluster to determine the optimal clustering number of the initial area. In the second stage, discuss the relationship between the total distribution capacity and the total demand in the initial region, and then adjust the initial area division by the path optimization. When the total distribution capacity meets the total demand, but the local distribution capacity is less than the local demand, the region is dynamically adjusted by path optimization. about. When the total distribution capacity does not meet the total demand, add third party distribution to build a dynamic adjustment model containing third party distribution. The adjusted third party dynamic model is reduced by about 2 compared to the total distribution cost of non adjusted third party distribution. Both dynamic adjustment models are solved with ant colony algorithms. Dynamic adjustment models can reduce total distribution costs. | Design and Analysis of a Ku Band Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna | Author : Okeke Joseph Nonso | Abdullahi Ayegba | Ekundayo Monday Edeki | Musa Yakubu | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The aim of this work was to design a rectangular microstrip patch antenna that will operate at a Ku band. The design was done using mathematical or computation method. The frequency of operation of the rectangular microstrip patch antenna designed is 16 GHz 16 x 109 Hz . It was observed from the result that as the values of the dielectric constant is increasing, the dimensions height, length and width of the antenna decrease. For instance, when the value of the dielectric constant increased from 2.0 to 2.5, the patch antenna height decreased from 0.633 mm to 0.566 the width decreased from 7.65 mm to 7.09 mm, and length changed from 6.48 mm to 5.82 mm. It was concluded that the higher values of dielectric constant will result in the decrease in the size of a rectangular microstrip patch antenna. It was recommended that further work involving the varying of frequency with or without the varying of the value of dielectric constant be done since this one involved a constant frequency of operation with varying values of the dielectric constant, r. | Tissue Macro Nutrient Contents and Their Relationship with Growth in Two Dominant Eucalyptus Cultivars Across Three Selected Districts of Uganda | Author : Nankya E | Senabulya, S | Saavedra, R | Lali, F | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Analyzing nutrient levels in plant tissues and comprehending how they are distributed among different parts is essential for implementing efficient nutrient management strategies across various crops. This study aimed to assess the levels of macro nutrients in different tissues of two prevalent Eucalyptus cultivars and their correlation with growth parameters in Kabarole, Mpigi, and Rakai districts. Two dominant Eucalyptus cultivars, E. grandis local and GU7 Improved , were examined for nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and magnesium levels in leaves, bark, branches, and wood. Plant growth was evaluated by measuring diameter at breast height, total tree height, tree volume, and biomass per plot. Results revealed that the GU7 cultivar exhibited a higher accumulation of major nutrients in all plant parts compared to E. grandis across the three districts, with a descending order of Leaves Branches Bark Wood for N, P, and K. Whereas, Ca and Mg were predominantly stored in the bark for both cultivars, although more significantly in GU7, in the order of Bark Branches Wood Leaves. Furthermore, a positive significant correlation was observed between most nutrient contents in leaves and growth parameters of Eucalyptus cultivars, although no significant relation was found with phosphorus. | Investigation of the Seasonal Variation of Global Solar Radiation Over Lokoja, Kogi State, Nigeria | Author : Abdullahi Ayegba | Tijani Musa Alfa | Amodu Umoru Simeon | Attah Emmanuel Idenyi | Agbonika Isaac Danjuma | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The aim of the work was to study the change in global solar radiation of Lokoja, Kogi State, seasonally. The research made use of weather data of maximum and minimum temperature of Lokoja, for the months of March, July and December, 2023 which was acquired from a weather station in a school in Lokoja. The calculation of the global solar radiation of the area was done using Hargreaves Samanni’s model. The results showed that there was a daily change increase and decrease, or increases on consecutive days or vice versa in all the months in which the global solar radiation has been studied. In addition, the global solar radiation was highest in December, followed by the radiation recorded in March and least in July. From the results, it was concluded that the global solar radiation in the area shows a seasonal variation, such that the global solar radiation was higher in dry season and lower in rainy season. The lower global solar radiation in rainy season was due to lower temperature generally experienced in rainy season since global solar radiation depends on temperature of the atmosphere. The result of this work will be valuable to some Scientists, Engineers, Agriculturists and other stakeholders in the fields that have something to do with solar energy, solar radiation and environmental condition. | Developing and Analyzing Polyherbal Lather Shaving Cream Formulations | Author : Komal Jadhav | Vishal Girbane | Dhanashri Dupade | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Shaving cream is a semi solid emulsion that is applied to the skin. Shaving cream is not a cosmetic hair product, but provides a foaming agent to gently remove unwanted hair. Commercially available shaving creams are full of synthetic chemicals, which are very harmful to the skin if used regularly or daily. As we know, the skin on the face is very delicate and can be scratched when shaving. This led us to prepare shaving cream with natural herbs. Commercial preparations contain sodium hydroxide, potassium permanganate, glycerin and sodium lauryl sulfate, but all synthetic substances have been replaced by natural plant products such as anti inflammatory aloe vera gel, natural surfactants and concentrated soap extract and coconut oil. Primer, Antifungal and Antiseptic Neem Oil, Antibacterial Olive Oil, Aromatic Lemon Oil. We prepared four structures, one synthetic, the second recycled, the third natural and the fourth natural. The pH is the same as your skins. Easy to apply and remove. It spreads easily on the skin. All four shaving cream formulations showed the same results. | Water Fuel Engines as An Alternative Concept | Author : Aman Shah | Bidhan Sarkar | Koushik Kumar Mandal | Souvik Chatterjee | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :A Water fuel engine hydrogen vehicle is an alternative fuel vehicle that uses hydrogen as its onboard fuel for motive power 1 . Combustion of hydrogen with air is receiving increasing attention in the future energy scenario. The term may refer to a personal transportation vehicle, such as an automobile, or any other vehicle that uses hydrogen in a similar fashion, such as an aircraft. The power plants of such vehicles convert the chemical energy of hydrogen to mechanical energy by burning hydrogen in an internal combustion engine spark ignition engine , Widespread use of hydrogen for fuelling transportation is a key element of a proposed hydrogen economy 1 . Hydrogen fuel doesnt occur naturally on Earth and thus isnt an energy source but is an energy carrier. Currently its most frequently made from methane or other fossil fuels. However, it can be produced from a wide range of sources such as wind, solar, or nuclear that are intermittent, too diffuse or too awkward to directly propel vehicles. Integrated wind to hydrogen plants, using electrolysis of water, are exploring technologies to deliver costs low enough, and quantities great enough, to compete with traditional energy sources. In the late 1990s Canada developed a world leading position in fuel cell and hydrogen technologies based in large part by advances in Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell technology by Ballard Power Systems and a few smaller highly innovative firms. 2 Global trend is to move from fossil fuels to carbon free fuels, including renewable. Decarbonisation driven by protection of environment. For India and other oil importing developing countries, energy security is the main driver for decarbonisation this paper will provide an overview of the current state of the hydrogen in the spark ignition engine. | Vitiligo Treated Homoeopathically A Case Report | Author : Dr. Rudrakshi Dey | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Vitiligo is an acquired cutaneous disorder of pigmentation, with an incidence of 0.5 to 2 worldwide. There are three major hypotheses for the pathogenesis of vitiligo that are not exclusive of each other biochemical cytotoxic, neural and autoimmune. Recent data provide strong evidence supporting an autoimmune pathogenesis of vitiligo. As vitiligo can have a major effect on quality of life, treatment can be considered and should preferably begin early when then disease is active. Current treatment modalities are directed towards stopping progression of the disease and achieving repigmentation. Therapies include corticosteroids, topical immunomodulators, photo chemo therapy, surgery, combination therapies and depigmentation of normally pigmented skin. It seems that traditional Chinese medicine could be more effective than the current treatment for vitligo. The lack of exposure to education, healthcare, sanitation, lead the community members towards backwardness. The traditional food of tribes plays a vital role in their health and immunity. Theatre can provide good exposure to the community members to believe in themselves, to promote their culture and for their overall development. Applied theatre can educate the community more easily than speeches or any other mode of awareness given to them. Applied theatre can influence both literate and illiterate populations which have the potential to convey lifeless contents effectively. Drama, documentary, and other visual content can influence the mass is more than other mediums. The specialty of the brain to store visuals more than the audio signals can be also a reason behind its reachability to the masses. This can provide long time effect and can also be seenas a way to educate a community without their knowledge or active participation. | Enhancing Image Quality in Compression and Fading Channels A Wavelet Based Approach with Db2 and De noising Filters | Author : Shreyaskumar Patel | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The relentless growth in digital image data and its widespread application across various fields such as medical imaging, satellite imaging, and online content delivery necessitates efficient compression techniques to reduce storage requirements and facilitate faster transmission. However, traditional compression methods often lead to a significant degradation in image quality, particularly at high compression ratios, making the recovery of the original image fidelity challenging. This paper investigates the impact of compression ratio and PSNR on image quality, utilizing the 256×256 as a test image. It introduces a novel technique combining discrete wavelet transforms with Db2 wavelet and various de noising filters Wiener, Median to enhance decompression quality measures, such as SNR and BER, over existing methods. Further exploration is conducted on the effect of increasing compression ratios on image quality in flat fading channels using QPSK and 8 PSK modulation techniques with the Db2 wavelet transform. Comparative results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed technique in maintaining higher quality in decompressed images. This study not only underscores the trade off between compression ratio and image quality but also showcases the potential of Db2 wavelet transforms in improving performance in fading channel conditions for different modulation schemes. | Investigating the Potential of 2D Electrical Resistivity Tomography in the Determination of Geological Structures Related to Groundwater Occurrence | Author : Asiwe Uchechukwuand | Agboro Joseph | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Groundwater scarcity is a critical challenge in Delta North Senatorial Region, Nigeria, primarily due to complex geological structures hindering effective resource exploration. This study investigates the efficacy of 2D electrical resistivity tomography ERT in conjunction with vertical electrical sounding VES and existing borehole data to accurately map subsurface structures and enhance groundwater resource identification in Issele Uku, Ugwashi Uku, Okpanam, Umunede, and Asaba. Ten 2D ERT surveys were conducted across these five towns, utilizing Wenner and Dipole Dipole configurations with electrode spacing of 5 10m. Interpreted resistivity values were correlated with potential geological units and groundwater occurrence using established resistivity ranges. Borehole data provided further validation for aquifer depths and structural relationships. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of 2D ERT in delineating geological features like fractures, faults, and weathered zones influencing groundwater flow and storage, with a success rate of 90 . Resistivity variations effectively distinguished clay rich soils high resistivity , fractured weathered rocks moderate resistivity , and massive, less permeable formations low resistivity . Comparison with borehole data revealed close agreement between predicted and actual aquifer depths, with discrepancies rarely exceeding 8m. This highlights the potential of 2D ERT as a cost effective and non invasive tool for targeted borehole siting and improved groundwater resource management in the region. | Guidance Counsellors’ Competences, Skills and the Effectiveness of the Services in Cameroon State Universities | Author : Tita-Nghamun Johnson Bobga | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study was aimed at assessing the extent to which competences and skills of guidance counselors GCs can foster the effectiveness of the guidance counseling services in Cameroon State universities. The research was carried out in four state universities in Cameroon notably University of Buea, University of Bamenda, University of Douala and University of Yaounde II using a sample of 577 students, 26 guidance counselors and 21 university administrators and lecturers. The study employed a survey design considering triangulation whereby qualitative and quantitative approaches supported each other to strengthen the validity and reliability of the findings. Purposive and simple random sampling techniques were used to sample four State Universities while participants were involved in the study conveniently. Two sets of questionnaire, one for students and another one for GCs were used while an interview guide helped to gather data from the administrators. Data were digitalized with the support of EpiData version 3.1, and were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using SPSS 21.0. As for the textual data qualitative data , their abstraction was reduced following the process of thematic analysis. The findings revealed that Guidance counselors generally perceived that they were not often exercising the activities for which they were assigned. The most highlighted activity though with poor rate of execution 15.4 were mobilizing stakeholders to provide inputs, feedbacks and suggestions to improve service delivery providing data that serve as a basis to solve students’ problems and maintaining current information on study and job opportunities. This was concordant with students’ perceptions as they generally complained that guidance counselors were not often carrying out their dedicated activities. University administrators and lecturers stressed that knowledge and skills in guidance and counseling services were very important for counselors to partake in their profession. Both the students and guidance counselors equally acknowledged that guidance counselors’ competences are important for the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services. Some administrators objectively acknowledged that they could not assess guidance counselors since they have never participated in any of their counseling services. In fact, administrators and lecturers acknowledged their weak involvement or collaboration with guidance counselors. This collaboration was narrowed to giving them floor to talk during orientation days. Lack of career profile for counselors was a major concern, and moreover, guidance counselors were mostly trained for secondary schools and did not have a terminal degree, which makes them to be under looked upon. The leading consequence was the fact that GCs now tend to focus more in furthering their study in the University to which they are attached, thus neglecting the job for which they were employed. The chain effect is that, after achieving their terminal degrees, which might not even be in counseling, they now seek opportunities to teach in the amphitheaters where they now spend most of their time, to the detriment of the counseling of students they were employed for. It was advocated that there is a need to have a plan of action for service evaluation, visit to the counseling units to assess output directly or indirectly. It was equally recommended that real experts in counseling to follow up and implement counseling programs as well as Guidance Counselling Services should be posted to the institutions. Adequate finances, facilities and equipment, improving collaboration between administrators, lecturers and Guidance Counsellors, and also providing a career profile for Guidance Counsellors were also recommended. | Sustainable Tourism in Bhutan The Philosophical Underpinnings | Author : Dr. Bhagyashree Rath | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Bhutan’s sustainable tourism model has been able to garner widespread attention across the globe in recent times. This study examines the philosophical roots of sustainable tourism in Bhutan, contrasting it with Western models and integrating it with the Gross National Happiness GNH framework and local cultural values. Bhutan’s ‘High Value, Low Volume’ tourism policy prioritizes economic gains while minimizing environmental and cultural disruptions. Bhutan’s approach is deeply influenced by Buddhist principles of moderation, respect for all life, and reverence for nature, diverging from Western models focused on resource exploitation and materialism. The study underscores Bhutan’s model as a holistic template for sustainable development, yet acknowledges challenges such as economic constraints of this policy and dependence on limited tourist demographics. It emphasizes the need for international support and technological collaboration to bolster sustainable tourism infrastructure. The Bhutanese model demonstrates that sustainability need not be compromised for development if both are approached with foresight and respect for heritage and the environment. This study contributes to the discourse on sustainable tourism with a focus on how indigenous values and philosophies can inform and enhance sustainability practices globally. | Child Right Provisions in Russian Constitution An Analysis through the Lens of Child Centric Perspective | Author : Dr. Kirtimayee Routraya | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Historically, children have been viewed as non persons or properties of the parents however, the advent of industrialization and subsequent reform movements led to the recognition of children as autonomous individuals with comprehensive rights. This paper examines the constitutional provisions of Russia related to children’s rights from child centric perspective. The recognition of children as autonomous beings with agency and voice is the major underpinning behind such advocacy. Though Russia ratified the UNCRC, the constitutional recognition of children as independent right holders remains limited and is obscured by the language of paternalism that prioritises protection over autonomy. The study deconstructs the constitutional texts and evaluate the visibility of child rights within the constitutional framework. The study, also compares the approach of constitutions of other countries while discussing its major advocacy. Thus, the paper calls for employing right based language, asserting child’s agency and visibility in the legal framework without subsuming it under other broad provisions, to reform the normative way of addressing the rights and entitlements of children. This approach, further aligns with the international standards set by the UNCRC and is integral for ensuring children’s rights and their wellbeing within a progressive framework. | Experimental Study for Efficiency of Natural and Modified Seagrass as Low Cost Adsorbent for Removal Malachite Green Dye | Author : Nada N. Abd El Latief | Mustafa T. Yagub | Rajab Atibeni | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The removal of dyes from wastewater is a matter of great interest in the field of waste water treatment. The effluents from many industries often contain one or more toxic dyes. Therefore, an increased interest has been focused on removing such dyes from wastewaters. Malachite green MG is one of the most common water soluble dyes. In general, several methods are used for the removal of dyes from wastewater. Among the treatment methods, adsorption is comparatively superior. Sea wastes are renewable and available abundantly at no or low costs. In the present study, the use of low cost, abundantly available, highly efficient and eco friendly adsorbent biodegrade seagrass materials, as a sea by product has been reported as an alternative to uptake of malachite green MG dye from its aqueous solution. Batch experiments were used to carried out for the removal of Malachite Green dye from its aqueous solution using seagrass material as adsorbent. A batch mode was used to study several factors, dye concentration solution 10 90 ppm, adsorbent dosage 15 35 mg, contact time 0 120 min, size 355 710 , pH 3 11 and agitation speed 150 250 . The results indicated that the removal efficiency increases with the increase of adsorbent dosage, contact time and pH, while inversely proportional to the increase in size, dye concentration solution and agitation speed. The adsorptions resulting data were in agreement with both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models according to the regression analysis, and the kinetics data followed pseudo second order kinetic. | Overview on Shingles Herpes Zoster | Author : Ishwari Chavan | Rameshwar Bahirat | Prof. Prashant Vyavhare | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The Varicella zoster virus VZV or human herpes virus 3 is a neurotropic human alpha herpes virus responsible for chickenpox varicella and shingles Herpes zoster HZ .HZ represents a reactivation of VZV in the host and has gained interest because of variable clinical presentation, which is important in the differential diagnosis of diseases. Furthermore, HZ complications are potentially life threatening. HZ reactivation has been reported as a possible adverse event after COVID 19 vaccination. HZ reactivation has recently been observed after COVID 19 vaccination. The disease shows different clinical stages. A person’s immune system weakens as they age. The more the immune system weakens, the less likely it is to prevent the virus from reactivating. Hence, older people are more at risk from Shingles. The varicella zoster virus is responsible for chickenpox also known as herpes zoster . After a person has chickenpox, the virus stays in their body and becomes inactive. The virus can become active again years later and cause Shingles. Scientists aren’t exactly sure what causes the virus to become active again. However, there may be multiple factors. | The Effects of Academic Related Stress on the Performance Scores of Students of Ordinary Level Chemistry in Bamenda III | Author : Ngwa Peter Neba | Dr. Azinwi Terence Niba | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Poor performance in sciences especially in chemistry has continued to be a major concern for educational stakeholders in Cameroon. These poor performance scores have led to low mean grades for most students thus jeopardizing their chances for upward educational mobility. Academic performance may be impeded by academic related stress and its attendant indicators such as anxiety, depression, financial stress and loneliness which could in turn lead to inadequate coverage of subject syllabus, non familiarity with examination format, lack of strong reading habit by students preparing for examinations amongst other challenges faced by chemistry students. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of academic related stress on the performance scores of students in Ordinary Level Chemistry in Secondary Schools in Bamenda III. More specifically, the study sought to ascertain the extent to which anxiety and depression affect the performance scores of students in Ordinary Level Chemistry. The study employed the survey research design with a mix of both quantitative and qualitative techniques. Quantitative data were collected through a questionnaire while a semi structured interview guide were used to collect qualitative data from a sample of 120 respondents. Questionnaires were completed by 100 Chemistry students while 20 Chemistry teachers were interviewed. The purposive and simple random sampling techniques were used to select the sample of the study. Data were analyzed with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS version 23.0 for Windows. Descriptive statistics such as simple percentages, mean scores and standard deviation, and inferential statistics notably the Pearson Correlation test was used to analyze quantitative data while qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis with the support of ATLAS.ti software version 8.0. The findings revealed that anxiety r=0.863, p 0.05 and depression r=0.811, p 0.05 have a positive correlation with workers’ performance. These findings are in consonance with the postulates of scholars such as Mayya 2004 , Sideridis 2005 , Trombitas 2012 , Morahan Martin and Schumacher 2003 who have theorized anxiety and depression as having the ability to determine students’ performance scores. The findings were discussed within the framework of the Lazarus and Folkman’s Cognitive relational theory 1984 , Albert Bandura’s theory on self efficacy 1997 and Urie Bonfenbrenner’s Ecological systems theory 1979 . Based on the findings, recommendations were made to students, teachers, school authorities and to integrate stress coping strategies in their teaching methods and follow up at home so as to assuage the devastating effects of academic related stress on the performances scores of their students children in Ordinary Level Chemistry. Suggestions for further studies were made. | Numerical Investigation of Heat Transfer in Triangular Plate | Author : Rakesh Kumar Sahu | Mr. Sudhir Singh Rajput | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The primary aim of these investigations was to explore the characteristics of flow and heat transfer under varying Rayleigh numbers and aspect ratios. The results obtained through Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD simulations, presented graphically in the form of heat flow and stream functions, reveal that the nature of heat transfer is influenced by both the Rayleigh number and aspect ratio. Moreover, the study validates the strong dependence of the Nusselt number on the Rayleigh number, aspect ratio, and enclosure parameters. The CFD simulations effectively capture the boundary conditions of the natural convection problems under consideration.Solutions are derived for a range of Rayleigh numbers, maintaining a constant Prandtl number Pr = 0.70 at an aspect ratio of 1. The Pressure Velocity Coupling Method, coupled with the Non Iterative Time Advancement NITA scheme, is employed to effectively solve the problem. The distribution of temperature and stream function is analysed as a function of thermal and geometrical output parameters for the specific problem at hand. The investigation involves a two stage approach to discern variations in results stemming from different computational approaches. | Impact of Home Based Pulmonary Rehabilitation PR Program on Patients with Severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease COPD and Interstitial Lung Disease ILD Who are on Long Term Oxygen O2 Therapy LTOT | Author : Moumita Chakraborty | Mahesh Pund | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Introduction Prevalence of chronic lung diseases such as COPD and ILD is increasing at a very alarming rate in India. The most challenging aspect in their management is the maintenance of optimal saturation levels with minimal oxygen. Home Based pulmonary rehabilitation PR program may play a promising role in not only preventing oxygen dependency but also alleviating the risk of frequent hospitalization. Objective To understand the impact of home based PR program in patients with ILD and COPD who are on Long Term Oxygen Therapy LTOT. Materials and Methods We selected 27 COPD and 18 ILD stable patients who are on LTOT for an 8 week home based PR program. Baseline assessment of Exercise capacity, Lung function and dypsnea levels were measured every week. At the end of the 8th week, we analyzed the duration and flow of 02 required to maintain an acceptable saturation 88 and compared it to the baseline levels. Results and Discussion Following the PR program, we found that the duration and amount of supplemental 02 requirement gradually dropped from 3 ± 0.9 l min and 17 ±4.5 hours to 1 ±0.4 l min and 7 1.7 hours. Also, 6 MWT test results showed improvement p=0.05 . Both the disease groups were comparable anthropometrically and showed a similar pattern of improvement with PR. Application Adherence to PR will bring about a positive impact on day to day functional capacity. Conclusion PR therefore should be considered as a modality for management of chronic lung diseases. | Study of Band Millimeter Wave Antipodal Tapered Slot Antennas – Portable and High Gain | Author : Deeksha Singh | Burla Sridhar | Vishwajeet Kumar | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Millimeter wave applications such as automobile radar, high definition video, and high resolution photography are using more and more high gain directional antennas. The wide bandwidth, high gain, and linear polarization of the Vivaldi antenna, often called the Tapered Slot Antenna TSA , make it a viable substitute. However, there are design constraints such as eliminating external circuitry for space constrained applications and enhancing gain without increasing area. The goal of this study is to provide low profile, antipodal tapered slot antennas that are easier to integrate into systems at the system level and have better gain and radiation characteristics. A metamaterial loaded Antipodal Elliptically Tapered Space Antenna AETSA with a high gain and small dimensions is proposed in the thesis for the 20–40 GHz frequency range. The AETSA incorporates an Isosceles Trapezoidal Dielectric Lens ITDL to increase gain by 1.1 dB. It is built on an RT Duroid 5880 substrate. The ITDL is equipped with a new kind of broadband metamaterial that improves gain and stabilizes radiation pattern without increasing the antennas size. The antenna shows improved gain and respectable impedance matching across 20–40 GHz. This work aims to improve the gain and radiation characteristics of the antipodal elliptically tapered slot antenna. Two proposed designs are the modified Antipodal Tapered Slot Antenna ATSA and the modified Antipodal Elliptically Tapered Slot Antenna MAETSA . A constant radiation pattern over the 20–40 GHz frequency range is produced via a special transition between the MAETSAs feed and taper portions. By 0.3 dB across the higher frequency band, the antenna gains. In addition, the ATSA is small and adds 1.66 dB over the working spectrum. After testing and fabrication, case studies show that the prototype is suitable for millimeter wave imaging systems. The main objective of the thesis is the design of an antipodal tapered slot antenna for space constrained broadband millimeter wave applications. It proposes two distinct antenna designs one with a bandpass filter based on Half Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide HMSIW and the other with rectangular corrugations. In order to regulate the band throughout a frequency range of 21.6–40 GHz, the first design employs a periodic structure with three horizontal slots and two gaps. Rectangular corrugations and an RSITSV bandpass filter optimized by a single parameter are used in the second design. across 23.5–25 GHz, the antenna with an integrated bandpass filter exhibits a gain variation of 1.53 dB, and across 25–40 GHz, the gain is almost constant at 11–11.92 dB. | Design and Implementation of A 100KVA Community Solar Garden Developing A Model for the Maintainability and Sustainability of the Green Energy Global Revolution in Otefe Oghara, Delta State, Nigeria | Author : Charles Ufuah | Hillary Madumeye | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This research project presents and exhibits the technical feasibility and development of a Community Solar Garden model by leveraging the intensity of the sun energy and harnessing its potency to deliver electrical energy and power using solar panels. Solar panels are devices that convert the sun light energy into direct current electricity. The solar panels are also referred to as photovoltaic which means light electricity. A solar panel is a collection of solar cells that can spread over a large area to work together to provide sufficient energy to a large load centre. The more light that hits a cell the more electricity it produces. This green energy comes from the sun which is a natural resource and is very environment friendly in the sense that it does not pollute the air. This is why it is therefore also referred to as clean energy. Its primary technology includes photovoltaics, concentrated solar power and also thermal collector. The solar garden produces an outcome that can be replenished at a rate equal to or faster than the rate at which they are consumed. This project is an integration and deployment of the photovoltaic technology in synergy with the relevant hardware and installations. The various units in this project include the solar panels, the batteries, the central control network, the charging unit, the inverting unit, the switching unit, the voltage protection unit and the feedback control unit which are functionally integrated and harmonized for availability of steady power output to consumers. The various units were functionally integrated and the entire installation demonstrated a commendable output of steady electricity supply. The output proves very reliable as a result of valid empirical findings in the research work. | Overview of Impact of Electromagnetic Phenomena and Power Quality Disturbances | Author : Joel Ogunyemi | Ayangbenjo H. Adeyeye | Peter O. Mbamaluikem | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The usage of increasingly sophisticated electrical and electronic device systems in households and businesses has resulted in a constant rise in the demand for electrical energy. From radar and space exploration at ultra high frequencies to metal detection at ultra low frequencies, the electromagnetic spectrum is being used. Technology has advanced to more effectively capture and distribute electrical energy as a result of this need. Because of this, scientists are always looking for novel approaches to maximize the electromagnetic spectrums utility for a range of purposes. Biological impacts, interactions with sensitive electronic equipment, and the influence of electromagnetic fields on the distribution of electric currents in power circuits are the three main categories into which electromagnetic disturbances can be classified. Due to its increased sensitivity to various electromagnetic phenomena, equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings needs immunity. In contemporary power distribution networks, harmonic disturbances are the main factor contributing to power quality degradation in nonlinear loads that contain power electronics. Harmonic disturbances, which can interfere with the operation of delicate electronic equipment, have increased as a result of the widespread use of power electronics in gadgets. Electrical systems must be built with immunity to electromagnetic disturbances to provide consistent power quality. The study highlights the importance of implementing proper grounding techniques and filtering devices to minimize the effects of electromagnetic interference on sensitive equipment. By addressing these issues, power quality can be improved, leading to more reliable operation of electrical systems Joel Ogunyemi | Ayangbenjo H. Adeyeye | Peter O.
