The training of teachers is the way forward for the incorporation of the media into the field of education. Personal attitudes towards TIC-´s and their way of influencing the interest and motivation of teachers to form and to put into practice new tools should be assessed. We developed navigation system prototype for the visually impaired using LED lights. Where LED lights emit visible light with location data and a smartphone or blind persons stick with a visible light receiver receives the data. The controller with receiver calculates the optimal path to a designation and speaks to the visually impaired through a headphone or turns stick left or right with the help of motor. The prototype is able to navigate the visually impaired users fairly well with speech guidance. We believe that the application of visible light communication belongs to location-based services and new graphical user interfaces that combine visual imagery with visible light communication. Environmental factors has great influence on biosynthesis of secondary metabolites in plants. Nashik valley is located at highest elevated point of the Maharashtra state of India . Thereby, vineyards of these area are always subjected to various stressful environmental conditions. Present work aimed to study the effect of environmental factors on secondary metabolite diversity and free radical scavenging activity of different aerial parts of V.Vinefera from Nashik valley. Organic extracts are prepared by soaking the dry powder (10%) of different aerial parts viz.leaf lamina, stem and petiole of Jumbo seedless cultivar into 90% Methanol. Presence of different secondary metabolites were confirmed by phytochemical analysis. Detection of spots of secondary metabolites was observed by Thin layer chromatography (TLC) using the solvent system, N-Butanol: Acetic Acid: Water (4:1:5). Folin-Ciocalteau method was used to determine total phenolic content whereas, total flavonoid content was estimated by aluminum chloride colorimetric assay. Free radical scavenging activity of extract was carried out by DPPH assay .Findings of study showed that almost all the aerial parts of V.vinefera are rich source of secondary metabolites with medicinal values. Results of TLC showed presence of different spots of secondary metabolites. Rf value of flavonoid “quercetin was found to be 0.85. Total phenolic content of petiole was found to be highest (0.92-± 0.10) whereas leaf lamina showed lowest amount viz. 0.5-± 0.07mg GAE/g The total flavonoid content of petiole was found to be 0.28-±0.12mg/g quercetin equivalent which was highest in comparison to stem (0.13 -±0.04quercetin equivalent) and leaf lamina (0.11-±0.01) mg/g quercetin equivalent. Satisfactory antioxidant activity (Radical scavenging activity) of different aerial parts were found in the order as, Stem (70.01%)>Petiole (67.00%)> leaf lamina (52.26%) respectively. The results showed positive linear correlation between total phenolic content and total flavonoid content of different aerial parts of black cultivar of V. vinefera. Therefore, our study emphasizes that environmental conditions of Nashik valley is significantly suitable for biosynthesis of various bioactive secondary metabolites in V.vinefera. Anita V. The present research work has the purpose of performing an evaluation of the service process to students in the payment area, for which a study was carried out employing a reliability of 95% with the simulation technique. A descriptive - analytical methodology was developed with a population sample of 68 students. The general trends in the past decade of increasing solar cell efficiency, decreasing PV system costs, increasing government incentive programs, and several other factors have all combined synergistically to reduce the barriers of entry for PV systems to enter the market and expand their contribution to the global energy portfolio. The shortcomings of current inverter functions which link PV systems to the utility network are becoming transparent as PV penetration levels continue to increase. In this paper an analysis of solar system connected with the grid has been done. The system is subjected with two types of perturbations, i.e. variable load and the variable irradiance level which changes the output of the solar system. The design, modeling, and analysis of a grid-tied PV system are performed in the MATLAB software simulation environment. Solar cell works on the principle of photo voltaic effect, which has nonlinear voltage and current characteristics. These characteristics are improved with the help of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller. MPPT controller helps to feed the inverter with maximum power from the solar system. Results indicate that in the presence of grid disturbances the inverter can react dynamically to help restore the power system back to its normal state. The present study was planned to investigate the effect of dry leaves powder of Ocimum Sanctum L. (Tulsi) on the Hyperglycaemic and hyper lipidemic condition. Total 40 subjects (20 hyperlipidemic male and 20 hyperglycaemic male) were selected randomly from œManan Clinic at Sama area in Vadodara city. Dose of 1 capsule (3 gm tulsi powder) was given in early morning empty stomach and breakfast after half an hour for 45 days to each subject. The total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL, LDL, FBS, PP2BS and HBA1C were monitored before and after supplementation of experimental capsule. After 45 days of supplementation, a significant lowering of the blood lipid profile as well as a significant lowering of the blood glucose was observed in male patients. The study suggested that Ocimum sanctum L. powder capsules had significant reduction in all report but if these capsules are given for longer period of time at least for 3months with higher doses, we get the better results. In this paper, we design controller that combines an observer and a control to handle systems subject to actuator or sensor degradation (including complete failure). The observer contains a pre-filter, an adaptive law, and a modified Luenberger observer that achieves estimation of system state and estimation of conditions of actuator or sensor. Wind energy is a prominent area of application of variable-speed generators operating on the constant grid frequency. This paper describes the simulation, operation and control of one of these variable-speed wind generators: the direct driven permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). This generator is connected to the off-grid load. The generator is controlled to obtain maximum power from the incident wind with maximum efficiency under different load conditions. Pitch angle control is designed to extract the power from the wind when speed is more than the base speed. This paper shows the dynamic performance of the complete system. Malnutrition continues to be a primary cause of ill health and mortality among children in developing countries. In present study, an attempt was made to find the prevalence of malnutrition (thinness/obesity) among school children aged 14-16 years. Methods: A total of 630 students of DN High School were selected and their nutritional status was assessed by using anthropometric measurements. Results: It was observed that prevalence of Undernutrition was high in boys as compared to girls of all 3 age groups and the percentage of thinness among total boys were 16% (n=60), and that of severe thinness was 11.73% (n=44), whereas, among total girls percentage of thinness was 12.16% (n=31) and that of severely thinness was 3.14% (n=8). When compared with socioeconomic status it was observed that Under nutrition was more prevalent among middle and poor income class adolescents. Conclusion: Prevalence of malnutrition was high among boys as compared to girls especially of middle and poor income class. The study indicated the need for repeated interventions for improvement of nutrition knowledge levels in low-SES children. Study investigated the effect of investor sentiment on future returns in the Nigerian stock market for a period covering first quarter of 2008 to fourth quarter of 2015.The OLS regression and granger causality techniques were employed for data analyses. The results showed that (1) investor sentiment has a significant positive effect on stock market returns even after control for fundamentals such as Industrial production index, consumer price index and Treasury bill rate; (2) there is a uni-directional causality that runs from change in investor sentiment (?CCI) to stock market returns (Rm). Derived finding showed that the inclusion of fundamentals increased the explanatory power of investor sentiment from 3.96% to 33.05%, though at both level, investor sentiment (?CCI) has low explanatory power on stock market returns. The study posits existence of a dynamic relationship between investor sentiment and the behaviour of stock future returns in Nigeria such that higher sentiment concurrently leads to higher stock prices. Nutritional status is the condition of health of an individual as influenced by nutrient intake and utilization in the body. Malnutrition is major public health problem in developing countries. Usually referred to as silent emergency, it has devastating effect on children, society and future humankind. The term malnutrition refers to both under nutrition as well as over-nutrition. Total 100 children are included in the study of height, weight, BMI, family history; socio economical history, education and occupation of parents, monthly income, personal hygiene, clinical sign, puberty changes, dietary details, food frequency, questionnaire of child, activity patterns, meal frequency are recorded. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS I9 for mean, percentage, and test. RESULTThe study concluded the nutritional status of government school children was poor than private school children. The prevalence of stunting and wasting was higher and low hemoglobin in government school. Hemoglobin percentage in private school 26% are normal and n government only 4% are normal while in private school 8% are highly anemic and 66% are in government school. There were 36% boys and 36% girls had BMI percentile < 25th percentile in government school, while in private school 32% boys and 20% girls had BMI percentile < 25th percentile. Anaemia is one of the most important global health problems among the adolescents and more than two billion people worldwide are estimated to have anaemia, with majority coming from the developing countries like India. Its adverse health consequences affect people of all age-groups and can result from non-nutritional and nutritional factors. It is categorized as one of the 10 most serious health problems by the WHO. A comparative survey was conducted in schools of rural area and urban area of Valsad district. Total 100 adolescents girls of 16 yrs old (50 from rural area and 50 from urban area were included in the study. The girls were supplemented 50 gm of dates balls for 48 days and the haemoglobin was estimated using Sahlis method. The results indicate that the desirable Hb level was increased from 60% to 87% in the rural area school subjects and 63% to 93% Hb level was increased in urban area school subjects. Less than 10 haemoglobin value increased from 34.8% to 69% in the pre and post blood test results. 96% of the total subjects Hb Values were increased after supplementation of Iron Rich date ball. Study can be conclude that iron rich Dates balls supplementation for a period of 48 days showed a positive impact on serum Iron level. It also improved the blood haemoglobin status of subjects. The study examined if there was relationship between consumer attitude towards mobile advertising and their perception of the informativeness, entertainment, credibility and irritativeness of mobile ads. The questionnaire was used to gather the primary data from of 400 mobile phone (GSM) users in Onitsha metropolis, Anambra State, Nigeria selected through non-probability sampling method. The frequency tables, percentages and Spearmans correlation coefficient were used to analyse the data. The results indicated that entertainment, informativeness, and credibility of mobile advert value leads to 66.9%, 67.6%, and 66.7% positive effect respectively on the consumer attitude towards mobile advertising; while irritation leads to 15.7% negative effect on the consumer attitude towards mobile advertising. The study further posit that informativeness (67.6%) is the most important factor that impacts on consumers perceptions, followed by entertainment (66.9%), credibility (66.7%), and then irritation (-15.7%). The study recommended that marketers need to (i) ensure that messages are sent to consumers at a reasonable time during the day based on consumers preference. Messages should be sent in suitable amount so as to avoid interruption and disturbance to consumers; (ii) seek ways to increase the level of entertainment pleasurable experience that can be derived from SMS advertisements. Obesity is increasingly common in the obstetric population. Maternal obesity and excess gestational weight gain (GWG) are associated with increased perinatal risk. There is limited published data demonstrating the level of pregnant womens knowledge regarding these problems, their consequences and management strategies. This study was done at Nupoor Nursing Home ISO 9001-2008 Certified hospital, City light, Surat. 100 patients were taken for the study. Out of 100 patients 50 patients have gone through regular nutritional counseling and weight monitoring during pregnancy. The study was on the development of weaning food based on wheat, chickpea and ragi and adapting the Malting, Germinating and Popping technology. The composition was done for the physico- chemical and nutritional quality of malted, germinated and popped weaning mix with the control weaning mix with similar composition. The results suggest that the weaning foods based on wheat, chickpea and ragi are nutritionally balanced and possess good growth promoting quality. The traditional technologies such as Malting, Germinating and Popping of cereals and legumes could be easily adapted to prepared weaning and supplementary foods from wheat, chickpea and ragi. The study was planned to determine Bone health in urban population-middle-aged and older people, to assess nutrition knowledge, attitude and behaviour of urban population in relation to bone health, to conduct a BMD test to find the excess of demineralization and to investigate the nutrient intake of urban population in relation to their calcium status by Food frequency and 24 hour Diet Recall method. Total 70 subjects (32 male and 38 female) were randomly selected from hospital of urban Ahmedabad city who were in between of 21 to 70 years age group. The study results revealed that aanthropometric measurements showed that majority of the subjects had BMI 25-29.9 indicating overweight. The bone mineral density test showed de-mineralization in about 77% of the subjects. 100% of the subjects were leading sedentary life which may be the cause of low bone mineral density. The maximum number of subjects (31%, N=22) who showed de- mineralization were found in the age group 31-40 years. The food frequency result showed poor consumption of green leafy vegetables (100% of subjects showed non-frequent consumption of green leafy vegetables) and poor consumption of fruits (100% of the subjects showed non-frequent consumption of Vitamin A Rich and Vitamin C Rich Fruits and only 64% showed frequent consumption of Calcium Rich Fruits). The result showed that the mean energy and protein intake of subjects was found to be low as compared to RDA. As per ICMR calcium requirement about 151% was met in case of male subjects and 136% fulfilment in case of female subjects but 60%-90% RDA could be met in case of adults and elderly subjects when looked into WHO calcium requirement. The result showed that the major source of calcium in diet was Milk & Milk Products with 90% consumption of milk and low consumption of Milk products among the subjects. Thus this study concluded that the result has revealed the sedentary life style and low calcium intake may affect Bone Mineral Density. Dr. Bhavana Y. Background and Objective: Myofacial trigger point is a common problem worldwide. Myofacial trigger points of upper trapezius muscle leads to neck pain and decreased cervical range of motion that profoundly influence all aspects of daily life.The purpose of the study was to compare the efficacy of deep transverse friction massage (DTFM) and ultrasound in relieving pain, improving cervical ROM (lateral flexion both sides) and ADLs in patients suffering with upper trapezius trigger points.Materials and Methods: The study was performed among 20 patients of both genders, aged 18-50 years. Subjects were selected on the basis of inclusion criteria and randomly divided into two groups by convenience sampling and allocating alternate patient group A and group B, 10 in each group. Group A was treated with DTFM (5 minutes), Group B was treated with ultrasound (5 minutes), and both the groups along with treatment receive moist pack (15 minutes), passive trapezius stretching, TENS (15 minutes) and cervical isometric exercise (home protocol). Baseline assessments were taken on the 1st day and reassessment was done on 5th and 10th day of treatment session using NPRS, NDI and cervical ROM and data was analyzed.Results: Both the groups showed significant differences in all variables. DTFM and ultrasound both were effective in resolving pain and improving cervical ROM which further lead to improvement in ADLs. But on comparing the mean of both the groups: Group A showed better results than Group B.Conclusion: This study concluded that DTFM and ultrasound both are effective in treatment of myofacial trigger points of upper trapezius muscle but clinically DTFM shows better results. Background: Flexibility is an important physiological component of physical fitness and reduced flexibility can cause inefficiency in the workplace and is also a risk factor for low back pain. Increasing hamstring flexibility was reported to be an effective method for increasing hamstring muscle performance.Objective: To compare the effects of modified hold-relax proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching technique and static stretching on flexibility of hamstring muscle.Materials and Methods: In this comparative study 60 subjects were selected by convenience sampling and research design was comparative and experiment in nature. Subjects were selected on the basis of inclusion criteria. Subjects were divided into two groups, group A and group B allocating alternate subjects to group A and group B, 30 in each group. Group A was treated with Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation with cryotherapy and Group B was treated with Static Stretching with cryotherapy. Baseline assessment was taken on pre stretch, post stretch and after 24 hours using Active Knee Extension test and Modified back saver sit and reach test.Results: Both the groups showed significant improvement in hamstring flexibility. In the business of banking, banks do not only invest the received deposits to meet future obligations but also to make a profit. The study investigates the effect of asset allocation on profitability Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria. The study adopted a panel regression model involving five selected commercial banks. The data were obtained from the financial statement and annual reports of the selected banks spanning 2011 to 2015. The explanatory variables of the study are liquid assets, equities, loans, securities. The panel Ordinary Least Square regression was employed for data analyses. The findings have shown that aggregate asset allocation variable significantly explains 54% of changes in bank profits. Further results shows that liquid assets, investments equities have positive but insignificant effect on profitability of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria; loan extension of the banks have insignificant negative effect on profitability of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria; whereas investments in security have significant positive effect on the profitability of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria. The study thus concluded that asset allocation is an important financial management tool to enhancing bank profitability, and that investments in securities are veritable channel for banks to improve profitability in Nigeria. Article presents the influence of Nb content on structural properties of stress annealed Co21Fe64-xNbxB15 (x = 3, 5, 7) alloys has been studied using differential scanning calorimetery, in-situ length change measurements during annealing and x-ray diffraction. Results show that, increase of Nb content in the alloy increases the stability of the alloy against crystallization and is also responsible for higher elongation of the specimens. This Articler reports the effect of stress annealing treatment on the structural and magnetic properties of nanocrystalline Fe75-xCoxCu1Nb3Si15B6 & Co21Fe64-xNbxB15 alloys. Information obtained from magnetic measurements, X-ray diffraction measurements and Mössbauer spectroscopy reveal that for Fe75-xCoxCu1Nb3Si15B6 (x = 0, 2, 5) alloys the volume fraction of the Fe-Co nanograins and their grain diameter ranges between 56 to 80 % and 10 to 18 nm respectively. Annealing treatment at higher temperature also resulted in appearance of Fe3Si nanocrystals along with magnetically hard Fe3B, Fe23B type phases which are responsible for higher coercive field values. Presence of cobalt and applied stress during annealing has considerable effect on relative permeability and stress induced anisotropy, which is and perpendicular to the ribbon axis. Due to cost pressure, device complexity and size issue, most of the digital communication receiver designers try to avoid very sharp Anti- Aliasing filter. And because of that aliasing frequency e.g. image frequency e.g. ghost cell frequency appear inside the digital baseband, which apparently remained un-noticed to the receiver. As receiver is blind about that signal so, it processes the aliasing signal frequency as a desired cell frequency and if the aliasing signal is strong enough, then the initial mobile receivers operations like, cell search and camp on etc. will be successfully performed using that aliasing signal. Later, during the uplink transmission time the receiver will discover that it has wrongly camped to an aliasing frequency, as network will not respond to mobile receivers message due to mismatch in DL and corresponding UL ARFCN.Here in this paper, a simple, fast and efficient method is proposed to detect the presence of aliasing frequency in the received digital baseband signal. First the dc power at 0 Hz is estimated using I and Q signal average, then that is compared with the dc power after rotating by p radian (e.g. fs/2 “ half sampling frequency in case of a twice oversampled received signal). If the estimated dc power before rotation is much higher than the dc power after rotations that will indicate there is no aliasing frequency present in the received digital baseband signal. Street vending is an important activity related to informal sector in urban areas as it provides job opportunity and means of livelihood to the urban poor but Urban Local Bodies consider it as illegal activity so far. The present study comprehensively covers the sociological, economic and space issues taking the case of Surat which is one of the fastest growing city and second largest city of Gujarat. In Surat, vendors can be seen all over the city but concentration is very high in major commercial areas that come under the central, west and east zone. Due to predominance of commercial activities in these areas also attract a very large number of people and have become prime location for informal activities like vending. The overall gender distribution indicates clear predominance of male vendors in Surat. Women are marginalized, among most vendor types. About 73% of the space in the natural markets is being used by vendors against movement space for customers and other activities. Opposite relationship has been found between area of the markets and number of the vendors. This research presents a study of investor behaviour for investment in mutual funds in Farrukhabad District, Uttar Pradesh, India. The idea of mutual fund coined in Netherlands in eighteenth century and introduced in India by Unit Trust of India in 1960s. India is the largest producer of banana in the world. In India Banana ranks second next to Mango in area and production, occupying an area of about 83 lakh hectares with an annual production of 46.26 lakh tons. The important banana growing states are Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, West Bengal, Bihar and Gujarat. However, the present production of banana in the country is highly inadequate. It is estimated that, the present annual per capita consumption of banana in India is 50 kg per head which is very low compared with other progressive banana growing countries such as Jamaica, Congo, Equator, Kenya and Uganda. Thus there is an immense scope of increasing banana production in the country. Banana is cultivated in an area of over 8037 hectares in Tuticorin District. This district is one of the major cultivators of banana in the state next to Trichy district. Srivaikuntam and Tiruchendur Taluks are the major cultivators of banana in the district. A major portion of this crop is marketed to other districts / neighbouring state, Kerala. The present study is to assessing the marketing channel of banana, two taluks namely Srivaikundam and Alwarthirunagari were selected for the study. We have interviewed 30 farmers [15 farmers of each block] and 20 intermediaries. There were three marketing channel through which banana was marketed in the study area. Banana is harvested and marketed throughout the year in the region. The banana producers can sell their produce either through pre harvest contract or commission agents and wholesaler. The retailers buy the banana from the above intermediaries. A study to investigate the influence of penstock outlet and the flat blade lateral twist angle on the performance of an existing Pico-hydro system was undertaken. Five penstock reduced from76.2 mm to 15, 17.5, 20, 22.5 and 25 mm diameters at the outlet and a runner with adjustable flat blades were fabricated from mild steel sheet. For each of the penstock outlets, five blade twist angles of 50, 55, 60, 75 and 90-° were tested and the turbine and alternator speed measured with tachometer. The initial and final levels of water in the overhead tank as well as the periods of tests were also measured. The data collected was used to compute the flow rate and power for each set. A maximum computed power of 5600 W was obtained with the 25 mm penstock outlet in conjunction with the blade twist angle of 75o. Also, the maximum speed 1180 rpm of the alternator shaft was obtained for a penstock outlet diameter of about 20.25 mm at the same twist angle of 75o. These results imply that for the system potentially could generate appreciable power using flat blades with the penstock outlets and blade twist angles in the ranges > 20 mm and = 600 respectively. Considering the simplicity of the flat blade configuration, the results indicate good promise for providing relatively cheap, clean and convenient domestic power with further work on the system. The discharge of harmful chemicals and increased combustion of fossil fuels, affect both the physical environment and the public health. Air pollution effects are both acute and chronic on human health, ranging from minor upper respiratory irritation to chronic respiratory and heart disease, lung cancer, acute respiratory infections in children and chronic bronchitis in adults. A study was conducted to assess the effect of sulfur dioxide on air quality at three sites in Athi River town, Kenya which included one non-industrial site. The air samples were collected by scrubbing them through appropriate trapping solutions and subsequently analyzed in the laboratory using colorimetric method. The meteorological parameters namely; temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and wind direction were also measured during the sampling exercise. The mean concentrations of sulphur dioxide at the various sampling sites during rainy season were: Shalom Hospital (602 -µg/m3); Vannilaz Restaurant (793 -µg/m3); Redeemed Gospel Church (861 -µg/m3) and Sabaki residential Estate (370 -µg/m3). The levels exceeded the guidelines recommended by WHO which has set a maximum of 500 -µg/m3, for 10 minutes exposure, however the levels at Sabaki residential Estate were low. Mean concentrations of sulphur dioxide during the dry season for Shalom Hospital, Vanillaz Restaurant, Redeemed Gospel church and Sabaki residential Estate were 863, 875,862 and 664 -µg/m3 respectively. The elevated levels of SO2 was associated with heavy vehicular traffic and the various industrial activities mainly cement manufacturing plants. Sulphur dioxide may also be emitted from diesel-powered vehicles and coal burning in the industries. The study revealed that Shalom Hospital, Vanillaz Restaurant and Redeemed Gospel Church were polluted with sulphur dioxide during the rainy season except Sabaki residential Estate but during the dry season all the sites were polluted with sulphur dioxide. This paper studies the feasibility of utilizing copper mine tailings for production of eco friendly bricks based on the geopolymerization technology. The procedure for producing the bricks simply includes mixing the tailings with an alkaline solution, forming the brick by compressing the mixture within a mold under a specified pressure, and curing the brick at a slightly elevated temperature. Unlike the conventional method for producing bricks, the new procedure neither uses clay and shale nor requires high temperature kiln firing, having significant environmental and ecological benefits. In this study, the effects of four major factors, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution concentration (10 and 15 M), water content (8 to 18%), forming pressure (0 to 35 MPa), and curing temperature (60 to 120 0C), on the physical and mechanical properties of copper mine tailings-based geopolymer bricks are investigated using water absorption and unconfined compression tests. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis are also performed to investigate the microstructure and phase composition of the mine tailings-based geopolymer bricks prepared at different conditions. The results show that copper mine tailings can be used to produce eco-friendly bricks based on the geopolymerization technology to meet the ASTM requirements. The aim of the study was to evaluate the performance of high performance concrete (HPC) containing supplementary cementitious materials in both binary and ternary systems. Concretes were prepared to have a slump value between 60-90 mm at a constant water binder ratio of 0.30.Thetest variables included the type and the amount supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) such as Silica fume, class F fly ash (FA) and Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS). Portland cement was replaced with fly ash up to 40%, silica fume up to 15% and GGBS up to a level of 70%. The physical properties were assessed from compressive strength and transport properties (air permeability and sorptivity), whilst the durability characteristics were investigated in terms of carbonation, chloride migration, chloride diffusion, electrical resistivity and salt scaling resistance. The hydration properties of cement pastes containing SCMs have been investigated in order to understand the behavior of HPC. For Hydration properties, cement pastes were prepared in two series (A and B). Mixes of series A had a fixed water binder ratio of 0.30 with super plasticizer, whereas the water binder ratios of series B were equivalent to the standard consistencies. The results confirmed that silica fume performed better than other SCMs for strength development and bulk resistivity. In terms of resistivity of concrete, the best performance was obtained for 15% SF concrete. When 7.5% SF was used in 40% FA and 50% GGBS concrete, the resistivity was less 15% SF concrete. The ternary mixes containing GGBS/FA and SF performed best amongst all mixes to resist chloride diffusion. The mix containing fly ash showed favourable permeation results. All ternary combinations can be considered to have resulted in high performance concretes with excellent durable properties. The maximum carbonation depth observed for concrete containing 40% FA and 7.5% SF was about 5 mm, which is less than the cover of reinforced steel bars to cause corrosion. The non steady state [2] migration coefficients of concretes containing different types of SCMs were significantly lower than the controlled concretes. The coefficient was minimum for concrete containing 15% SF. The scaled mass for 40% FA concrete was the maximum among all mixes. For concrete containing was maximum among all the mixes. For concretes containing GGBS, there was no significant change in scaled mass, when compared to control concretes. However, the use of 15% SF was found to reduce the scaled mass. The use of 7.5 % SF in 40% FA and 50% GGBS concrete was found to reduce the scaled mass. The x-ray diffraction data showed that with the addition of high volume FA, GGBS and SF the peak intensity of Ca(OH)2 was retarded and quartz peaks appeared in the paste containing FA denoting a certain amount of crystalline silica in FA. This was more pronounced at later age. The combination of 40% FA and 7.5% SF showed the highest consumption of Ca(OH)2. Thermo gravi-metry data confirms the addition of SCMs in cement resulted in the formation of decreased amount of Ca(OH)2 in the hydration products considerably at later age when compared to early age. Although the addition of high volumes of SCMs decreased the compressive strength of cement pastes at early age, the use of 15% SF improved the strength. However from the cost point of view, it is suggested that a combination of 40% FA and 7.5% SF or 50% GGBS and 7.5% SF can be beneficially used to improve the hydration properties and compressive strength of cement pastes. The indiscriminate infrastructural growth is leading to rapid environmental degradation. Steel, cement, synthetic polymers and metal alloys used for construction activities are energy intensive as well as cause environmental pollution during theirentire life cycle. In order to quantify the energy and CO2 savings potential by applying best available technologies like vegetable fibres including bamboo, wastes from industry and mining etc., for engineering applications. In this paper an attempt has been made for finding bamboo as reinforcement in concrete by determining the various physical and mechanical properties of bamboo. The investigations conducted for the tested types of bamboo are evaluated using the same accept criteria as that of steel. This study investigates the Moso type bamboo tensile stress, compressive stress, Modulus of Elasticity, Water absorption capacity, Shear stress, and bonding stress. In general the strength of bamboo is as high as mild steel while, their density is as low as carbon fibre. In this investigation two types of Moso Bamboo specimens were considered. The effect of some cutting fluids (Mentholated spirit, paraffin, and soluble oil) on the flank wear of High-speed steel and carbide tipped tools by orthogonal cutting has been studied. CNC lathe was used for cylindrical turning operated at a speed of 200rpm and depth of cut of 1mm to machine aluminum, brass, mild steel and medium carbon steel workpiece. It was observed that soluble oil with 20% water concentration gave minimum flank wear among the cutting fluids used. The flank wear were .0.002mm, 0.008mm, 0.009mm and 0.012mm for soluble oils, mentholated spirit, paraffin and dry machining respectively cutting fluid using high speed Steel cutting tool and Aluminum workpiece. For the workpiece, aluminum gave minimum tool flank wear, followed by brass. mild Steel and Medium Carbon Steel respectively. Carbide tipped tool also exhibited better flank wear resistance than High speed steel. Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal is the electrical recording of heart activity. The Electrocardiogram (ECG) reflects the activities and the attributes of the human heart and reveals very important hidden information. The information is extracted by means of ECG signal analysis to gain insights that are very crucial in explaining and identifying various pathological conditions, but the ECG signal can be distorted with noise. Noise can be any interference due to motion artifacts or due to power equipment that are present where ECG had been taken. Oilseeds are the second most important and the largest agri-commodity of India after cereals. Oilseed crops play a very important role in the agricultural economy of India which has the distinction of having large area under oilseed crops. The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited is one of the major industries for countrys economic development. The main aim of this study is to assess the factors which are responsible for employees job satisfaction. This paper aims to study relationships in among reasonable compensation and job satisfaction, working environment and job satisfaction, Job Security and job satisfaction. The result exposed that salary is the mainly important factor for influence job satisfaction of employees. Apart from salary, it has been found that the influence of supervisor support, healthy working environment, proper work-life balance, career opportunities and promotion, proper training and development opportunities are furthermore very important factors for determining employees job satisfaction. Electricity sector in India is growing at rapid pace. During the current year 2017-18 (Up to 31.05.2017), the Peak Demand is about 159.6 GW and the Installed Capacity is 330.3 GW with generation mix of Thermal (67.1%), Hydro (13.5%), Renewable (17.3%) and Nuclear (2.1%). To maintain such a big system it is necessary to develop a scheme which overcomes issue of failure of equipment in any circumstances. The smooth running of the criminal justice system is very essential in the socio-economic development of every nation. It helps in curbing criminality and the maintenance of law and order in society. Recycled aggregates consist of crushed, graded inorganic particles processed from the material that have been used in the constructions and demolition debris. The target of the present thesis work is to determine the strength characteristic of recycled aggregates for the application in concrete pavement construction. The scope of the thesis is to determine and compare the compressive strength, flexural strength and sulphate resistance of concrete by using different percentages of recycled aggregates. The investigation was carried out by using workability test, compressive strength test, flexural strength test and sulphate resistance test. A total of five mixes with replacement of coarse aggregates with 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% recycled coarse aggregates were studied. The water cement ratio was kept constant at 0.38. It was observed that workability of concrete was decreased with the increase in recycled aggregates in concrete. For the strength characteristics, the results showed that the strengths of recycled aggregate concrete was comparable to the strengths of natural aggregates concrete. Social network analysis (SNA) is the technique of performing analytics on data found in social environmental circles to understand the relationships and structures of underlying network. With the alarming rise of social media, many different concepts have been brought about through the behavior of people within these network. Of great confusion was how to identify and award credits to members who greatly influence the social network. This paper seeks to bring out the various networks in a social setting. It is known there can be a number of networks that can be drawn from the same dataset, the key objective thereforeis to help in the evaluation of academicfaculty membersin tertiary institutions and prove that those who fill the empty space i.e. structural hole in the network perform better.For a while it has been known that academic networks analysis has been largely implemented based on citation graphs not other attributes like areas of interest, interdisciplinary work and . The major drawback with this kind of analysis is that, the efficiency and homophily (strong ties) that exist between the faculty members outside of their citations could not be uncovered. While some members have low number of citations it however does not imply they are least hard working. Some members perform better in conference presentations while lagging in citations, therefore by imploring the citation graph it entails that these members could not be fully representedby theireffort and contribution to the society. With this proposed model; the underlying ties between faculty members is based on their areas of interestwhich has been an untamed domain. This will be analyzed against Butts structural hole theory and see if it applies to academic institutions. Key questions to be answered are how these areas of interest have influenced fellow colleagues within their network and how it has earned them, if any, advantageous posts in institutions that have various members with different interests in one department. Geochemical study of some stream sediments in Ijero-Ekiti was carried out to deduce their provenance, paleo-redox environment and source-area weathering. The SiO2/(Al2O3+K2O+Na2O) ratios for the paleoclimate during deposition indicates the arid/semi-arid conditions. This moderate climate will give rise to moderate weathering process. The weathering indices (CIA, CIW, PIA and MIA) and the A“CN“K Ternary diagram indicate a moderate degree of weathering of the source materials. The average Th/U ratio of the stream sediments is 1.66, which also suggests moderate degree of weathering of the source material. The stream sediments were enriched in both TiO2 and Zr, which implies that the stream sediments may have originated from a felsic source. The bivariate plot of Na2O-K2O shows that all the samples are quartz-rich, which suggests that they may be of felsic origin. The provenance discriminant function plot shows the samples plotted mainly in the felsic igneous and quartzose sedimentary zones. The TiO2 versus Zr plot shows all the stream sediments plotting in felsic zone; average Cr/V ratio for sediments is 1.49, while the Y/Ni ratio is 0.98; suggesting a felsic source. Bivariate plots Ti versus Ni and K versus Rb revealed that the samples are of acidic/felsic intermediate composition. The ternary plot of La-Th-Sc of the analyzed samples suggest derivation from felsic rocks of granite and granodiorite composition. However, In the ternary diagram of V-Ni-Th*10, all the samples plotted in the mafic source area. Element ratios such as U/Th, Ni/Co, Cu/Zn, (Cu+Mo)/Zn, V/Cr and V/Sc indicate that the stream sediments were deposited under oxic conditions. V/(Ni+V) ratios indicate suboxic to anoxic environment of deposition while the Mn* values suggests oxic and suboxic environment. Henry Y. In existing paper they had used a full month of Twitter data to evaluate SEISMIC .In which the original data set contains over 3.2 billion tweets and retweets on Twitter from Octobor 7 to November 7, 2011.Also they only kept tweets such that it has at least 50 retweets, the text of the tweet does not contain a pound sign # (hashtag), and the language of the original poster is English. Adequate supply of potable table water is a basic necessity for all mankind. Unfortunately,this basic necessity of man has been grossly deprived especially in the developing countries. Water meant for consumption must be potable: free from contamination by microorganisms and possess stable physicochemical parameters. And this is the essence of this research study. In this study, physico-chemical parameters such as colour, pH, odour, temperature and microbial indices: Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Salmonella typhmurium and Streptococcus aureus were investigated in potable packaged water sold in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus, Anambra State,Nigeria. Six different bottled and sachet water samples obtained from different manufacturers labeled B1,B2,B3,B4,B5,B6 and S1,S2,S3,S4,S5,S6, respectively were examined physically, chemically and microbiologically. Physical examination of the samples showed that they were colourless and odourless. Chemical examination of the samples showed they were within the WHO standards for temperature and pH except for water samples S1, B4 and B5 whose pH (8.6; 6.2 & 6.0) deviated from the standard . Water samples S4, B3, B4 and B5 indicated presence of E. coli where as S6 indicated presence of Klebsiella pneumoiae. Streptococcus aureus was present in B3. Background and Objective: According to world Health Organization (WHO) stroke is defined as œrapidly developing clinical sign of focal (or global) disturbance of cerebral function lasting more than 24 hours or leading to death, with no apparent cause other than vascular origin.1 Focal neurological deficits must persists for at least 24 hours, motor deficits are characterized by paralysis (hemiplegia) or weakness (hemiparesis), typically on the side of the body opposite site of lesion.Materials and Methods: The study was performed among 30 patients of both genders, aged 45-60 years. Subjects were selected on the basis of inclusion criteria and randomly divided into two groups by convenience sampling and allocating alternate patient group A and group B, 15 in each group. Group A was treated with Repetitive Facilitation Exercises (RFE), Group B was treated with Hand Arm Bimanual Intensive Training (HABIT). Baseline assessments were taken using WMFT and FMA and data was analyzed.Results: The groups showed significant differences in WMFT and FMA variables. But on comparing the mean of both the groups: there was no significant difference between both the groups. Conclusion: This study concluded that RFE and HABIT both are effective in treatment of patients with hemiparesis. In this project qualitative analysis and controller design of a TI-SEPIC converter for optimal utilization photovoltaic power is presented. This converter is essentially combination of conventional buck and SEPIC converters sharing common components. On the account of the integration load side only one inductor is sufficient enough for performing the power conversion in both Buck and SEPIC converters. Cognitive radio is an exciting wireless technology that has been introduced for the efficient used of spectrum. Water sample were collected from river Benue in five different locations: River MU (A), UAM water works (B), Coca-Cola/Brewery (C), River Agaba (D) and Wildlife Zoo (E). All the five sampling stations are located upstream of the river within Makurdi town. Six heavy metals: Pb, Zn, Mn, Fe, Cu, and Cd were analysed by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS). The concentration of Zn, Mn and Cu fall within the acceptable limit while that of Fe, Cd and Pb were found to be higher than the maximum accepted limit. At the time of investment investors emotional inclinations, ingrained thought patterns, psychological biases, and other factors may affect their investment behaviour. In this context the research work has made an analysis of individual investors behavior of stock market and main focusof the study is to analyse the effect of demographic factors and investor awareness on the individual investor behaviour and the study is done by using the primary data collected from the selected stock market investors in Purba and Paschim Medinipur district in West Bengal. The results of the association between demographic factors and individual investor behaviour using chi-square test shows that age, educational background and experience has significant effect on the individual investor behaviour in all dimensions. But at the same time occupation has significant effect only on heuristics, prospects and herding dimensions and there is no effect of occupation on the market dimension of individual investor behaviour in stock market in the selected districts. While annual income has significant effect on prospect and herding dimensions but no significant effect on heuristics and market dimensions of investor behaviour in stock market. Analysis of the association between investor awareness and individual investor behaviour shows that knowledge of stock market of an individual investor, following stock market news on T.V and attending seminars affects only his/ her heuristics, markets and herding behaviour but it does not affect on prospects behaviour of individual investor in Purba and Paschim Medinipur district in West Bengal. Further, the issue of following websites of the NSE or BSE affects individual investor behaviour in stock market on heuristics, markets and herding behaviour but it does not affect on herding behaviour of individual investor in stock market in this two districts. Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) are collection of wireless mobile nodes. MANETs are infrastructure less temporary networks. They do not have fixed static infrastructure. As no fixed infrastructure is available all nodes itself, work as receiver, transmitter as well as router. These nodes are also mobile so providing stable route is a big challenge. We have different approaches to find route in MANETs and all approaches use some protocols. This paper concentrates upon the analysis of two Mobile Ad Hoc Networking protocols. Ad hoc On demand Distance-Vector (AODV) and Destination-Sequenced Distance-Vector (DSDV). DSDV uses proactive or table driven approach to route the data whereas AODV is a reactive protocol and uses on demand routing. Main target of this paper is to highlight different aspect of both protocols and compare them. So, one can decide which protocol is better suited to their needs. The study examined stock market performance indicators and standard of living in Nigeria for the period of 1986 to 2014. The objectives of the study are to evaluate the contributions of stock market liquidity and new issues (primary) market on the standard of living in Nigeria. The study was structured around an expo facto research design on secondary data sourced from various issues of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Statistical Bulletin, World Development Indicators (WDI), and Nigeria Stock Exchange Factbook. Two models were developed to test the two hypotheses formulated for the study. The models include, standard of living and stock market liquidity, standard of living and primary (new) issues market. Ordinary least square analysis (OLS) was used to test the hypotheses. The result revealed that stock market liquidity and primary (new) issues market have insignificant effect in improving standard of living in Nigeria The study concludes that in spite of the growth potentials of stock market in Nigeria, it has not contributed meaningfully to improvement of the standard of living of an average Nigerian. The study recommends among others that more intensified and stock liberalization is required such that will encourage more productive investment, resulting in financial deepening, economic growth and development and improved living standard of the citizens. Outdoor games and playful workout routines can be the tools that instill not only lasting joy of exercise but also wellbeing of the children. The present research aims to investigate the relationship between outdoor games and lung function of school going children. A cross sectional school based study was carried out among 1926 school going children (10-14years) including both girls and boys from each of the 4 regions of the Union Territory of Puducherry by stratified random sampling method. Through interview schedule information regarding socio-demographic background, health status and lifestyle pattern were elicited. Nutritional status was determined using anthropometric measurements (height, weight and chest circumference) and body mass index. Peak flow meter and pulse oximeter were used to analyze the peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR), oxygen saturation and pulse rate. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 18.0. Outdoor games had a significant correlation with BMI (p=0.010) and PEFR value (0.000). The mean difference in PEFR value between those engaged in outdoor games for<1 hour and 1 to 2 hours per day was found to be 13L/min. The pulse rate was found to be higher among those who spent <1 hour. Therefore, this study concludes that outdoor games have a positive effect on the lung function of children. From recent time Abacus program was used by Chinese, Japanese, Malaysians and Koreans to improve mathematical skills. The improvement in mathematical skills is due to a coordinated functioning of both right and left brain hemisphere. As learning and memory in any field is achieved by coordinating and analyzing the different sensory inputs, whether an abacus learner would also improve the short term memory. A group of 20 children of average IQ between 7 and 12 years from an abacus institute were evaluated for short term memory before and after a period of one and two years. The results showed that the abacus learners at the end of one and two years had a better visual and auditory memory with ability and positive attitude when compared to non abacus learners. Around 25,000 villages are located in remote and inaccessible areas and hence could not be electrified through conventional grid extension in India. The functionality of the system varies across the placed and across the seasons. During rainy season on an average one luminary works 2 to 3 hours. During winter and summer on an average one luminaire works 4 to 5 hours. However, performance declines over the years. Use of kerosene is reducing in rural areas. Nearly 53 to 69 percent reported that there is significant improvement in their childrens education, and 37 to 78 per cent reported that there is improvement in the standard of living after the installation of solar lighting by LEDs. Beneficiaries now spend more time on income generating activities. Crime rate has also declined due to availability of solar street lights in the village. A basic system consists of a small solar panel, a battery, a charge controller, LED lights, and a universal outlet for charging cell-phones or other small appliances. This approach differs from the many for-profit organizations, who use conventional business strategies, simply importing their technology and sell the product with financing to those who can afford it. The increasing incidence of Candidiasis affecting the genitourinary tracts as well as the introduction of new antifungal drugs has recently encouraged the need for performing fungal susceptibility tests. The study was aimed at evaluating the antifungal susceptibility profile of Candida species isolated from female patients attending Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), with suspected Candidal infections between August, 2012 to June, 2013. Five hundred and twenty one (521) clinical samples comprising 342 urine and 179 high vaginal swabs were cultured on Sabouraud dextrose agar. The Candida species isolated were identified to species level using Chromogenic agar and API 20 C AUX test kit. Antifungal susceptibility tests were performed using commercially prepared single antifungal disc (Bioanalyse Turkey). Out of these 521 samples analyzed only 59 yielded Candida species giving the overall prevalence of 11.3% with Candida albicans 22 (37.3%) as the common species isolated followed by C. glabrata 19 (32.2%), C. tropicalis 5(8.5%), C. krusei 3 (5.1%), C. magnoliae 3 (5.1%), C. lusitaniae 2 (3.4%), C. parapsilosis 2 (3.4%), C. famata 2 (3.4%) and C. guilliermondii 1 (1.7%). The antifungal susceptibility test shows that 81.4% of the isolates were susceptible to ketoconazole and only 3.4% to nystatin. However, 33.9% were susceptible, 13.6% intermediate susceptible and 52.5% resistant to fluconazole. Similarly 28.8% were susceptible, 5.1% intermediate susceptible and 66.1% resistant to voriconazole. Additionally 25.4% were susceptible, 11.9% intermediate susceptible and 62.7% resistant to flucytosine. All the C. krusei isolates were completely resistant to azole drugs while C. famata were resistant to all the drugs tested. This project investigated the overall morbidity pattern of the village area including the antenatal cases, immunization status & elderly health conditions. This scheme called Swa-Prerit Adarsh Gram Yojna strives to upgrade the Basic Amenities to bring them at par with those in the Urban Areas and started for betterment of health. The project involved two phases: Collection of Basic data of health and socio-demographic variables by household survey of the village & Specific interventions regarding health problems e.g. RCH, Immunization, Adolescent health, Reducing risk behavior were undertaken. The study was carried out using pre-tested schedule consisting of information on socioeconomic profile, type of living conditions, water supply, History of pregnant females within 24 months, any currently pregnant females, and immunization status of children, any chronic diseases or disabilities in the family. Sex ratio of study population was found to be 1000: 878. Majority of houses were pucca (74.5%), 84.3 % houses had separate kitchen and 15 % families used biomass/wooden fuel, 90.5 % piped water supply, Sanitary latrines were installed in 97.6% houses. ANC registration 81%, TT coverage 98% and Iron Folic Acid Tablet (100 tablets) compliance 94 % .The morbidities were studied. Specific interventions were undertaken to achieve 100% ANC registration, IFA Compliance, TT and complete Immunization from 93% to 100%. Women education plays a very important role in the overall growth of the country. It does not only help in the development of half of the human capital but also improves the standard of living. The progress of the nation or region is shown by the level of education and literacy of its population. Education, particularly among women has been considered as one of the major aspects for socio-economic development of the people of a region. Belagavi district is among the rapidly developing districts in Karnataka with respect to socio-economic and agricultural development. According to 2011 census, average literacy rate of Belagavi district (73.48%) is lower than the average literacy rate of Karnataka state (75.60%).(Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India, 2011) This can be attributed to greater regional disparities throughout Belagavi district in literacy. In this paper, we present Provisional Population Totals of census 2001 and 2011 and examine the extent of literacy disparities at the taluk level. Here, we found that literacy rate in the study area was 64.21 % in 2001 which has increased to 73.48% in 2011. We also found that the urban literacy (85.56%) is significantly greater than the rural literacy (69.28%) which is concurrent to the wider gender disparities from the rural to the urban population. This report presents a study on the effect of partial replacement of coarse aggregates by rubber tyre aggregates on the property of concrete. Utilizing the waste rubber tyers in the form of aggregates as reinforcement in the concrete solve the problem of disposing the waste and increase the flexural strength of concrete. Different tests were conducted on the concrete with varying percentage of rubber tyre aggregates and comparing those results with normal concrete. Data presented includes workability, compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexure tensile strength and flexibility. This report describes an experimental study on mixing rubber aggregates with concrete at different mixing ratios (0, 5, 10, and 15) % by weight of coarse aggregates. Background: Diabetes is considered as a multi system disorder, whose prevalence is globally increasing and is considered as a global health change of 21st century. World Health Organization (WHO) estimates the adults having diabetes in 2014 was 422 million with obesity considered as a major contributing factor. Prediabetes is defined as impaired fasting Glucose or impaired glucose tolerance with fasting blood glucose 100-125mg/dl. Prediabetes is considered as a distinct entity under the classification of ICD-10 with diagnostic code R73-09. Its a reversible condition projecting the last window opportunity against impeding diabetes. Diabetes can be considerably overcome through simple and safe measures to promote health and prevent development of Diabetes from prediabetes.Aim: The study aimed at assessing the effectiveness of Diabetes Risk Reduction package on knowledge among prediabetic employees.Methods: Quantitative research approach with quasi experimental design was used. A total of 178 prediabetic employees aged between 20-60 years, who could understand English and were teaching in the selected schools formed the samples, with 90 and 88 prediabetic employees each from twenty selected schools of Thiruvallur District, formed the experimental and control group. Enumerative sampling technique was used to select the samples. Data was collected using the Questionnaire prepared by the investigator.Results:. Statistical analysis of the background variables revealed homogeneity between the experimental and control group in the pre-test. . The mean gained knowledge score for the experimental group was 8.87 and for control group it was only 0.44 which showed that the experimental group had improved to a great extent. There was increase in post test knowledge score for all the components and it was statistically significant at P<0.001 level.Mild positive correlation was identified between the knowledge and life style.Conclusion: The results indicated that the intervention tool brought significant improvement in knowledge on prediabetes which proved the effectiveness of DRRP. It was found to be simple and practicable for maintaining the healthy life and preventing the progression to diabetes by gain of adequate knowledge on prediabetes.Recommendation: Adequate knowledge on prediabetes can help the employees to prevent its progression to diabetes in future. As we know 71% of Earths Surface is covered with water. Water is one of the most essential element for the persistence of life on this planet. Pure and contamination free water is the dire necessity of every living being present on Earth but today water pollution has posed great threat to the existence of life. The discharge of effluents from various industries into the water bodies are mainly responsible for water pollution specially effluents from leather industry are the most contaminating as along with the harmful chemicals they contain organic matter as well. The dyes disposed by the leather industry are the most harmful for the environment. The conventional physicochemical methods used for the treatment of leather dyes in the contaminated water i.e. coagulation, precipitation, oxidation etc have disadvantages and limitations. This study presents microbial decolorization of leather dye effluents from Shigella sp. isolated from effluent samples collected from leather industry. Different parameters such as temperature and pH were optimized for decolorization of Methylene Blue, Crystal Violet, EosinYellow, Safranine dyes by using bacterial isolates. Optimum temperature for decolorization was observed to be 300c, the optimum pH range for decolorization was found to be from pH6-pH8. All the samples were incubated at 30-°C 150 rpm. The decolorization was measured as decrease in absorbance maxima at 663 nm, 590 nm, 518nm, 530 nm for mehtylene blue, crystal violet, eosin yellow, safranine respectively. This excessive urbanisation has overloaded the limited scarce resources and deteriorated the environmental quality, affecting natural resources and environment. This paper overviews the trend of urbanisation captured by increasing population and variations in temperature from period 1951 to 2001 for the four mega cities in India The paper also examines the trends observed in various indicators of climate change like temperature , rainfall four mega cities of India namely Delhi, Kolkata , Chennai and Mumbai for the period 2001 to 2009 .The paper clearly exhibits the impact on climate change by observing the trends in temperature and precipitation .This impact is captured by computing the correlations between the urbanisation and climate change variables measured as temperature signifying that population holds a very strong significant correlation with temperature variation in all the three mega cities ruling out Delhi. Further the correlation between population, vehicles, temperature humidity and rainfall is computed for Delhi and it is concluded that the rise in population and urbanisation captured by number of vehicles have a positive and high correlation on percentage of humidity as an indicator of climate. This study examines the effect of government agriculture expenditure on economic growth of three Sub-Sahara African (SSA) countries of Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana from 1980 to 2013. The objective is to analyze the growth effect of three agriculture expenditure variables of Agricultural Raw Material Import (ARMI), Agricultural Machinery (AMACH), and Real Interest Rate (RIR) on the economies of these countries; Secondary data are sourced from World Development Indicators (WDI) online Database and analyzed, using Co-integration techniques and Vector Error Correction mechanism (ECM), at 1% and 5% significance levels. The results indicate that none of the three agriculture proxy variables show significant positive effect on growth but rather insignificant positive effect implying that government agriculture financing has a weak effect on growth in SSA. This study concludes that, the SSA countries economies still exhibit the potentials for enhanced economic growth in the long run judging from the VECM test results. The study recommends increased budgetary allocations for importation of necessary agricultural equipment and raw materials, as well as tackle the various identified problems of the sector to enhance economic growth. This study investigates the effect of stakeholder power as one of the three-dimensional framework of corporate social responsibility disclosure. The proxy for employee-related information is the number of sentences used to report issues about the employee in the annual report. The stakeholder variables are decomposed into number of employees, individual shareholders, majority shareholders, institutional ownership and presence of foreign portfolio investors. However, individual shareholders was excluded because of high co linearity with institutional ownership. The data was extracted from the annual reports of selected 50 quoted firms for a period of three (3) years from 2011 to 2013. Descriptive statistics, correlation and pooled OLS regression analyses were performed. The results indicated among others that Nigerian firms used a range of 6 to 19 sentences to disclose employee-related information in annual reports. It also showed that majority shareholders control about 71% of the corporate interest in Nigerian quoted firms while foreign interest was found in about 62% of all the quoted firms in Nigeria. Further analyses with the OLS indicated that stakeholderpower significantly explains 10% the reasons for the disclosure of employee-related information in the annual report of firms. Specifically, the results of the hypotheses testing showed as follows: the number of employees has negative but insignificant effect on employee information disclosure in Nigeria.the quantity of employee-related information made available to the public in the annual reports in Nigeria; Presence of majority shareholding significantly reduces CSR disclosure of employee-related information in Nigeria by 7.4%; Presence of institutional ownership tends to increase but has no significant effect on the quantity of employee-related information made available to the public in the annual reports in Nigeria; and Presence of foreign portfolio investors tends to increase but has no significant effect on the quantity of employee-related information made available to the public in the annual reports in Nigeria. Finally, the ranking of the beta showed that majority shareholding has the highest contribution and thus most influential factors in the disclosure of employee-related information. Based on the findings it was concluded that majority shareholding which forms the major interest in Nigerian quoted firms is highly significant in determining the quantity of employee-related information disclosed. This paper proposes a novel feature representation approach, namely the cluster centre and nearest neighbour (CANN) approach. In this approach, two distances are measured and summed, the first one based on the distance between each data sample and its cluster centre, and the second distance is between the data and its nearest neighbour in the same cluster. Then, this new and one-dimensional distance based mark is used to represent each data sample for interruption detection by a k-Nearest Neighbour (k-NN) classifier. The experimental results based on the KDD-Cup 99 dataset show that the CANN classifier not only performs better than or similar to k-NN and support vector machines trained and tested by the original feature representation in terms of classification correctness, discovery rates, and false alarms. Solar System has an abundant form of renewable energy which has potential to fulfill billions of watt of electricity. During night time, this stored energy is used to light. The device can be used for small-scale lighting applications in remote areas that are far away from the power grid. The modern period witnessed the increased gender disparity reflected in sex-ratio, literacy and education, employment and wage-rates and several other socio-cultural and behavioral indicators of empowerment.(Nangia, 2005) Gender equality is more than a goal in itself. The present paper examines the extent of gender disparity in Belagavi District based on literacy and sex ratio using secondary data. We found that literacy rate in study area was 76.93 % in 2001 which is increased to 82.90 % in 2011 and sex ratio in the study area was 960 in 2001 which is increased to 973 in 2011. There are wide disparities from Rural to Urban sex ratio as well as Rural to Urban literacy rate. The urban sex ratio is higher than rural sex ratio in study area. The Rural sex ratio is 970 and urban sex ratio is 979 females per thousand males in the 2011. We found that in Belagavi district, there is reduction in gender disparities from 2001 to 2011 but the reduction rate is very slow. In Thailand, the environment suitability of the integrated housing for older people is still limited. Thus, this research aimed to apply the concept of Universal Design in the study of the suitability of integrated living arrangements for the elderly and stipulate the design of integrated living arrangements for the elderly in Thailand. The data was collected from the elderly residing in the governments centers for development of social welfare for the elderly. They were 106 participants with four age ranges: 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years, and 75 or above. The study used three types of tests: behavioral interviews and the need for space and utensils, tests on the use of space and utensils, and records of participant behavior. The tests on the use of space and utensils included ten apparatuses: handrails, bathroom fittings, electrical switches, power sockets, door knobs, handles and bolts, stairs, ramps, interior and exterior floors. The results showed that a handrail should be at least 4.5 cm. in diameter and should be at least 5 cm. from the wall and not less than 12 cm from the mounting point. The bathroom should be equipped with multiple handrails to help stabilize the elderly. The wall handrail should be horizontal or L-shaped. The non-wall handrail should be folding wall-mounted or T-shape floor-mounted. The sanitary ware used should be a flat sanitary ware with a height of about 400 mm. The faucet should be a lever type faucet because it was easy to use and it needed less physical effort to turn. Electrical switches should be installed at a height of 120 cm. from floor level while power sockets should be installed at a height of 90 cm. from the floor. Door knobs or level-type knobs should be used because of their ease of use and ease to close with low physical effort. On the contrary, the use of handles and bolts should be avoided. The rise of stair should have a height of about 13 cm. and not less than 47 cm. for the run to accommodate the use of the elderly. The ramp should have a slope ratio of not less than 1: 12. Interior and exterior floors must be covered with a non-slip surface so that the elderly can easily walk or use a wheelchair. According to the need for space, the elderly needed space about 1.44 sq.m. per person for the rest areas. Whereas, sleeping areas should be no less than 12 sq.m. per person. The bathroom should have free space, without obstructions, of at least 1.50 x 1.50 m. Moreover 36 informants were interviewed. First, successive oral free listing and semi-structured interviews were performed. The veterinary diseases as described by the informants were categorized according to the symptoms they cause and the organs they affect. Information on the cited plants, informant consensus factor (ICF) and fidelity level (FL) was calculated based on use reports.Results: Utilization of 49 plant species, belonging to 30 genera under 31 families, has been recorded against livestock ailments. Plant parts, such as leaf, root, flower, bark, resin, and rhizome, are used in the preparation. Among the plant parts, bark is predominately used. Most of the preparations include parts of more than one plant as the ingredients, and many of such combined preparations are used for treating more than one ailment.Conclusion: According to the local people, the most often mentioned species have high medicinal potential. At the same time the comprehensive pharmacological investigations of the herbal plants will be helpful in development of new drugs for a particular condition. Background: Eighty six per cent of Ghanaians have access to improved water sources. However, one in every four people living in rural communities in Ghana do not have access to a dependable and safe water source. When clean safe water sources are not available, households and communities rely on nearby unprotected streams, wells, rivers and springs where the quality and safety cannot be guaranteed. As a result, families and communities become susceptible to diarrhoea and other diseases that have a negative impact on community health and productivity. This paper investigates determinants of sources of domestic water used by households in southern rural Ghana Methods: Socio-demographic factors of 100,634 heads of households from 2 districts that form the catchment area of the Dodowa Health and Demographic Surveillance System from 2006 to 2013 were analyzed. The associations between the households socio-demographic factors and source of water were explored using logistic regression. Results: Gender of household head, level of education, socioeconomic status, marital status, household size and occupation of household head are associated with the type of domestic water used by households. The microbial decolorization of dyes has been of considerable interest biological treatment of the wastewater containing dyes. The bacterial isolate, Bacillus sp. was isolated from the textile effluent sample. Different parameters such as various carbon source, nitrogen source, temperature, pH were optimized for decolorization of Malachite green by using bacterial isolates. Bacillus sp. showed maximum dye decolorization of about 86% at 30-°C and pH 7 after 8 days of incubation. Maximum decolourization of malachite green (75.80%) was observed when urea was used as nitrogen source. High decolorization extent showed the potential of the bacterial strain to be used in the decolourization of malachite green dye. Nanoparticles are recognizing for their applications in various fields of medical sciences and they are also under safety concern. The effects of metals nanoparticles on environment is not yet completely known to us, but some of the study had been elaborated the toxic effects of metal nanoparticles to the environment both aquatic and terrestrial as well as human healths. So, eco-friendly green synthesized nanoparticles are now leading our interest for bio-safety purpose. The aqueous solution of brown seaweed (Sargassum cinctum) had been utilized for green synthesized of Silver nanoparticles. The silver nanoparticles were formed due to the reduction of silver nitrate to aqueous silver ions in the presence of seaweed extract. The synthesized silver nanoparticles were characterized using UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, FTIR and Scanning Electron Microscopy. The biochemical compositions such as carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and starch were estimated for the mentioned species according to standard methods and the total phenol, in-vitro antioxidant activity and free radicals DPPH scavenging activities were also estimated. An educational study was conducted to find out the effectiveness and attitude of community people regarding dengue fever. An estimated 500 000 people with severe dengue require hospitalization each year, a large proportion of whom are children. About 2.5% of those affected die. This study was done to assess the knowledge of community people on dengue fever, to administer a pamphlet on dengue fever and to evaluate the effectiveness of pamphlet on Dengue fever among the community People. Evaluative research approach and one group pre-test post test design was adopted to find out the effectiveness of health education on dengue fever among dengue fever. This study was conducted in community area of Village Madangir, New Delhi. The total sample comprises of 50 people. Purposive sampling technique was used to select the samples. Data was collected through structured questionnaire. Pamphlet was developed and distributed to enhance the knowledge of community people on dengue fever. Data was analyzed and interpreted using descriptive statistics. Pre- test and post test knowledge score was 11.44 and 18.82 respectively. The mean difference for knowledge was7.38 and for attitude was 0.96.The standard deviation for knowledge pretest and posttest score were 2.04 and 0.95 and for attitude it was 1.26 and 0.83 respectively. Interior Search Algorithm (IS A) is a novel algorithm recently developed for solving optimization problems. Though, this metaheuristic has proven to be effective for function optimization on widely used benchmark functions, this algorithm may converge slowly or be trapped in local minima for complex functions. In this paper, a new hybrid approach of IS A is presented. The proposed approach includes a fuzzy logic system for improving convergence of the solutions in IS A by dynamic parameter adaptation. To validate the performance of the proposed algorithm, several comparisons are presented on the basis of benchmark functions. Simulation results demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed fuzzy IS A algorithm. Economic load dispatch is an area of serious attention for reducing the final cost of electric power consumption. Generator rescheduling is done by optimal allocation of generating units to obtain a better effective and economic load dispatch. This paper uses a Newton Raphson technique to obtain optimal power flow for load flow analysis and Particle swarm optimization technique is used to find the optimal generator rescheduling. The proposed technique is tested on standard IEEE 14 bus system. The minimum fuel cost concurred under this technique is the parameter which determines the fitness of the function.
