Abstract :Content-based image retrieval is a technique used for retrieval of desired images via their colour, texture, and
shape features. Features play a major role in an image. The major challenge in image retrieval lies in extracting the optimal
features from an image. Feature extraction is a process of selecting optimal low level feature subsets. It transforms the input
image into a set of features that describes the image with sufficient accuracy. In this paper, three specialized features i.e.
colour moments, Region properties and Grey Level Co-Occurrence Matrix (GLCM) are extracted. This Image retrieval
system using the hybrid features are tested using Corel image datasets consisting of 1000 images from 10 semantic
categories. The efficiency of the system is evaluated in terms of precision, recall and error rate. From the experimental
results, we can conclude that these hybrid features have improved the precision of the retrieval system when compared with
other state-of-the-art methods. |

Abstract :The development of technologies isnt meant only for urban areas, it also need to be deployed in rural areas,
thus our project is an initiative to automate the activities that are done in farmland using IoT. This project includes
various features like controlling farmland appliances sporadically, irrigating different crops depending upon its
required conditions to grow, Temperature sensing, intruders detection. It computes the climate present in the field and
suggests which crop can be cultivated and what will be yield when it is cultivated, Different crops needs different soil pH
for growth and depending upon the soil moisture the crop has to be watered optimally. It makes use of wireless sensor
for noting various environment factors continuously and irrigates the crops through water pumps. This project focuses
on reducing the human intervention and enhances the use of system intelligence in the field. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The artificial pancreas device system is an automated glucose control system that closely mimics the glucose regulating
function of a healthy pancreas. In this paper, we describe a system that is partially doctor controllable and is used to automatically
control blood sugar in people with type 1 diabetes through the fully automated measurement of blood glucose levels and the delivery of
insulin and glucagon. We also take into account the varieties of insulin available and their effective time. When a patients blood sugar
is too high, insulin is given to the patient to bring the blood sugar back to a normal level. To prevent a patients blood sugar from going
too low, the patient is given glucagon which raises the patients blood sugar back to a normal level. The whole system can be controlled
and under observation by a doctor. |

Abstract :Beacon is viewed as an indoor tracking system. It is an excellent way to monitor objects or people in a specific
area. This can be accomplished by attaching a tag to an asset present in a particular area. Then by scattering
Bluetooth signal, RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) measures the strength of the scattered signal thereby
resulting in position acquisition. With IOT flourishing, many researchers expect more than 20 billion connected
devices by 2020. Also with the introduction of 5G (Fifth generation) a request for data can be achieved in less
than 1 millisecond which is four hundred times faster than the time taken for our eyes to blink. With all these
inventions coming into fray beacon enabled smart cities isnt a dream. |

A Novel Sense Amplifier Design for Efficient Memory Read Operation |
Author : K.Gavaskar, V.Malini |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Sense amplifier is one of the most important critical circuit in the periphery of CMOS memory
array structure. It plays an important role in memory (SRAM and DRAM) read operation. The memory
access time and overall memory power dissipation is greatly affected by the performance of sense amplifier.
A novel 9T sense amplifier architecture is proposed in this paper which operates with less delay and low
power. The sense amplifier proposed in the paper operates in two modes. In precharge mode the outputs get
precharged to full supply voltage and in sensing mode sense amplifier comes to active state by enabling sense
input. In sensing mode sense amplifier senses the output of the SRAM cell correctly during its read
operation. Design metrics such as dynamic power, delay and power delay product, energy and energy delay
product are taken into account. All the sense amplifiers were designed using SYNOPSYS EDA tool and
simulated in 30nm technology. Simulation results shows that the proposed sense amplifier provides better
performance than other conventional sense amplifiers. |
