This article is written based on my observation and experience, who “sucked” into populer culture. People inevitably will always “sucked” into the black hole of culture. In popular culture, people are considered to be humans if only they satisfy their libido. So, popular culture can blurring self identity in the society, because communal similarity is preferred. Self identity formed from communal understanding of popular culture concept and “force” someone to follow it. Therefore, the challenge of popular culture to spirituality is very obvious because it concerns a person’s identity. Spirituality always departs from the inside to the outside. While the phenomenon of popular culture, the meaning is controlled by the community and adapted into self. This article written to realizing the importance of spiritual growth in the context of popular culture, which can be done firstly through Christian Education.

Smog disaster in Sumatera and Kalimantan Island that came from forest and land burnings showed many interconnected factors. Governmental ideologies factor in development era (e.g. modernization, industrialization, and capitalization in order to increase economics development), lands problems as an impact of development ideologies, corruption, and prestige culture in society (e.g. consumerism, wealthy, succedness, and honor greediness) had participation in this disaster. From the perspective of ecofeminism, this ecological crisis came from an ideology named anthroposentrism, which also an androsentrism. Human interests that became priority in industrial society, especially men who held economics and politics power, was the cause of these ecological damages. The nature of patriarchal system is domination and exploitation who derived from hierarchal dualistic ideology become sources of ecological damage. In this context, economic development factor and life progress became main concern. Finally nature being grinded and became tools to achieve human interests (anthroposentrism). However, in this context women felt chaos very deeply. Women worked to produce family needs with nature. The damage of nature made women work harder. By seeing these conditions, we were invited by ecofeminism to do radical awareness transformation. This transformation was based on the understanding of our local wisdom.

This essay going to argue that Raimundo Panikkar’s concept of Cosmotheandric Intuition has strong significance in forming an economics spirituality. Economics system nowadays tend to become a system of greediness. By considering cosmology concept such as cosmotheandric intuition and its significant relation, writer made a counter spirituality to all of negative effect of capitalism economics. At the first part of this paper will briefly explain about Raimundo Panikkar and his proposal of Cosmotheandric Intuition. After showing problems in contemporary economics discourse, this paper explain the meaning of spirituality, as a basis understanding to form an economics spirituality. At the part of analysis about economics spirituality, writer wrote counter arguments to capitalist economics system based on Cosmotheandric Intuition. Therefore writer find it usefull to form an economics spirituality based on it.

The ecological issue has become crucial and urgent problem to be responded the logically and practically. This very issue is inseparable from a challenge in the form of catastrophic convergence: poverty, injustice, and violence. Analysis on the ecological problem brought us to trace back the problem of thought contributed by certain philosophical and thelogical thought. It has given birth to an absolute anthropocentrism which has been consolidated by certain theology and in turn gave birth to an expansive notion by way of the mastery over nature, even over other human fellow. The absolutisation of ratio brought about the birth of capitalism (globalized imperialism), which in turn created man as homo oeconomicusin which its keyword is injustice. In the middle of the impoverishing massive ecological damage, there is a different story that showed a local community’s ability in defending the environmental conservation. A small village, Kudangan, in Delang Subdistrict are in agreement “Defending Delang’s Forest against Palm Oil Plantation Expansion”. Theologically, the Delang’s local community see nature (forest) not only as something with economical value, but as a “home” for the Divine. The Divine abide in hills with its leafy trees in Delang’s area. Here, a contextual theology taking into account the local religiosity instilment to help us rediscovering our contextual mission, that which taking into account the primal worldview (read: cosmic religion), whose principal value is be friendly toward nature.
