Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Within the framework of an ethnographic study which we carried out during the 2014-2015 school year in the bilingual classes of Bilingual Grammar School Molyko-Buea, a pioneer bilingual education high school in Cameroon, we observed and video-recorded lessons in the following science subjects: Computer science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technology and Biology. Before observing and recording the lessons, we conducted open-ended interviews with students and teachers. The interviews revolved around their classroom experience and pedagogical practices and their perspectives concerning the simultaneous teaching and learning of non-language subjects and French in an immersion multilingual context. One of the objectives of the study was to closely examine classroom discourse in order to determine whether the linguistic representations of students and teachers were in close correlation with linguistic practices observed in the classroom. An analysis of the video recordings and interviews revealed a correlation between the linguistic representations of the teachers interviewed and the linguistic practices observed in the classrooms. |

Approche terminologique et ébauche d’une description des représentations à l’égard du français dans trois villes du Bénin |
Author : Moufoutaou ADJERAN |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This study analyses the debates and polemics which decorated the many attempts at definition of the concept of representation, but especially note that certain definitions suggested are complementary. We also tried to make our modest contribution for their improvement on the terminological level. It’s also consisted in presenting a draft of the various sociolinguistics representations répertoriables in the towns of Cotonou, Porto-Novo and Parakou. We became convinced that, for the speakers of these cities in general, the French language occupied a choice place whereas the national languages are satisfied with a subordinate place. This dichotomy is also perceptible as regards linguistic statute. Indeed, the statute of official language is allotted to French, while that non official language returns to the national languages. |

Le dit et le fait : quand l’action trahit l’acte de parole dans le français parlé en Côte d’Ivoire |
Author : Ambemou Oscar DIANÉ , Benjamin Irié BI TIE |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :According to the theory of the acts of language, allotted to John Austin, word is act, insofar as to say, is to make. This article wonders about the unconditional validity of this postulate. Indeed, on the basis of the report that the words produced by a speaker X do not translate always a univocal agreement between his word as and his action expressed at the time of this word, we show, through a corpus drawn from conversations of some ivorians, that the research of the comprehension of some utterances should take account of the pragmatic and cultural considerations.

Solécismes dans la presse écrite ivoirienne |
Author : Achi Aimé ADOPO |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Solecisms are syntactic distortions in the construction of the sentence which deviate from the normative use of the language. In the Ivorian written press, some of these deviations appear in a rather high proportion. They include solecisms in the construction of coordinated and juxtaposed structures, solecisms of the verb system in the verbal phrase and those related to grammatical agreements. These syntactic deviations have a semantic incidence on the text, which results in an ambiguous and equivocal discourse, causing misunderstanding between the writer and the reader. Because of the numerous solecisms that creep into its writings, the Ivorian press reveals itself as a press of an average quality with reference to the usage of the French language. |

La segmentation des marchés linguistiques : manifestations et enjeux socioéconomiques en Côte d’ivoire |
Author : Kouakou Mathieu KOFFIK |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :We agree with Calvet and Varela about the fact that “the subject of discussion of linguistics is not only the language or languages but also the social community through its linguistic aspect” (1999). From a semantic point of view, it means that a study that deals with language is to unquestionably take in account social considerations in keeping with it. The issue is to conduct linguistic discussions in keeping with the social context of the concerned community. Our work, indeed, deals with language in keeping with the social body in which it develops and emphasizing on different social overlapping where men are real actors. |

Etudes pragmatico-énonciatives d’une alliance interethnique, les Anakounya : enjeux sociétaux dans l’ouest africain |
Author : Amidou SANOGO |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Relationship with a joke? Cousin hood with a joke? Phratry with a joke? Inter-ethnic alliance? Inter- clannish alliance? Sanankounya poses a problem of definition even if these various terminologies agree around the mocking remark and of their creation. The objective of this article is to revisit the sociolinguistics concept of sanankounya through these circumstances of state and its sociocultural demonstrations.
Moreover, sanankounya, as a communicative resource, covers pragmatic and interactional dimension due to processes of contextualization of the linguistic data. Without judging its orientation, how can we evaluate the interlocutor s admissibility in sanankouyain order to make of it, a factor of conflict prevention? The analysis leaves the assumption that the correspondence between the intention conveyed by the statement of a speaker and interpretation that makes the interlocutor plays a part of regulation in the communication. From the contextualization s indices, which are words and expressions assigned to the customs and habits of the sanankoun s interlocutors, the study examines the pragmatic range of the statement stuttered through this form of alliance. |

Abstract :French language is under sociolinguistic influences in French-speaking territories and particularly in Cote d Ivoire where the nouchi, specialized slang feature, transmits its dynamism to the local French through lexical creations or phraseology and unusual uses those create semantic relationships, meaning effects equally unusual. It is in this sense that the old father and old mother are discussed under to show that the local French uses terms, well known in the French language, which he submits to strong contextualization that will record and give some new meanings in a way to represent local reality (ies) different at several levels of conventional reality originally written in their use. |

Rapport ton consonne et ton bas flottant dans les constructions associatives du Dadjriwale |
Author : Damanan N DRE |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This article examines the relationship between tone and consonant and the issue of the floating low tone in the associative structures of dadjriwale. We cannot study the associative constructions without mentioning the relationship between tone and consonant just as it is absurd to consider these constructions ignoring the crucial role of floating low tone in these constructions. So, in the associative structures, the relationship between tone and consonant and the issue of floating low tone are intertwined. Regarding the relationship between tone and consonant, disorganization is obvious. The distribution of consonants in transparent and opaque group seems to be more relevant in the current state of the evolution of language. Observations are made that determine the disaggregated nature of the relationship between the tone and consonant. In associative structures, floating low tone plays an important role. It has a recursive value, allowing it to operate as left to right. It replaces the tone of the final syllable of X1 and the tone of the first syllable of X2. In some associative structures, its influence goes beyond simply fixing. It is capable of lowering the subsequent tones, if X2 is composed of two or more than two syllables. |
