PRIMEIRAS IMPRESSÕES DO EFEITO DA PANDEMIA DE COVID-19 NAS INSTITUIÇÕES DE EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR BRASILEIRAS DE CAPITAL ABERTO | Author : Vitor Correa da Silva, Danylo Tozzi Martins, Max Costa Machado, Annor da Silva Junior | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This paper aims to identify how the covid-19 pandemic impacted the financial and operational performance of the companies that maintain Higher Education Institutions listed on the Brazilian stock exchange. Methodologically, a descriptive-exploratory research was used with a quantitative approach and data collection from secondary sources. The results suggest that the effect of the covid-19 pandemic was not the same for all companies. Cogna Educação presented a reduction in its financial and operational performance, while Yduqs presented a decrease in its financial performance, but managed to keep its operational performance stable. Ser Educacional presented a small reduction in its financial performance, but also managed to keep its operating performance stable. Anima Educação, however, increased its financial and operational performance during the pandemic. Anima good results during the covid-19 pandemic are supposed to be associated with the company strategic position in the market. In this sense, it isconcluded that the covid-19 pandemic has the potential to generate negative financial and operational impacts, however, such impacts tends not to be uniforms in all these companies. |

| POSSÍVEIS HIPÓTESES ASSOCIADAS À OCORRÊNCIA DE COVID-19 EM INDIVÍDUOS JOVENS IMUNOCOMPETENTES: DESAFIOS CONTEMPORÂNEOS PARA A SAÚDE PÚBLICA E SAÚDE COLETIVA | Author : Fábio Ramos de Souza Carvalho, Amanda Nossa Corrêa, Bernardo Arrivabeni Kenupp, Jean Magno Soares Alencar, Júlia Malacarne Barreto, Júlio César Bridi, Maria Eduarda Almagro Rosi, Mikael Depianti Moraes, Patrícia do Carmo Vidigal | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The SARS-CoV-2 virus was identified primarily in the city of Wuhan, located in China, in December 2019. Since then, the virus has spread across the world, and consequently the scenario of pandemic has been established, been officialized in March, 11, 2020.Thus, infections by SARS-Cov-2 became a severe problem of world health, with thousands of deaths across the globe. The disease caused by a virus infection seems to be severe in patients with immune deficiency, although patients immune competent also develop the critical ways of the disease and die. The main focus of this work is to introduce hypothesis that may be correlated with the severe manifestations of COVID-19 in young and immune competent patients, through a review. For the execution of this work it was made a literary review about the theme COVID-19, thought publications indexed in the main database of free access available on the internet. The results suggest that several factors are related with the critical manifestations of COVID-19, being themthe immune response of the host, the thrombus formations, immune complexes, life habits and genetic conditions. And so, it is concluded that SARS-CoV-2 infection can evolve to the most severe forms of the disease in young immuncompetent individuals, according to the location of the viral infection, lifestyle, the formation of immune complexes and genetic factors. In addition, it is evident the need to develop new research so that these hypotheses are validated or not |
| PANORAMA DA ASCENSÃO EPIDÊMICA DA COVID-19 NO BRASIL: UMA PERSPECTIVA EPIDEMIOLÓGICA | Author : Juliana Morais Limeira, Fernanda Cristina de Abreu Quintela Castro | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The COVID-19,is an infectious disease with a high standard of transmissibility in some geographical locations, which has spread throughout the world, requiring an immediate pandemic response. The study aimed to analyze the epidemiological behavior regarding the new case and death records by COVID-19, according to the different regions of Brazil and the state of Espírito Santo, comparing the results presented in Epidemiological Bulletins numbered 06, 11, 20 and 27 of 2020. An investigation was carried out on the distribution of variables -age group, sex and risk factors. Bibliographic surveys were carried out, in addition to a descriptive observational study, based on secondary data sources in the public domain and a descriptive analysis using Microsoft Office / Excel software. The results showed that in BE 6, the Southeast region had the highest number of cases (5,658) and the highest number of deaths (276), in BE 11 the Southeast region remained as the first in number of cases (19,067) and deaths (1,329), as well as inBE 20 and 27, however, mortality in the North region in BE 11 was similar to that in the Southeast region and in BE 20 and 27 it was higher than all regions, including higher than the national average. To this end, it is emphasized that the economic and human resources differences present in the southeastern and northern regions reveal the inequality and disparity to face this disease in our territory, in addition to the positive impact of non-pharmacological prevention measures on the number of cases in the country. |
| A RELAÇÃO ENTRE O TABAGISMO E A HOSPITALIZAÇÃO POR COVID-19: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA | Author : Luciano Antonio Rodrigues, Adriene de Freitas Moreno Rodrigues, Jocássia Adam Lauvers Patrício, Izabela Silva Breda | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Smoking has a chronic evolution and kills more than 8 million people per year. Therefore, smoking causes extensive damage to individual making them more susceptible to infections. Cigarettes have more than 4,800 toxic substances that cause several morbidities. However, chemical dependency exposes smokers to several vulnerabilities, causing chronic illnesses, such as cancer, cardiovascular and lung diseases. In regard to Covid-19, this disease has a clinical spectrum ranging from asymptomatic infections to severe conditions, mainly pulmonary ones. Thus, the aim of this study is to identify the relationship between smoking and hospitalization and the severity of the Covid-19 infection based on publications with the scope of this study. This paper is an integrative descriptive literature review, with a qualitative approach, carried out in the second semester of 2020 considering the databases of the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and PubMed, by using the following descriptors (DeCS / MEsH): smoking, risk factors and coronavirus, under which 120 articles were found. After applying the inclusion criteria, 17 articles were selected for the integrative review. The results show that smoking prompts a predisposition to several diseases, causes alterations in the defense mechanism, besides incurring greater risks for infection during the act of smoking, contributing to a hospitalization increase and the aggravation of Covid-19. Given that, more strategies for smoking cessation are needed, in order to improve the quality and perspective of smokers’ lives. |
| OS IMPACTOS DA COVID-19 NO ALEITAMENTO MATERNO E NA DOAÇÃO PARA O BANCO DE LEITE HUMANO: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA | Author : Adriene de Freitas Moreno Rodrigues, Julia Portugal Maia, Edilaine Ferreira Santos, Izabela Silva Breda, Jocássia Adam Lauvers Patrício, Claudia Frederico Gabler | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Breast milk is essential for child growth and development, especially for newborns who are hospitalized or those who cannot be breastfed by their own mother. However, given the doubts and uncertainties generated by the Covid-19 pandemic, it is necessary to make recommendations and care for breastfeeding and human milk donation in a safe manner. Theobjective of this study is to clarify the strategies took to face the difficulties of donating breast milk in the face of Sars-Cov-2 infection. This is a descriptive research with qualitative approach carried out through a literature review during the second semesterof 2020. The search was conducted in the databases available on internet, Virtual Health Library, PubMed, MedRxiv e Scielo, using the descriptors: milk banks, coronavirus, breastfeeding; identifying 25 articles. After applying the exclusioncriteria, 9 articles were selected to compose the study sample. In view of the current scenario of Covid-19, there was a reduction in breast milk donation. However, in order to get around this situation, several information and clarifications were published to the population, as well as the adoption of strategies by the milk banks in order to avoid the risk of contamination of Covid-19 through breastfeeding. Therefore, it is necessary to promote greater knowledge to mothers regarding the donationof milk and safe breastfeeding, using biosafety standards and precautions for the prevention of contagion by Covid-19. |

| ASPECTOS EPIDEMIOLÓGICOS DA COVID-19 NA CIDADE DE COLATINA – ES | Author : Fábio Ramos de Souza Carvalho, Lucas Cardoso Gobbi, Ana Luiza Caetano Cavalari, Arthur Grassi Ruy, Izabella Correa Mariano, Lara Nunes Lima, Vitória Rocha Souza, Wellem da Penha Cimero, Linda Christian Carrijo-Carvalho | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :SARS-CoV-2 is a virus of the genus betacoronavirus, which has high transmissibility and affects the respiratory system. It was discovered in China, being at first, as an unknown pneumonia and then was called COVID-19. The global history of the new coronavirus is presented in this study, explainingits worldwide trajectory and the similarities discovered during past pandemics. The objective of this research is to contribute to the data analysis of the new coronavírus in the city of Colatina, in the region of Grande Vitória and in all the state of Espírito Santo. The evaluation criteria included only the cases counted as positive in the period of March 04, 2020 until August 28, 2020, and was based on the official channels of the Espírito Santo State government, such as the website of the State Health Department and the COVID-19 Panel, as well as the epidemiological bulletins released by the Municipal Health Department of Colatina. The result showed that the city of Colatina presented the peak of the epidemiological curve in a different period from the Grande Vitória region. At the end of the analysis, the data accounted a decrease in the number of cases, however, security measures must be maintained in order to avoid a new ascension of the epidemiological curve |
| MENOPAUSA EM TEMPOS DE PANDEMIA COVID-19 | Author : Bruna Fernandes da Silva, Carolina Silva Maciel, Letícia Margon Manzini de Souza, Luciano Azevedo Duarte | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Menopause is a range of significant changes from a physiological, social and emotional point of view. Nevertheless, the manifestations of this phenomenon occur in several ways, under different aspects. This study aimed to present an integrative review of the national and international scientific literature on the relationships between the physiological aspects involved in menopause with COVID-19. The existence of a more efficient immune response to the Covid-19 virus in women was found, but it became lower with menopause, in addition to the protective effect generated by estrogen by stimulating the humoral response to viral infections. It was also evident that the natural decrease in estrogen during menopause causes physiological changes, generating signs and symptoms, which are often related to phytoestrogenic foods that can mitigate such changes. |
| FATORES IMUNOLÓGICOS E GENÉTICOS NA COVID-19 | Author : Linda Christian Carrijo-Carvalho, Lucas Cardoso Gobbi, Victoria Ferrari Paiva, Barbara Binow Demuner, Fábio Ramos de Souza Carvalho | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus occurs through binding of virus S protein to the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ECA2), which acts as a receptor for the virus in human cells. The new coronavirus is the causative agent of COVID-19, with different clinical conditions and, in the most severe cases, can be fatal. The wide individual variability in the manifestation of the disease has motivated discussions in the medical and academic community about the factors that influence the susceptibility of individualsto infection and the worsening of the disease. This article consists of a search carried out in databases of indexed articles, seeking to relate individual genetic characteristics and immune response to the pathophysiology of COVID-19. Different clinical presentations of COVID-19 were observed, ranging from asymptomatic individuals or those with mild illness to severe or critical conditions. It was also observed the report of individuals resistant to infection, even when exposed to the virus. The individual variability observed may be the result of genetic polymorphisms associated with expression of ECA2 or innate immunity errors. Cross-immunity may also be a factor that influences susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 infection providing a certain degree of protection. Individuals previously exposed to other outbreak-causing coronaviruses (SARS-CoV-1 and MERS-CoV) or coronavirus associated to common colds may present antibodies and T-lymphocytes with cross-reactivity to the new coronavirus. On the other hand, the exacerbation of the immune response is considered an aggravating factor of disease, since the intense production of cytokines and the tissue damage resulting from the inflammatory response are part of the mechanisms in the pathophysiology of COVID-19. |
| COVID-19: A EVOLUÇÃO DO VÍRUS NO MUNICÍPIO DE COLATINA - ES | Author : Brunella Ludovico Guidoni Padovan, Érick Henrique Pereira Rodrigue, Mariana Zanette Reis, Herivelto dos Santos Almeida, Mirela Reis Godio | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The SARS-Cov-2 virus, which causes COVID-19, was first detected in December 2019 in the city of Wuhan, located in China. From this event, its evolution in several countries was rapid, and an epidemic was declared on January 31, 2020. With the high rate of individuals affected by the virus, we note the importance of assessing its evolution in individuals living in the municipality of Colatina -ES to better understand its transmission and identify its aggravating factors. In this scenario, the objective of this study was to analyze the evolution of COVID-19 between the months of January to August 2020 in the municipality of Colatina -ES. This is an observational, cross-sectional study of the descriptive type, which used secondary data based on the Panel COVID-19 -ES of the State Health Secretariat of Espírito Santo -SESA. The incidence of COVID-19 cases in the municipality of Colatina during the study period was 43.12 / 1000 inhabitants. Among the cases, there was a higher prevalence in females 55.4% (n = 2,946) compared to males 44.6% (n = 2,376). There was a greater infection in individuals affected by cardiac comorbidities, as well as a greater number of cases occurring in July. It was also found that individuals aged between 30 and 39 years were the mostinfected and the highest rate of infections occurred in the neighborhoods São Silvano, Maria das Graças and Centro. Thus, it is necessary to adopt restrictive measures of social distance in order to reduce the incidence of cases. |
| AVALIAÇÃO DE RISCO DOS MEDICAMENTOS USADOS PARA O TRATAMENTO DE COVID-19 EM GESTANTES INFECTADAS E TRANSMISSÃO VERTICAL | Author : Thainara Aparecida Fernandes, Thieissa Moraes Venturotti, Fábio Ramos de Souza Carvalho | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :COVID-19 is a disease that affects the respiratory system and has a high transmissibility and dissemination power. It was first registered in December 2019 in Wuhan, China province. Currently, this viral range is responsible for one of the biggest pandemics that the world has ever seen. Its spread is easy to implement and a worrying rate of occupancy of hospital beds, reaching a lethality rate in the world that varies between 2% to 4% and in Brazil of 3.9%, according to the Ministry of Health. The scientific class has been trying every day to learn more about its pathophysiology, to discover the best treatment options and prophylaxis for this pathogen. In April 2020, the subgroup of pregnant women, lactating women and puerperal women entered the high-risk population for this disease. The treatments tend to be limited, taking into account not only the mother, but also the binomial mother and fetus. Another important point to draw attention to was the few, but existing, records of possible placental transmission, which points to the great importance of improving the theme. In response to the absence of concise information, considering therapeutic and vertical teratogenicity proposed in cases of pregnant women infected with COVID-19, this article aims to make the manifestation of the importance of knowing more about this issue more insistent in that risk subgroup. |
| ASSISTÊNCIA DE ENFERMAGEM À GESTANTES ATENDIDAS NOS SERVIÇOS DE SAÚDE EM TEMPOS DE PANDEMIA: COVID-19 | Author : Meiry Hellen Marquardt, Luisa Falcheto Bertoldi, Fábio Ramos de Souza Carvalho | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :During any epidemic of infectious diseases, pregnant women constitue an extremely sensitive group, due to altered physiology and immune functions, and therefore, susceptibleto infection, making the assistance provided in obstetric and neonatal care services essential. The main purpose of this study was to describe nursing care for pregnant women who use health services in the midst of infection with the new coronavirus, clinical characteristics, in addition to maternal and neonatal outcomes. This is a descriptive study, characterized as a narrative literature review, in the period from 2019 to 2020. The SciELO, LILACS and MEDLINE databases, and the Health Sciences Descriptors were used: “healthcare nursing "," pregnancy"," new coronavirus ". It is suggested that care for this group should not be interrupted, even in the face of pregnant women with the flu syndrome or with COVID-19 infection, it is recommended that there be fetal surveillance as well as the assessment of intrauterine growth. Symptoms of pregnant women who tested positive for Covid-19 were similar to those of other adults. It was also observerd an increase in the number of caesarean sections, premature rupture of membranes, preterm delivery, fetal tachycardia, non-tranquilizing fetal status, fetal death, but, no case of abortion was reported. It is concluded that special care must be taken in pregnancy management and in making decisions about terminating pregnancy and handling the newborn, in order to minimize the risk of subsequent health consequences. Further studies are needed to better assess the possibility of this transmission route, as well as the possible repercussions during pregnancy.

| COMPLICAÇÕES MATERNAS ASSOCIADAS À INFECÇÃO POR SARS-CoV-2: UMA REVISÃO NARRATIVA DE LITERATURA | Author : Thalita Cossuol de Souza, Jackelyne Lopes Silva, Fábio ´Ramos de Souza Carvalho | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Pregnancy is a physiologicalstate that predisposes women to infections. In addition to the impact of COVID-19 infection on pregnant women, there are concerns related to the potential effect on fetal outcome. Therefore, pregnant women constitute a group that requires special attention in relation to prevention, diagnosis and management. The present study aimed to describe the repercussions of SARS-CoV-2 infection during pregnancy. It was investigated, from the literature available in standardized databases, the main maternal symptoms and clinical evolution. It was found that pregnant women at the end of pregnancy had clinical manifestations similar to non-pregnant women, with risk of hospitalization in an intensive care unit, which could progress to a state of critical maternal illness. Risk of fetal distress, premature birth, higher rate of cesarean section and premature rupture of membranes were the most common outcomes. The study raised concerns about the possibility of mother-to-child transmission of the virus to the fetus. Considering the scarcity of clinical evidence that allows a consensus on the subject to be established, further studies in the area are recommended to understand maternal outcomes and gestational repercussions.

| USO DO NUTRIC SCORE EM DIFERENTES SITUAÇÕES CLÍNICAS RELACIONADAS À FORMA GRAVE DA COVID-19 | Author : Jackelyne Lopes Silva, Márcia Franciele França Tellau, Fábio Ramos de Souza Carvalho | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The intensive care environment has a high prevalence of nutritional risk, and critically ill patients respond differently to therapeutic measures related to artificial feeding. Considering it, the main purpose of this study was to evaluate the applicability of the NUTRIC Scoretool in the detection and discrimination of nutritional risk in patients with clinical situations related to the severe form of SARS-CoV-2 infection, considering the need for an instrument whose application is independent of direct contact with the infected patient. This is a descriptive study characterized as a narrative review. The articles were selected from the PUBMED databases, compiled and read in full for the construction of this narrative. Studies published between the years 2015 and 2020 were considered. It was observed that the NUTRIC Scoretool is effective for assessing nutritional risk in patients dependent on mechanical ventilation and on enteral nutrition. It is not a substitute for traditional protein depletion assessments for nitrogen loss, urea analysis and urinary creatinine. High scores on the NUTRIC Scorehave a high correlation with increased time of dependence on mechanical ventilation, Intensive Care Unittime and hospital death. In this sense, the assessment by the NUTRIC Scorecan be used as a strategy to maintain effective and early care of EMTN in critically ill patients infected with SARS-CoV-2.

| TRATAMENTOS FARMACOLÓGICOS E IMUNOTERAPICOS NO SARS-COV, MERS-COV E SARS-COV-2 | Author : Gabriela Stefenoni Costa, Thainara Aparecida Fernandes, Fábio Ramos de Souza Carvalho | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Pharmacological treatment is essential in viral attenuation, preventing further clinical outcomes from worsening. Coronavirus is a pathogen with a high capacity for virulence and contagion, being able to trigger outbreaks at a high speed. As demonstrated in the SARS-CoV outbreak, MERS-CoV and the most recent SARS-CoV-2 outbreak in 2019, which had a greater proportion, calling itself a worldwide pandemic. This study aims to address aspects of pharmacological and immunotherapeutic treatments used in coronavirus outbreaks, exposing beneficial and harmful characteristics about a therapy used. It is a descriptive study, carried out a narrative review, using data from the period 2003 to 2020, using as databases the National Library of Medicine (Pubmed), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciElo) and Center Diseases Central (CDC). For data validation, a binary selection of articles was adopted, which were treated in the Minitab® software. It can be seen that the treatments adopted between the SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV outbreaks were similar. In theSARS-CoV-2outbreak, the therapeuticchanges were clear, in which drugs with antiviral action were used in an OFF LABEL manner, including drugs in an attempt to reduce the new recurrent risks demonstrated in infected patients. It is concluded that the coronavirus has ahigh virulence rate, andnumbers of infected people increase in a gigantic proportion, and, many times, clinical studies cannot keep up with demand. The pharmacotherapy used has been more effective in SARS-CoV-2 compared to other outbreaks, because, precisely, it has more clinical information on how to fight the virus. |

| GESTAÇÃO E PUERPÉRIO EM TEMPOS DE COVID-19: ASPECTOS CLÍNICOS E MANEJO TERAPÊUTICO | Author : Márcia Franciele França Tellau, Gabriela Stefenoni Costa, Fábio Ramos de Souza Carvalho | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The infection caused by the new coronavirus, has high transmissibilitywhich has reached many countries becoming a state of emergency in public health worldwide. Postpartum women and pregnant women are part of the risk group, as their physiological state is constantly adaptively and mechanicallychanging, becoming more susceptible to infections. This study aimed to elucidate the therapeutic management and the clinical aspects in pregnant and postpartum women against Covid-19. This is a narrative reviewstudy that seeks to elucidate the critical view on the given subject. The National Center For Biotechnology Information (PubMed) scientific database was used.It was foundthat most of the articles included in the research contained clinical information about the pregnant women, but little information about the puerperal women. The use of some non-retroviral antivirals did not show teratogenic effects to the fetus, which showed a reduction in viral load. The clinical aspects of this group included odynophagia, anosmia, fever, among others, with an extension of symptom improvement when compared to non-pregnant women. It presented the increase of theincidence of susceptibility to infections and therate of abnormal liver transaminases. Pregnant women usually represent a unique group and are vulnerable to infectious diseases, so it is very important to include them in the Covid-19 risk group. In general, there is no specific and effective drug for the treatment of Covid-19 during pregnancy, however, Chloroquine, Lopinavir, Ritonavir or Interferon-alpha are mentioned and have shown positive results in the treatment ofCovid-19 in pregnant women. |

This agent causes pulmonary impairment in humans that can be mild, moderate or severe. Advanced manifestations of the pathology include Acute Hypoxemic Respiratory Insufficiency (ARF Type 1) and Acute Respiratory Discomfort Syndrome (ARDS). The evolution of the severe form of the disease, when not diagnosed and treated early, can result in death. The objectives of the present study were to provide information about COVID-19 in dogs and cats, as well as the potential for transmissibility to humans. A descriptive study was carried out as a narrative review of the literature. Descriptors in Health Sciences related to Covid-19 were used:transmissibility, humans, dogs and cats. The electronic base searched was Google Scholar. The selected articles showed that dogs can become infected, but there is not much scientific information to prove their clinical manifestation and the transmissibility of COVID-19 from dogs and cats to humans. However, questions related to the topic cannot be ruled out. It is believed that these bibliographic findings may represent high importance, as there are currently some questions about the possibility of human-animal transmission. There is no proven scientific information that dogs and cats are important transmitters in the epidemiological chain of COVID-19, requiring further studies and continuous monitoring of pets. |
| CONSIDERAÇÕES SOBRE CÃES E GATOS E COVID-19: TRANSMISSIBILIDADE E INFECÇÃO | Author : Alana Carmela Ferrareis Cerqueira, Meiry Hellen Marquardt, Fábio Ramos de Souza Carvalho | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :A severe pneumonia began to affect an increasing number of people in China in December,2019. The isolated agent indicated that it was a Coronavirus, similar to the virus that had previouslycaused the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome -SARS-Cov, making it called SARS -Cov-2. The lack of knowledge about its etiology and reports about the isolation of the agent in dogs and cats, raised questions about its importance in the course of the disease. The purpose of this article is to bring more information about the possibility of transmitting the disease from humans to dogs and cats, the ways of contagion and the probability of the virus spreading from these animals. Based on reported cases and bringing information about studies and experiments already carried out, which showed the inability of the virus to multiply and become contagious, even in cases where the infection of domiciled dogs and cats occurred.
