Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The paper presents the results of the study on the structure of the rapid cooled alloy for which an amorphous structure was obtained. The alloy to be tested is based on iron. Pre-treatment of the sample was carried out by the arcing of melt components in a protective atmosphere of argon. A rapid cooled alloy was produced by a liquid alloy casting method on a copper spinning roller. For this sample, structural studies were performed using a Mössbauer spectroscopy. |

Author : Intan Nashasha Amira IBRAHIM, MOHD Arif Anuar MOHD SALLEH* |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :
Sn-Pb solder alloy has been replaced with lead-free solder alloys due to the negative effect for environment and human health. The additions of Zinc (Zn) micro-alloying element in Sn0.7Cu lead-free solder alloy were reported by several researchers in improving the performance of Sn-0.7Cu solder alloy. This paper reviews the research findings available on the additions of zinc micro-alloying in Sn-0.7Cu solder alloy. It can be concluded that zinc micro-alloying additions were reported to improve the mechanical properties, phase analysis and microstructure of the solder free solder joint.

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Sol-gel method opens new possibilities for synthesis of nanomaterials with application in biotechnology and medicine as matrices for immobilization of cells, enzymes and other biomolecules. The main purpose of the present work is to study of the sol-gel synthesis and the structure of silica hybrid nanomaterials containing different quantities of organic component. FT-IR spectra show that in hybrids synthesized by ETMS or MTES strong chemical bonds are observed. The average size of nanoparticles on the sample surface is about 20 - 50 nm and formation of self-organized structures is observed |

A STUDY OF TEMPERATURE REDUCING OF HIGH VOLTAGE SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT OF ELECTROSTATIC AIR CLEANER BY APPLIED THERMOELECTRICITY |
Author : Siseerot KETKAEW * |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This research paper presents a study of temperature reducing of high voltage switching power supply circuit of electrostatic air cleaner by the application of thermoelectricity as this air cleaner uses electric field’s force technique based on electrostatic precipitator (ESP) and high voltage with direct current to switch power supply. The power supply is based on a fly-back converter. The converter is designed to operate at high frequency with more than 19 kHz while Power MOSFET is switching the device through high voltage high frequency fly-back transformer#TLF14649. The circuit is capable of generating up to 4 kVdc for ionization part and collector part in air filter. The problem incurred is the heat coming up in high voltage switching power supply resulting in high consumption rate of electrical power. Therefore, the researcher tried to find a way to reduce the temperature of high voltage switching power supply by using cool air produced from thermoelectricity to observe its electrical power consumption rate. In testing, we measured temperature at high voltage switching power supply circuit and the electrical power consumption rate of air filter before and after the installation of cool air production system from thermoelectricity. The testing result appears that before installation, cool air production system from thermoelectric temperature is 27¬ and power consumption is 26.7W, while after the installation of cool air production system from thermoelectricity, the temperature is 23¬ and power consumption is 22.9W. Therefore, it is concluded that cool air production system from thermoelectricity can reduce the temperature and reduce electric consumption power of air filter resulting in lessening electricity bills. In future, the researcher will develop an application of cool air system from thermoelectricity to reduce temperature in other industrial systems to cut down electrical consumption of the country. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :A protocol for determination of the content of dye in ? mixture for orange smoke grenades was proposed. The protocol was based on spectrophotometric determination of the dye 1.4- dihydroxyanthraquinone in DMSO solutions. The Beer’s law is obeyed in the concentration range of (0.5 -1.2) x10-5 mol/l dye with molar absorptivity 7.3x103 L/mol.cm. The protocol is very fast and show good accuracy (recovery 98.6 - 103.6 %) and precision (RSD 3.8%). The protocol was applied in model and real samples. |
