Study on Inorganic Schiff base complex using Thermal analysis and Biological Activity |
Author : P. Dhanakodia and M. Jayandran |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Synthesis Cu (II) - macrocyclic Schiff base complex has been prepared via Cu (II) templated [1+2] cyclocondensation of aldehyde with the symmetrical 1,4-bis(3-aminopropyl)piperazine. This Schiff base complex plays a vital role in many drug industries and various phytochemical activities. This complex has been characterized and analysed using Thermal analysis, SEM analysis and subjected to biological activities. |

Abstract :Besides curing diseases daily consumption or use of medicinal plants controls many fatal diseases like cancer medicinal plants are the oldest form of healthcare known to mankind. From the ancient time people are using different herbs or plants as the remedy for various diseases. But now a days people have become dependent on synthetic medicines which have much side effects. So to reduce the side effects we can use medicinal plants for the treatment of common diseases rather than using drugs. Based on the evaluation on drugs this study basically focused on the plant extract Cassia senna leaves were analysed and reported by phytochemical and biological activity. |

Spectral Investigation and Phytochemical analysis study on Clerodendrum phlomidis |
Author : Vidyadharani Gopalakrishnan and Gnanavel sadhasivam |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Medicinal plants are a rich source of bioactive phytochemicals or bionutrients. Studies carried out during the past 2– 3 decades have shown that these phytochemicals have an important role in preventing chronic diseases like cancer, diabetes and coronary heart disease. There is, however, much scope for further systematic research in screening Indian medicinal plants for these phytochemicals and assessing their potential in protecting against different types of diseases. Studies were confirmed TLC and FTIR spectral analysis. |

Spectral Studies of Nickel (III)-Tetradecylamine Complexes |
Author : Jayandran M |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :A characteristic feature of the transition metals is their ability to form complexes with a variety of neutral molecules such as bipyridyl and phenanthroline ligands. These are widely used as a classical N,N’-bidentate ligands to prepare mixed-ligand complexes in coordination chemistry. The micelle forming capacity of these surfactant Nickel (III) complexes can be predicted by knowing the critical micelle concentration value. The CMC values can be compared with that of the other well-known organic surfactants. As a part of our studies we have been interested in the synthesis and micelle-forming properties of transition metal-based surfactants. This section aims at the synthesis, characterisation and determination of CMC values of some novel Nickel (III) surfactants containing single chain and double long chain aliphatic amines as a coordinating ligands. The antimicrobial activities of the Schiff bases and their complexes are reported against both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, as well as fungi. |

Natural Product L.Acidissima Extract for prevention of Low Carbon steel-A Study |
Author : P.Matheswaran, B.Anand, S.Loganathan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The effect of inhibition over the mild steel in 1N HCl medium was studied using isolated extract of L.Acidissima from ethanol extract of L.Acidissima Plant material. Weight Loss measurement shows better efficiency of this inhibitor. Further it was confirmed by Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization techniques. Inhibition was found to increase with increasing concentration of the L.Acidissima extract. Many techniques have been described measuring and inhibiting influenced corrosion however none has been accepted as an industry standard. The results obtained show that the isolated extract of L.Acidissima from ethanol extract of L.Acidissima Plant material inhibits the mild steel material in an effective manner in 1N HCl medium.
