Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Radio Frequency Energy Harvesting (RFEH) is a technology which enables wireless power delivery to multiple devices from a single energy source. The main components of this technology are the antenna and the rectifying circuitry that converts the RF signal into DC power. RF energy harvesting holds a bright future for generating a small amount of electrical power to the circuits in wireless communication electronics devices. Wireless power transmission was developing a thought nearly a century ago. Many achievements are made till date which have made power harvesting a reality and capable of providing alternative sources of energy. This includes a resonant voltage boosting network, which provides high bias from a small signal and a rectifier that produces DC voltage. The RFEH gives very good efficiency performance, if a single antenna is considered the maximum power delivered is generally not enough to power all the elements of a system. Since the energy harvesting circuits are designed to operate with very small number of voltages and currents, they are depends on the electrical technology for obtaining high efficiency |

Peer-To-Peer File Sharing |
Author : Pravin Choudhary |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :File sharing is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing system that consists of a network of computing devices that work together to form a single system. The implementation of Web RTC for file sharing proved to be effective. The system shares files completely peer-to-peer. It just needs a third peer to act as a signaling server to help these peers to know how to connect to each other. The current stage of the project is capable of sharing file,video/audio streaming between two devices. Multiple devices in a network need more complex management. The system must have no single point of failure and there must not be a need for users to trust each other. The using Web RTC helps to stream real time video and audio buy converting it into a continuous array buffer. Every connection attempt generates a new unique id. The data transferred needs to be converted into an array buffer before sending it and at the receiver peer the array buffered data is converted into blobs.STUN servers are used to get the actual users IP address. Whenever the connection between the two peers is not possible then the TURN (Traversal Using Relays around NAT) server is used for establishing the connection. |

Author : Priyank Shah |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Handwriting recognition has achieved tremendous success in the real world. It has various
applications such as equation solver, automation etc. Researchers have proven how recognition of handwritten
language characters is done by using a three step procedure using Machine learning algorithms. Moreover OCR
method allows to convert data from physical to digital. Some researchers have also discovered that colossal
amounts of handwritten documents must be digitally available when this handwritten recognition manifests, as
machines must understand the handwritten text. With technical advancements, researchers found better efficiency
using the deep learning model than machine learning models. In this paper survey is done to show which
algorithms are useful for handwritten text recognition, as many machine learning algorithms have shown that
handwritten strings under complex conditions cannot be accurately recognized where deep learning algorithms
work perfectly with high precision big data |

Density Based Traffic Light Control |
Author : Akshay Chauhan |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The project is aimed at designing a density based dynamic traffic signal system where the timing of
signal will change automatically on sensing the traffic density at any junction. Traffic congestion is a severe
problem in most cities across the world and therefore it is time to shift more manual mode or fixed timer mode to
an automated system with decision making capabilities. Present day traffic signalling system is fixed time based
which may render inefficient if one lane is operational than the others. To optimize this problem, we have made
a framework for an intelligent traffic control system. Sometimes higher traffic density at one side of the junction
demands longer green time as compared to standard allotted time. We therefore propose here a mechanism in
which the time period of green light and red light is assigned based on the density of the traffic present at
that time. This is achieved by using IR (proximity Infrared sensors). |

Speed Control of DC Motor by Various Methods |
Author : Aditi Gijbile |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :DC motors are easier to control than AC motors; hence they are widely used in industries where
speed is varied according to the requirement. Speed Control mechanism in DC motor is that we cannot change
their speed like the way we change the speed of synchronous motor or induction motor by changing their input
voltage frequency. Instead, methods like flux control, voltage control are applied to control speed. Therefore,
DC motors are preferred over AC motors. Hence, there is a need for a speed control method that will help us
control the motor’s speed efficiently. In this system, we focus on making a system in which can help students to
get to know about the speed control methods used for a dc motor. Here we use three types of speed control
methods for DC motors are used viz. Speed Control Using Arduino Nano, Chopper Circuit, and Pot-Transistor
Circuit. These speed control methods can be used consecutively. |

A review on the perception and recognition systems for interpreting sign languages used by deaf and mute |
Author : Suyash Koltharkar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Extensive research conducted across several fields revealed that hearing impairment and inability to
verbally communicate lead to inequality of opportunity, as well as problems even in everyday life. Despite being
a very useful medium of communication for deaf and mute people, sign language has no meaning for someone
who does not understand it. The identification of these hand gestures is done by one of the two methods. Static
images are one method of identifying while dynamic gestures are another. After skimming through the previous
research, many limitations were exposed. The existing systems offered high accuracy rates upon feeding static
images but the accuracy dropped significantly when dynamic inputs were fed. Some systems achieved good
accuracy rates when fed with dynamic input but their scope was inadequate. After analyzing these techniques and
identifying their limitations, we conclude with several promising directions for future research. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :In India registering a property is a very time consuming process which involves middlemen brokers, time
delays and human errors which increases the risk of fraudulent cases. These problems can be eliminated by the usage
of Blockchain Technology for Land Registry Management in India. Blockchain Technology has a very useful role in
the Land Registration Process because of the various security and immutability features it offers as well as it removes
the middlemen involved in the process of land registry. The irreversible and non-hackable attributes of a blockchain
are useful to implement Blockchain solutions in the Land Registry Process. By utilizingdigital signatures in all stages
of land registry, the total time of doing a deal isreduced from several months to few days. The implementation of smart
contracts would quicken up the process by automatically updating the ledger, instead of buyers having to transfer
ownership through an application form. Blockchain can also solve problems which are present in the current
centralized system which can provide an easy and secure way to store and retrievethe property papers and also notify

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Rehabilitation and strengthening of old structures using advanced materials is a contemporary research in the field of Structural Engineering. Over the past decades, much research has been carried out on shear and flexural strengthening of reinforced concrete beams using different types of fibre reinforced polymers and adhesives. Strengthening of old structures is necessary to obtain an expected life span. Such a method of strengthening of old structures by the help of new technology is termed as retrofitting . Life span of Reinforced Concrete structures may be reduced due to many reasons, such as deterioration of concrete and development of surface cracks due to ingress of chemical agents, abrasion and cavitation in hydraulic structures caused by fast moving water, improper design and unexpected external lateral loads such as wind or seismic forces acting on a structure, while are also the reason for failure of structural members. High tensile strength of specific fibres like glass fibres, carbon fibres etc. found its application in increasing the strength of new RCC structures as well as strengthening of older and worn out structures |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The frequency of flooding in urban areas has increased drastically over the years. Urban flooding also results in various other negative effects such as deterioration of quality of water, economical losses and loss of life. Similar conditions were noticed in the regions of Vasai-Virar. Tons of rainwater has to be allowed to flow to the bottom of the ground and to avoid calamity. This idea is analogous to the strategies and developments already adopted within the Western world. During this paper, new constraints on the interactions between the sponge facilities, the landscape and therefore the subsoil are identified for a hilly, sub-tropic terrain. Urban storm water runoff generates a volume of water of the identical order of magnitude because the domestic wastewater volume. However, the impact of wastewater use on crop production, crop change, human health and also the environment must be fully considered. Although, Sponge City may be a Chinese concept. This paper constitutes the various challenges and opportunities for the flood mitigation in the Vasai-Virar region. This paper presents the collective overview of research done in this domain which will be useful for those who are willing to do some further research. At the end of the paper some future research areas may also be discussed. |

Analysis And Designing of Composite Railway Sleeper |
Author : Nihar Patil |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Railway sleepers are one of the most important elements of the railway track system. Although timber sleepers are still the most common, use of pre-stressed concrete and steel materials is also increasing. In addition, ties produced using recycled materials are of interest, recently. By recycling plastic waste, considerable amount of money can be kept from ending up in the landfills. Composite sleeper has become a great replacement of traditional sleepers (Timber, concrete, steel). There are also now various environmental concerns regarding the use and disposal of chemically-impregnated traditional sleepers. They are superior to timber & concrete sleeper in almost every respect. Use of composite sleepers not only reduces the land pollution from stray waste plastics but also ensure less destruction to the forests. As composite ties are strong, durable, and reliable, they require less maintenance and have longer life than common railroad ties. Therefore, they can be an excellent, cost-effective and long-term solution. If we use a pre-stressed concrete sleepers or steel sleepers then then initial setup cost as well as maintenance cost will be high. So, it is necessary to introduce such a sleeper which is economical and eco-friendly. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Rapid industrialization and population explosion has led to the migration of peoples from villages to cities which increase human settlement in world’s growing cities and towns. This generates several issues with regard to the environment. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is becoming a very important study before commissioning of any project plan or development in our country. In order to study either its beneficial or harmful effect; evaluation of any project through EIA has become a must; Indian construction industry is rapidly growing at a rate of 9.2% as against the world average of 5.5%. Undertaking EIA for construction industry and improving site management can reduce environmental impacts both on and off site. Several agencies use procedures for EIA of construction projects which might result in significant environmental impacts. The EIA study is necessary to prepare a detailed account of environmental impact of the proposed activity so that appropriate actions could be taken. An attempt has been made in this project report to study environmental clearances required for high rise building construction project using checklist analysis methodology. The study focuses on various parameters such as shadow analysis, wind analysis, zoning, water quality and nearest sensitive zones (coastal zoning). The plan attempts to define the project in a whole manner and suggest possible mitigation measures for development. The project report argues that through early planning before the start of the project as well as through all phases of the project’s development, if environmental concerns are considered simultaneously with other technical and economic criteria, it may be possible to develop the housing projects with the protection of natural resources of that area. |

Engineered Cementitious Composite |
Author : Ashish Thakkar |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Engineered Cementitious Composites or ECC is a cement composite with reinforced fiber, having high ductility and strong cracking width control. Ordinary concrete is almost incapable of bending and has a strength of only 0.1% which makes them brittle and hard. This lack of bending is a major cause of failure under stress and has been a contributing factor in the development of special materials. This feature is able to display highly improved flexibility. The fibers used ECC are micromechanically designed. To maximize performance, a High Range Water Reduction (HRWR) agent must be added to ECC. In contrast, no coarse aggregates are used in ECCs, which has a relatively high powder content. Cement materials, such as fly ash, silica fume can be used in addition to cement to increase adhesion content. The purpose of cement composites is designed to develop a durable and flexible material. |

The first manipulator was invented in the early 1950s from then to till date there has been drastic growth of development in advanced manipulators. The most advanced robot such as Sophia, Ameca who nearly looks like a human being. For such advanced technology it requires many things in hand to make something that has the basic human characteristic- expression-communication. Artificial intelligence is the brain equivalent for a robot which helps robots to observe the environment, understand what it constitutes and learn by interacting with it. To learn this a robot has to face many challenges to deal with a real time environment, robots have to combine each and every component together. It has to combine mechanical effectors, sensors, electric motors, power supply, pneumatic air muscles, actuators, piezo motors and ultrasonic motors. So far, where AI contributes not only perception but also reasoning, path-planning, uncertainty and compliance we conclude it has problem-solving abilities to empower robots. |

Abstract :Data science is an interdisciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from noisy, structured and unstructured data, and apply knowledge and actionable insights from data across a broad range of application domains. The term data science was initially used as a substitute for computer science by Peter Naur. In industry data science is often considered as the New Kid on the Block even though some of the data-intensive science such as bioinformatics, the high-energy Physics have been using some sort of data science more than a decade. The Committee on Data for Science and Technology defined data science as the methods and technologies used to conduct scientific research through management and utilization of scientific data. There are many research area such as medical, astrophysics, etc totally based on data science. Data science is related to data mining, machine learning and big data. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Bricks square measure wide used as a construction and artefact because of its properties. Recent years have seen a good development in new kinds of inorganic building material binders known as ‘‘geopolymeric cement’’ round the world. This prompted its use in bricks, that improves the greenness of normal bricks. The event of fly ash-based geopolymer light-weight bricks is comparatively new within the field of construction materials. This report reviews the uses of ash as a raw materials and addition of foaming agent to the geopolymer mixture to provide light-weight bricks. Most factory-made bricks with incorporation of foaming agent have shown positive effects by manufacturing light-weight bricks, increased consistency and improved the thermal conductivities of fly ash-based geopolymer bricks. This report presents an economic analysis of manufacturing geopolymer bricks for use in the construction sector. |

Abstract :The objective of this research was to develop a soy-based luminescent sealant for use on concrete surfaces. The luminescent sealant is a mixture of soy methyl ester polystyrene (SME 50 PS) and strontium aluminate; a phosphorescent powder that slowly luminesces after being excited by light. A test procedure was developed to quantify the magnitude and duration of the luminance of the coated concrete surface, which is key to evaluating the performance of the luminescent sealant. The luminescent sealant was excited in a consistent manner with a xenon lighting system that simulates sunlight, a photometer (light measuring instrument) that measures the luminance of the excited concrete surface, and a housing unit to prevent extraneous light from the surroundings to influence the test results. The results of the tests performed indicate that the luminescent surface emits light i.e glows) for approximately 24 hours in a dark space after it was excited. It was found that larger particles of strontium aluminate luminesce for a longer time than smaller particles. The excited sealant’s luminance was independent of time exposed to Light coming from the xenon lighting system. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :As rapid urbanization continues to take place, with a projected 70% of the India’s population expected to live in cities by 2050, waste management in proximity to human settlements poses problematic. Although waste generation and failure of its management is seen as a huge problem in developing cities, wealthier cities generate more waste than less affluent cities, and thus waste management is a crucial issue in developed as well as developing cities for obvious ecological reasons and for sustainability. solid waste management includes planning, administrative, financial, engineering, and legal functions. Solutions might include complex inter-disciplinary relations among fields such as public health, city and regional planning, political science, geography, sociology, economics, communication and conservation, demography, engineering. Bangalore city’s Solid waste management techniques were found to be incompetent with increasing rate of waste generation. With a view of improving waste management techniques in Bangalore, study tour of Gujarat was undertaken and further comparative analysis of waste management techniques were made. |
