Author : Juabin Matey, Joseph Yennukua Duut and Mensah Felix Kombian |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Financial literacy education is a lifelong asset that every individual needs to function and fit well in modern-day
society. It provides the financially savvy better decision making, best investment alternatives and family wellbeing.
Unfortunately, most consumers especially in this part of our world appear relatively less active and less confident in
participating meaningfully in the financial sector due to lack of knowledge about the complex nature of financial
products and services and indeed the risk that goes with them. As a contribution in addressing this problem, this
study looked at financial literacy education and its implication on the economic and social life of the teacher in the
Upper East Region of Ghana. With a descriptive survey design, 118 participants responded to questionnaires. Results
showed low levels of financial literacy among participants which can negatively affect their daily financial
management. It is therefore definite that the financially literate has the advantage to undertake prudent alternative
investment decisions and able to make informed retirement planning. Being financially illiterate adversely affects
one’s life in relation to the culture of savings, expenditure pattern, investment decisions and budgeting skills, making
the individual economically insecure. The study has policy frontier implications; policy makers in the financial sector,
governments, non-governmental organisations and equity owners are encouraged to come to the aid of consumers,
especially teachers, by way of introducing professional teacher development programmes specifically tailored at
uplifting their financial literacy knowledge and skills. |

Isolation, Screening and Characterization of Cellolytic Bacteria from Agricultural Fields of Narmada District |
Author : Alpesh Bhimaniand Nikunj Sohaliya |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The aim of this presented work is to elucidate the screening and characterization of cellulolytic bacteria from soil. Soil
samples from different areas of agricultural fields of Narmada district were used for the screening of cellulolytic
bacteria by serial dilution and pore plate method. Isolates were additionally characterized by morphological and
biochemical tests. Out of forty nine isolates were selected on the basis of clear zone produced 7mm =. These five
potential isolates were further screened for cellulolytic activity among which three isolates AII3, AI3 and CIII5
exhibited promising activity of cellulase in agar plate assay. Isolation, screening and characterization of isolates for
cellulolytic activity provided appreciated and novel enzymes for the alteration of cellulolytic waste into valuable
compost. |

Isolation of Soil Mycoflora from Agricultural Fields of Narmada District |
Author : Alpesh Bhimaniand Nikunj Sohaliya |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :The soil samples were collected from different fields of Narmada District. Soil samples were collected in two different
zones i.e. rhizoplane and rhizosphere. Then collected samples were inoculated on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA)
medium which was supplemented by suitable antibiotics such as Chloramphenicol by adopting soil dilution method
and soil plate method. The present study was conducted to find out the fungal diversity in agricultural fields in
Narmada. A total of 154 colonies were isolated. From this investigation, 14 species of fungi belongs to 6 different
genera were isolated and identified whereas 23 strains left unknown. Identification and characterization of the soil
mycoflora were done with the help of authentic manuals of soil fungi. |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :This research illustrates and explains the role of forestry police in maintaining the sustainability of forest areas so
that they are maintained. The method used in this research is a sociological approach with case study design. The
type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the role of forestry police in guarding the
Alas Purwo National Park area, especially endemic animal theft has been followed up. As with the fact that poaching
and utilization of wildlife is endemic, for business and pleasure purposes (hobbies and collections) has resulted in
thousands of wild animals of various types endangered. This form of violation has been followed up by the forestry
police and sanctioned to the perpetrators. To minimize animal theft, cooperation and community participation are
needed both technical and non-technical. |
