Abstract :More than 200 years have passed since the Dede Korkut B?ok was discovered. Although it is a work written in Old Oghuz Turkic in Anatolia-Azerbaijan geography in 15th- 16th centuries, it is one of the most important works of all of Turkishness, not just Oghuz Turks in terms of the depth of its history and the width of its historical geography.
Stories of the Dede Korkut’s heroes, which started to form in the 8th century after the Oghuz immigration to the shores of Syr Darya lived in oral tradition in the shores of Syr Darya, Transoxiana and Khorasan then they were written in the 15th century in the Aq Qoyunlu territory and got their final form. Because of that besides the Oghuz Turkic, traces of the other Turkic dialects can be found in the language of the Dede Korkut B?ok.
In this study, Turkish words of Dede Korkut B?ok were compared with the vocabulary of present-day Kazakh Turkic. 77 words that are considered as common and similar were listed alphabetically and evaluated.
