| EVALUATION OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEMS OF STUDENTS DETECTING BODY COMPOUNDS WITH LEUKOCYTE FORMULA | Author : Fatma Çolakoglu | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Aim: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of body composition on the immune system in
students who are distant from the families and, depending on changing dietary habits.
Material and Method: The body analyzes of 46 university students were made. As a result of the
analysis, the values related to the total body fat percentage were recorded and 3 groups having
normal, low and high fat percentage were formed. Blood samples were taken from these students.
Smear was pulled, and formula leukocytes were calculated.
Results: In the group with high fat percentage, statistically significant increase in the monocytes was
found to be different (p<0.05) compared to the other groups.
Conclusion: High monocyte counts of high body fat percentage indicate macrophage accumulation
and inflammation in fat tissue |
| INVESTIGATION OF DISABILITY REGIONS IN WRESTLERS | Author : Emrah ATAY, Halil TANIR, Erkan ÇETINKAYA | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the regions of sports injuries that have occurred
in the wrestlers who compete in the category of stars, young people and adults.
Method: 143 wrestlers competing in the category of stars, young people and adults participated in
the study as volunteers. A musculoskeletal system questionnaire was used to determine the disability.
For statistical evaluation, frequency and percentage values are examined. The difference between the
categories was determined by chi-square test.
Findings: The regions with the most injuries in wrestlers are knee (43,4%), foot-ankle (33,6%) and
shoulder (32,6%). In addition, it is observed that hand-wrist, waist, knee and foot-ankle injuries are
significantly different in frequency of injuries in categorization of disability regions (p<0.05). As the
categories increase, the disability rate seems to increase (p<0.05).
Conclusion: The most common disability areas in wrestlers are knee, foot-ankle and shoulder.
Additional training in these regions during training to reduce disability incidence will reduce the
frequency of injuries |
| THE EXAMINATION OF CARE GIVING BURDEN OF PARENTS WHO HAVE CHILDREN BEING TREATED AT THE HOSPITAL | Author : Gönül Tasçioglu, Utku Beyazit, Aynur Bütün Ayhan | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :ABSTRACT

aimed to examine the care giving burden of parents who have children being treated at the hospital.
Material and Method: The sample group of the study was comprised of 160 parents whose children were having treatment
in a state hospital in Lekosa. In the study, “Individual Information Form”, prepared by the authors; “Zarit Care Giving
Burden Scale”, developed by Zarit et al. (1980) and “Stait-Trait Anxiety Inventory”, developed by Spielberger ve Gorsuch
(1994) were used. Initially, a normality test showed that the data was parametric.
Results: According to the results, it was found that the care giving burden of the parents differ according to the monthly
income (F=7.089, p=.001), the daily working hours (F=4.051, p=.021), birth of place (t=-2.185, p=.03), according to
whether their childrens’ sickness is acute or chronic (t=-3.053, p=.003) and according to whether they have outpatient
treatment or not (t=2.747, p=.007). It was also found that there is a significant positive correlation between the scores of
Zarit Care Giving Burden Scale and Trait Anxiety Scale (r=,155, p=0,05).
Conclusion: As a result, certain proposals to the health care professionals were brought up as with the psychosocial care of
the sick children and their parent |

| ELECTRONICAL WASTE AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH | Author : Çigdem Yilmaz Aydin, Emine Didem Evci Kiraz | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Electrical and electronic equipment lifetime has reduced in the duration of the rapid development
technology Today, humanity faced with a new type of garbage which called electronic waste (ewaste). Heavy metals which occured by the illegal business, are affects human health and the
environment. The aim of this review is determine the effects of e-waste on people and the
environment and make recommendations on e-waste management .
This study was compiled by reviewing PubMed and Google Academic databases and reviewing

Heavy metals which affect the environment and human health, are occured by storaging and disposal operations in non-legal business. Several studies conducted in developing countries, especially their
impact on human health is set out in a statistically meaningful way.Collection, destruction and
recycling of e-waste must be safely and securely and it is related with legal sanctions. Electrical and
electronic equipment should be environmentally friendly clean / green products. To ensure green
products manufacturers should do research. The recycling process also encourages the use of
methods which have been modernized and should be supported by appropriate legal sanctions should
be supervised, in the country |
