The analysis of the data presented in the paper is focused on the legal acts of activity of the veterinary service in order to reduce the effect of RAM at the national level with the involvement of the authorities in the field of human and animal health, as well as environmental protection.
Conclusions. The reduction of AMR at the national level can be achieved by creating an institutional framework responsible for intersectoral coordination and collaboration as well as the effective implementation of control of the release of animal medicaments only on the basis of veterinary prescriptions. |
| Syntropia – acid-dependent diseases and hypertension | Author : Ghenadie CALIN, Valeriu ISTRATI, Mihaela STOICA, Alina SCURTU, Anatolie SCORPAN, Oxana SIRBU | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Introduction. With syntropy of CVD and AH, the pathology of the digestive system can exacerbate the course of AH and develop special conditions for increasing the risk of cardiovascular complications. Pharmacotherapy of HD may affect the course and progression of gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Material and methods. The study was conducted using the PubMed, Z-library, NCIB, Medscape, Mendeley databases using the keywords: “syntropy”, “comorbidity”, “arterial hypertension”, “acid-dependent diseases”, “gastric ulcer”, “gastroesophageal reflux disease”.
Results. AH and CVD are quite often observed together, having, moreover, a conditioned commonality of the mechanisms of formation. The proximity of the location with the heart, the commonality of innervation, in the pathology of the esophagus, can create viscero-visceral reflexes and provoke arrhythmias, imitate coronary heart disease. Pathology of the upper gastrointestinal tract can lead to functional disorders of the cardiovascular system, manifested through the autonomic nervous system. The combined course of AH and CVD, observed, according to various sources, from 11.6% to 50%, is not just random, but may have pathogenetic and etiological patterns. Comorbidity of CVD and AH can enhance the development of the main pathological process and lead to disruption of adaptive mechanisms.
Conclusions. The syntropy of AH and CVD requires thorough scientific studies to discover and elucidate the pathogenetic features of the course and methods of better drug therapy. |
| Cardiovascular damage in seronegative spondylarthritis | Author : Mihaela STOICA, Anatolie SCORPAN, Oxana SARBU, Alexandru GOREA, Valeriu ISTRATI | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Introduction. Cardiovascular mortality in patients diagnosed with seronegative spondyloarthritis (SSN) is on the rise. Impairment of the cardiovascular system in ankylosing spondylitis (SpA) is 20-40%, in psoriatic arthritis (APs) 18-22% and in reactive arthritis (ARe) 1-3%.
Material and methods. The study included 77 patients diagnosed with SSN. Laboratory (erythrocyte sedimentation rate – ESR, C-reactive protein – CRP, fibrinogen) and instrumental (echocardiography – EcoCG, electrocardiogram – ECG) data were analyzed.
Results. In 35 patients diagnosed with SpA, the left branch hemiblock of the Hiss bundle was determined – 71% and bradycardia – 57%. Aortic valve (VAo) changes were diagnosed in 54% and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in 57%. Elevated CRP values were found in 34.5% of cases, ESR – 22.8% and fibrinogen – 17.2%. In 24 patients with APs, 33.5% showed VAo induration and fibrosis. Another change diagnosed in these patients was LVH (37.5%). Cardiac conductivity disorders in 25% were due to the left branch hemiblock of the Hiss bundle, and among the increased inflammatory markers were: fibrinogen (16.6%) and CRP (12.5%). In 18 patients with ARe as a rhythm disorder, tachycardia is predominant – 94% and VAo damage in 27.7%. Inflammatory markers with values above the upper limit were fibrinogen (66%) and CRP (33%).
Conclusions. Our study showed that SSN is closely related to the inflammatory syn-drome, on which the activity of the disease and the degree of damage to the cardiovascular system depend. Most often the heart is affected with its components. |
| Evaluation of the viability of yeast strains after 15 years of conservation | Author : Tamara SÎRBU, Valerina SLANINA | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Introducere. Pastrarea durabila si eficienta a microorganismelor în colec?ii depinde de selectarea corecta a metodei de conservare, parametrilor si mediilor de protectie.
Material ?i metode. A fost evaluata viabilitatea ?i stabilitatea particularita?ilor morfo-culturale a drojdiilor din CNMN, pastrate sub un strat de ulei de vazelina ?i în stare liofilizata timp de 15 ani.
Rezultate.

| The role of the board of directors in the institutional strategic process within public hospitals | Author : Ana NICULITA | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Introduction. According to the normative provisions, the Board of Directors (hereinafter the BD) is an administrative and supervisory body of public hospitals, which, in addition to other exclusive (quite limited) duties, is responsible for the examination and approval of the plans of activity of the hospital. However, just as the expressions "strategic plan" or "strategy" do not appear in this task, sometimes the involvement of the BD in the examination and approval of institutional strategic documents are omitted.
Material and methods. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the experience of the BD members of the public hospitals in the North region, regarding the involvement in the institutional strategic process. They expressed their opinion on the perceived role in the process of elaboration and implementation of institutional strategies; the vision, mission and set of institutional values, strategic areas, the performance of which they monitor; communication with stakeholders in the strategic context; taking corrective action in a timely manner, etc. The strategies / strategic plans of the medical institutions included in the study were analyzed too.
Results. The results of the study show that the involvement of BD members of the public hospitals in the institutional strategic process is often formal and declarative.
Conclusions. The study emphasizes a superficial attitude of the BD members on the strategic process or the fact that they do not have the necessary competencies to examine the institutional strategies. |

COVID-19 infection is common in the pediatric population, presenting a variety of respiratory manifestations and complications.
Material and methods. The study included 64 children from the COVID-19 section, IMSP IMC, with a mean age of 2,04±0,4 years (variations 1 day-17 years), divided into 5 age groups: 0-1 month, 1-12 months, 1-3 years, 3-7 years, >7 years. The methodology of the study is expected to assess the significance of clinical manifestations in the COVID-19 infection episode.
Results. With 21 cases, this study discovered a higher frequency of the disease in infants. The nosological expression of the infection was dominated by pneumonia and unique cases of infection in four children with upper respiratory infections. Every evolution was presented by 11 children, the moderate form being the dominant one. An almost constant sign in the children in the study was febrile syndrome, which in 31 cases was > 38,0oC. Every second child showed catarrhal respiratory signs, cough, and cyanosis in 66,1% of the children, chest circulation in 32,1% of the cases, and wheezing in 6. COVID-19 infection in hospitalized children resulted in respiratory complications in 81,3% of cases and toxic infections – 23,4%.
Conclusions. COVID-19 infection in hospitalized children occurs mainly with pneumonia and only in unique cases of nasopharyngitis, with the constant presence of catarrhal respiratory signs, dyspnea, and fever, but also a susceptibility to develop severe forms and complications. |

| Changes of the oxidative stress indices in pathogenic bacterial cultures under the action of novel chemical compounds | Author : Carolina LOZAN-TIRSU, Elena ZARICIUC | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Introduction. It is known that excessive formation of hydrogen peroxide in the microbial cultures under the action of chemical compounds with antibacterial effects is the first stage in the formation of oxidative stress. Thus, it became appropriate to conduct a study that would make it possible to control the level of oxidative stress induced by chemical compounds in cultures of pathogenic microorganisms.
Material and methods. The objects of the in vitro study were Cu(II) coordination compounds; Co(II), Zn(II) and aromatic propenones synthesized a t the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the State University of Moldova. Antimicrobial activity was tested on 5 reference strains. The level of oxidative stress was controlled using the hydrogen peroxide test, and the level of lipid peroxidation was determined indirectly by monitoring the product of peroxidation, namely the malondialdehyde.
Results. Under the action of new chemical compounds with antimicrobial properties on reference cultures of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Bacillus cereus ???? 8035, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Shigella sonnei ATCC 25931 and Salmonella enterica (Salmonella abony ???? 03/03y) in cultures that create a state of oxidative stress, confirmed by the accumulation of hydrogen peroxide and lipid peroxidation products.
Conclusions. Thus, the process of lipid peroxidation, which follows the pattern of chain reactions, is one of the reactions that lead to the death of cell culture. The level of hydrogen peroxide formed under the action of the tested compounds was also monitored. |
| Mesenteric panniculitis: therapeutic aspects in the light of a clinical case | Author : Alexandru GOREA, Mihaela STOICA, Anatolie SCORPAN, Oxana SARBU, Valeriu ISTRATI | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Introduction: Mesenteric panniculitis is a rare medical condition. Its incidence is between 0.16% - 3.4%. The small number of cases of PMN and the ignorance of its causes, pathogenesis and treatment significantly affect the prognosis of the disease.
Materials and methods: An analysis of the literature and the case of patient R, aged 47, who is admitted to IMSP, is presented.
Results: Accusations: peri-umbilical pain, marked physical asthenia and significant weight loss. In the left abdominal flank, a tumor of 9.0 x14.0 cm was palpated, soft as consistensy, elastic, sensitive to palpation, fixed to the deep planes. Clinical examination and abdominal CT examination led to the diagnosis of mesenteric panniculitis. Drug treatment with NSAIDs and corticosteroids had a favorable outcome, confirming the autoimmune etiology of PM.
Conclusions. Mesenteric panniculitis is a rare pathology and its diagnosis is difficult to establish. The drug treatment with NSAIDs and corticosteroids can lead to good and lasting clinical results. |
