| Application of Vehicle Routing Problem with Simultaneous Pickup and Delivery | Author : Bahadir GÜLSÜN, Cemal Kazim GONCA | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In an increasingly global competitive environment, companies use a variety of ways to manage their supply chain processes in the most efficient and effective manner. One of the important methods is to design the distribution networks correctly. Important components in the distribution network design are the location selection of facilities and routing of vehicles. Where possible, two decisions in site selection and routing should be considered together to minimize the cost of distribution. However, in practice, there are many different and weighty factors that affect the choice of place in many sectors, but the changing needs over time may lead to changing routing points. In addition, in the absence of this study at the beginning, since the cost of displacement will be much higher, only studies can be considered as routing problem.
Vehicle-routing problem can be defined as product distribution or collection to specific customers from one or several points. In these problems, effective use is aimed by taking into consideration the constraints such as vehicle capacities and customer service time. Vehicle routing problems are real life problems in many areas. This situation has been beneficial in carrying out studies on this subject and presenting algorithms that yield productive results.
To solve the problem encountered in this study, the model was created as a vehicle routing problem with simultaneous pickup and delivery. Vehicle routing problem with simultaneous pickup and delivery. It is a problem that the distribution and collection demands of the customers are met simultaneously by setting a specific route for vehicles with the same starting and ending points (firm). Within the scope of this study, routing problem on creating logistics services for 20 customers in 8 different cities over the factory was discussed. The company that is the subject of the problem is provided by the cargo logistics companies in the present case. In order to reduce costs, efforts were made to establish the companys own logistics network. The aim of this study is to keep the total distance traveled to a minimum by using the minimum number of vehicles, and to minimize the costs. Linear programming was used for problem solving and the solution was reached via GAMS. |
| Simulation of PMSM Operating at Different Speeds and Optimization of PI Controller Parameters | Author : Fatih Alpaslan KAZAN, Osman BILGIN | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study aims to contribute to design and development studies by investigating current, speed and torque responses of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with different loads and powers without any experimental study. For this reason, firstly, PMSM was simulated using Matlab/Simulink package program. The simulation results were then tested using a 0.25 kW PMSM coded MCS06C41, a motor driver coded EVS9322-ESV004, and the Global Drive Control interface program produced by Lenze. In addition, the model was tested on another PMSM (1.1 kW) to determine the validity of the model. Since the driver used during the experiment was designed according to field-oriented vector control, the field-oriented vector control was also preferred in the simulation. The PI controller parameters in driver simulation were optimized by using the Signal Constraint Block in Simulink Response Optimization toolbox of Matlab. |
| A Postmodern Film Narrative: Lost Highway | Author : Ali ÖZTÜRK | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Postmodernism, which makes itself felt in many fields of art, especially architecture, literature and cinema, is known as a reflection of the political reaction movements that have driven Western civilization. In general, postmodernism is referred to as a reaction to modernism as a new cultural phenomenon. However, although Postmodernism is said to be a phenomenon that has existed against the uniqueness of modernism, according to Foucault and Lyotard, one of the postmodernist theorists, it is the result of interfering aesthetic narrative with daily life practices. Postmodernism, which has an eclectic narrative structure, has the potential to examine and use any artistic understanding. With this approach, the story proceeds through the nested mesh event transfer. This method used in film narrative may make it difficult for the viewer to make sense of the film. This is due to the difficulty of the audience in establishing the connection created between the lower and upper layers created in the plot.
The aim of this study is to analyze whether the film Lost Highway (1997), one of the postmodern narrative examples, reflects the characteristics of the genre. However, this analysis will not be based on pastiche, parody or irony, which is one of the characteristics of postmodern cinema. The reason for this is that while David Lynch transmits through reality and fiction in the transfer of events, it does not blur the distinction between real and unreal. |

| Investigation of the Effects of Road Geometric Standards on Highway Operating Costs | Author : Soner CANVER, Halit ÖZEN, Abdulsamet SARAÇOGLU, Abdullah MALTAS | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The three main components of transportation are human, vehicle, and infrastructure. During the operation of the transportation system, the problems of these components both in themselves and in their relations with each other are defined as “cost”. In the planning stage of the transportation system, the costs to be encountered during operation must be identified and analyzed. In this context, it is very important to determine the operating costs separately and to evaluate their effects on the highway transportation that is heavily used in Turkey. Operating costs in the highway transportation are divided into four main categories; vehicle operation cost, emission cost, time loss cost, and road safety cost. Among them, the vehicle operation cost has the greatest cost value. Characteristic features of the highway are of great importance to reduce these costs that directly affect the user, such as fuel consumption, maintenance, and repair.
In this study, highway operating costs and methods for calculating costs sre examined in detail. The effect of the change in software parameters on the project cost is analyzed by using the HDM-4 software developed by the World Bank to calculate highway operating costs. In this study, the effect of the change in software parameters is determined for a specific highway. Consequently, effects of the parameters that are used for vehicle operation, environmental effects and the geometric properties of the highway are exposed. |
