Studies of Chilodonella Cyprini Sin. (Piscicola) Infection (Chilodonellidae, Chilodonella) In the Preajba Valley River Basin (Romania) | Author : Goga Ionelia Claudia , Mititelu-Ionus Oana, Tîmburescu Constanta | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Through a series of researches and field sampling within the Preajba River Basin, in 2011, we identified the Chilodonella cyprini parasite in carp (Cyprinus carpio), this parasite, being the most frequent and dangerous ectoparasite of the ciliated protozoa. The presence of the parasite in tegument level was revealed by cleaning the scales and microscopic visualization.

| Air Impurity Study of Elbasani Town – Albania | Author : Anila Jançe, Valentin Bogoev, Admir Jançe | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Microbiological features given in this survey are received in Elbasani town, ancient and significant town positioned in central Albania. It is one of the largest cities of Albania, with a population of around 140000 and an area of 900 km². It lies down along Shkumbini River at elevation around 150 m above sea level. Microbiological data on air pollution are given in this study, focusing on the choice of stations to be in different areas and key points of the Elbasan city, thus attempting to contaminate microbiological areas. In recent years, mainly in the last two decades, many microbiological studies have been conducted for the Elbasan city.
The purpose of this study is to present the current state of microbiological contamination of air as an important parameter with a direct impact on the health of the population of Elbasani town. For this purpose, we have received multiple samples with representatives of M.P.A. and Czapek from three stations, during a three-month period of 2017. Laboratory sample processing as well as microscopic observation were performed in "Aleksander Xhuvani" University, Elbasan.
We think that emphasis should be placed on the fact that the Elbasani town has been dominated by a significant microbiological contamination, which comes mainly from different markets of food and industrial character. In our point of view, interesting data were found that clearly show the air microbiological quality. |
| Chromium Phytotoxicity Test of Metal Coating Wastewaters | Author : Sükrü Dursun, Zeynep Cansu Ayturan | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Metals are deformed by some mechanisms such as oxidation and corrosion. In order to protect metals from deformation and effect of some agents, metal coating method may be used. Hot galvanizing, thermal spraying, electroplating and sherardizing are some of these methods and they depend on the type of metal which will be coated to protect to metal materials. Zinc, nickel, brass, chrome, gold, cadmium, copper, brass, and silver are the main materials used for metal coating process. Chromium may be the most deteriorating one within these metals because it has negative impacts on both human and other livings. It is found in the environment in many forms and mined in different countries. Especially chromium +6 is considered as carcinogenic and may lead to health problems such as allergic reactions, nose irritations and nosebleed, stomach ulcer, weakened immune system, genetic material alteration, stomach ulcer, kidney and liver function disorders and death. Therefore, metal
coating wastewaters including high concentrations of chrome should be cleaned and treatment is necessary. In this study wastewater containing chrome produced by metal coating industry was analysed by using some plant species. In this study, the reaction of some plant species was investigated against different concentrations of chrome solution. Main plants used for the tests are Lepidium sativum and Lemna minor. Examining the negative effects of chrome which may harm plants and offering more accurate wastewater treatment techniques against chromium wastewater is possible with this method. There is significant relation between chromium concentration and toxic level on plant germination and growth rate. Moreover, variance analysis was applied to the results taken from experimental study in laboratory condition with selected level of chromium level and the significance importance was determined with our results. |
