| Autoregressive Vector (VAR) Method in Analyzing Inflation Persistence in Indonesia | Author : Nisa Marlina , Irwan Suriadi | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :One of the most important economic variables is inflation. It is known that some changes in each major variable in the economy are caused by the rate of inflation, such as unemployment and future economic conditions. This is what makes inflation a variable that is often observed and tested, both theoretically and empirically. Economic development is said to run well if supported by stable inflation values, which will later serve to make the population more prosperous in the future. This research is a quantitative research using secondary data, namely inflation and CPI data from January 2018 to December 2022. Data obtained from Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics. This study aims to see persistence in Indonesia and see the effect of CPI on inflation both in the long and short term. Where the model used in this study is using the VAR model of differential levels, because the data is not stationary at the level level. Determination of the optimal lag length is obtained from the lowest Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) value. The results of the analysis show that the persistence of inflation in Indonesia is fairly high. This is because the lag value in inflation is close to 1 or even more, which is 6.71. The high persistence of inflation is expected to cause shocks that affect the inflation rate in Indonesia. Then the length of time it takes for inflation to return to the equilibrium position is about 1 year and a half or 18 months. Furthermore, for the effect of inflation on CPI, in this case it has an influence in the long run, while for the short term influence is only influenced by its own variables.

| Innovative SCADA-Based Oil Refinery Control with Arduino Integration Using Labview | Author : Mohammed Farooq Saber, Anmar Aidi Shareef, Sabah Khudhair Ali, Omar Shakir Hamad, Mohammed Ghadhban Ahmed | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In various industrial settings, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems are commonly employed for control purposes, such as in water treatment facilities, electric power stations, and irrigation systems. However, the oil and gas refinery sector typically relies on Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to manage a wide array of process and equipment control functions. This project departs from the conventional reliance on DCS and explores the utilization of a SCADA system, both with and without Arduino integration, to oversee and regulate oil levels within a tank that serves as a representation of a refinery. The project introduces the design and detailed implementation of a real-world SCADA system developed in LABVIEW. Effective solutions encompass automation and monitoring architectures that encompass several components, including a real-time supervision and control system, programmable logic controllers equipped with fundamental libraries, communication systems, standard or custom interfaces interfacing with sensors, electrical drive components, measuring instruments, and more. Leveraging informatics systems offers the potential to proactively prevent various phenomena through data analysis and processing, ultimately leading to optimized operations and significant cost savings. Consequently, this project introduces a SCADA system tailored for the monitoring and control of water distribution stations. This system is designed to ensure the efficient operation of pumping systems, enhance equipment and infrastructure safety and resilience, optimize energy consumption, and efficiently manage the distribution of potable water resources. The project relies on LabVIEW, a graphical programming language utilizing a dataflow model, for programming, control, and monitoring of a simulated water system. Additionally, rain sensors are employed to detect water levels within predefined minimum and maximum thresholds. Moreover, LabVIEW is utilized for programming the Arduino UNO microcontroller board, which serves as an interface between the software and other circuit components. The results of this project demonstrate high-performance levels and the attainment of precise measurements.

| Enhancement of Power Systems Transient Stability with TCSC: A Case study of The Nigerian 330 kV, 48-Bus Network | Author : Imo E. Nkan, 1Ekom E. Okpo, Aniekan B. Inyang | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :A steady, safe, controllable, and high-quality power supply is necessary given the complexity of power systems, especially in the deregulated power sector seen in Nigeria. One of the main drawbacks of network expansion is the loss of the systems overall damping torque, which mitigates the system resulting to fluctuations and transient instability. Power system stabilit control difficulties have been addressed using flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) controllers. This study examines the responses of the generator rotor angle, speed, Q-axis and D-axis voltage components behind transient reactance as well as the voltage magnitude profile under the influence of a three-phase fault for the purpose of enhancing transient stability. The Nigerian 48-bus power system network was modeled using commercial PSAT software in a MATLAB environment with a fault induced on Bus 33 (Geregu SubStation) and TCSC optimally positioned on line 21-28 using continuation power flow (CPF). According to simulation results with and without TCSC, a significant amount of oscillation in the power system was dampened, and the voltage profile was improved for power system transient stability.

| The Significance of Al-Jazaris Four-Bucket Water Lifting Machine in the History of Engineering and Science | Author : Recep KÜLCÜ | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The developments in the field of engineering have an eclectic structure. During ancient times, the works carried out at the School of Mechanical Engineering in Alexandria were transmitted to the Islamic world through translations at the House of Wisdom (Bayt al-Hikmah). Following this process, engineering studies became the focus of research in the Islamic world, both from theoretical and practical perspectives. Prominent researchers in this context include the Banu Musa brothers (9th century), Al-Farabi (875-950), Al-Hazini (1100s), and Al-Jazari (13th century). The renowned Turkish philosopher Al-Farabi conducted research on air and vacuum, expressing his views in the treatise "Risale li-Ebi Nasr al-Farabi fil-Hala" (On Vacuum). Al-Hazinis book "Mizanu Hikme" (The Balance of Wisdom) sheds light on the concept of balance, with Hazini turning the water balance into an extraordinary equilibrium device and creating a balance called "Mizânül-Câmî" (The Collector). The Banu Musa brothers presented valuable machine and mechanical system designs in their work "Kitab al-Hiyal" (The Book of Ingenious Devices). Al-Jazari, born in 1153 in Cizre, served as the chief engineer of the Artuklu palace for 32 years. During this time, he designed many mechanical and automation-based systems. Upon examining the designs in Al-Jazaris book "Kitab-ül Cami Beyn-el-Il ve-Amel el-Nâfi fi Sinaât el Hiyel," it becomes apparent that he elevated the designs made before him to a completely different level. Some of todas engineering designs can trace their origins to the drawings found in this book. In this study, the design features of Al-Jazaris 4-bucket water-lifting machine are examined, and its value in contemporary engineering is explored. Al-Jazari designed a mechanical timer to ensure the continuity of water flow in his design. This timer allowed each bucket to discharge water one after the other, maintaining a continuous flow of water. He achieved this through a shaft with quarter-toothed gears. This design can be considered the precursor to the eccentric and crankshafts found in modern internal combustion engines. The eccentric shaft controls the mechanical timing of valves in engines, while crankshafts ensure the continuous transmission of the force generated by four pistons in a four-stroke engine over a quarter of the cycle to the flywheel gear.

| Discipline as a Tool for Childrens Personality Formation | Author : Amiruddin | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In the implementation of education, there are still educators (parents, teachers and society) who are less aware that discipline can influence the formation of a childs personality. Mistakes and inaccuracies in providing discipline to students can interfere with the formation of a good personality. Because the formation of personality during childhood determines a persons mental attitude and behavior after adulthood and is the basis for assessing their actions. It must be remembered that the childs soul at various stages of development is different from the soul of an adult. Growth and development are animated by nature or basic forces from within and influenced by factors from outside. From a psychopedagogical perspective, discipline is very important and even mandatory for a childs growth. Children growth and development is not only physiological, but also mental and social. Complete and healthy self-development physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually, is a reflection of the quality of discipline experienced and carried out by children from the time they are in the womb until they are born, grow and develop into adults. In designing discipline, it can take the form of prohibitions and orders. which leads to positive discipline. The role of parents, teachers and society is very influential in the formation of childrens discipline so that they give birth to the individuals mandated by the GBHN.
