| Performance Evaluation of Optimally Placed SVC for Dynamic Stability of the Power System | Author : Uduak J. Essien, Joshua Odion, Nelson F. Chukwu | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Given the complexity of power systems, particularly in the deregulated power industry found in Nigeria, a consistent, safe, controllable, and high-quality power supply is required. The loss of the systems overall damping torque, which reduces the systems susceptibility to fluctuations and problems with dynamic stability, is one of the key downsides of network expansion. Flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) controllers have been used to overcome problems with power system stability control. In order to improve dynamic stability, this study investigates how the generators rotor angle, speed, voltage magnitude profile, and real power affect how well SVC operates under the effect of a three-phase fault. With a fault introduced on Bus 33 (Geregu Substation) and SVC placed optimally on Bus 21 (Jos Transmission Station) using voltage stability sensitivity factor (VSSF) after the simulation of continuation power flow (CPF), the 48-bus power system network in Nigeria was modeled using commercial PSAT software in a MATLAB environment. The power systems oscillation was significantly reduced, and the voltage profile was enhanced for power system dynamic stability, per simulation results with and without SVC.

| Textual Analysis of Hegemony Discourse Construction PT. PLN in the Perspective of Norman Fairclough Critical Discourse Analysis | Author : Guruh Ramdani, Fadhila Hasby, Anindyo Widito, Suzen HR Lumban Tobing, Harries Marithasari | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The states monopoly (hegemony) over the management of natural resources, especially in the electricity sector in the mid-late 2020s, is threatened by the passing of the Job Creation Law by President Jokowi, which aims to increase economic growth through foreign investment. The Job Creation Law allows investors to invest capital in Indonesian companies, including State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). The ratification of the Job Creation Bill was rejected by employees and workers of state-owned companies because they were deemed not to be on the side of the people. As a result, demonstrations emerged demanding that the ratification of this bill be cancelled, including by BUMN employees and workers in the electricity sector. This article discusses state monopoly (hegemony) through PT. PLN in the news of union and labor demonstrations in the electricity sector in the news “Serikat Pekerja PLN Sebut Omnibus Law Ancam Perusahaan Listrik Nasional” (PLN Workers Union Says Omnibus Law Threatens National Electricity Company) uses Norman Faircloughs Critical Discourse Analysis, and reveals the ideology hiding behind the text "PTs concern. PLN towards the people who are suspected of being oppressed if PTs monopoly rights. PLN in the electricity sector is revoked.” Metaphors and other terms are used in the text to obscure the main intention, namely perpetuating PT PLNs hegemony over national electricity management. | Regional Ombudsman as a Public Service Oversight Agency in Indonesia (Analysis of Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia Decision Number 62/Puu-Viii/2010) | Author : Sri Nur Hari Susanto, Peni Susetyorini, Kadek Cahya Susila Wibawa | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study aims to identify and analyse the recognition of Regional Ombudsman institutions in Indonesia that existed before establishing the National Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia. This qualitative descriptive research uses a normative juridical approach, specifically focusing on the conceptual approach, legislation, and court decisions. The research findings reveal that the enactment of Law No. 37 of 2008 on the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia has sparked protests from several pre-existing regional Ombudsman institutions. This is because the Ombudsman Law regulates a prohibition on the use of the name “Ombudsman” by public service oversight agencies at the regional level, resulting in petitions for judicial review to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia. In its verdict, the Constitutional Court declared that the state cannot monopolise the name “Ombudsman” as a public service oversight agency. The prohibition on establishing public service oversight agencies with the name “Ombudsman” other than the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, as stipulated in the a quo law, is not in line with the constitutional spirit and protections guaranteed by the Constitution. This includes the right to recognition, assurance, protection, fair legal certainty, and equal treatment before the law within the government. This prohibition is also contrary to the constitutional guarantee of the right of every individual to advance themselves collectively in pursuing their rights for the betterment of society, nation, and the state.

| Optimization of Field-Oriented Control for PMSM Motor | Author : Ng Soon King, Chua Hong Siang, Ting Sie King | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This research focuses on designing and simulating a sensorless control technique for optimising field-oriented control to achieve an optimization control applicable to water pressure regulation management. In the irrigation system, water pressure changes are determined by the number of activated emitters operating at different times. Unstable water pressure may reduce irrigation efficiency, leaving brown areas of the landscape not receiving adequate watering. Thus, the Field-oriented control technique is introduced in the paper to regulate the water pressure in the water pump controller using a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The PSO-SFC field-oriented control technique for the PMSM was studied to improve motor efficiency and precision motor control over the torque and speed. The cascade-free state feedback controller (SFC) can achieve better dynamics and disturbance compensation in the controller. The SFCs tuning process has been achieved by using a linear-quadratic optimization method and PSO (particle swarm optimization) in the cascaded process. The process improves the coefficient of gain K produced by linear-quadratic optimization and PSO to obtain promising Q and R matrices in the adaptive system with improved output response in the simulation.

| The Correlation of Leg Muscle Power with the Frequency of Sickle Kicks of Pencak Silat Athletes | Author : Mahmud Rahman Aljuklan, Yustinus Sukarmin | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :There are many factors that affect Pencak Silat skills, namely the elements of physical condition and kicks. Based on the background in the introduction, it was found that the frequency of sickle kicks is related to the power of the leg muscles.
Purpose. Thus, the purpose of this study is to find out how much there is a correlation between leg muscle power and the frequency of sickle kicks in pencak silat athletes.
Material and methods. This type of research is correlational research using a quantitative approach. The population in this study is all pencak silat athletes in the Muna Regency Pencak Sor La Ode Pandu Organization. There were 30 male athletes who were taken as samples through purposive sampling techniques. There are several instruments used to collect data: the vertical jump test to measure leg muscle power and the sickle kick test by counting the number of left and right foot kicks for 30 seconds each to measure the frequency of sickle kicks.
Results. The results showed that there is a significant correlation between leg muscle power and sickle kick frequency; this can be seen from the acquisition of sig values. 0.019 < 0.05, and the calculated r value = 0.425 > r table ( 0.05 = 0.361), while the determinant coefficient (R2) = 0.18, which means that the power of the limb muscles contributes to the frequency of sickle kicks by 18%. While 82% is influenced by other elements of physical conditions.
Conclusions. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between leg muscle power and the frequency of pencak silat sickle kicks. The sickle kick is a kick that is often used in matches. A good sickle kick certainly requires elements of good physical condition as well. Leg muscle power is one of the elements of physical condition that most determine the outcome of a sickle kick. Good leg muscle power requires a well-defined form of exercise. Exercises such as polymetrics and ballistics can increase leg muscle power. The authors emphasize the importance of further research to expand what they did in this study, including expanding the sample size, other influencing variables, and the role of teachers and trainers in Pencak Silat learning. This needs to be done in depth to validate the results of this study.

| Political Decentralization and the Emergence of the Local State Capture: Lessons from Bengkulu, Indonesia | Author : Panji Suminar | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The local state capture phenomenon becomes very interesting if it is associated with the macro state capture framework that has begun to develop in the last two decades. A more multifaceted political approach is needed because state erosion is a political problem, not just an economic one. By referring to the political ethnographic tradition, this study describes how the complexity of relations between local economic, political, and ruling elites leads to the emergence of local state capture and the scope of its power. This study concludes that the weathering or weakening of formal government functions is not the source of the emergence of the local capture phenomenon. The growth of local state capture is more owing to the one-of-a-kind interaction between local political and economic actors and the ruling elite since the direct election of regional leaders takes place. This elite collaboration results from the emergence of a local oligarchic pole controlling local resources. The initiation of relations between the economic and political elite and the ruling elite is not only because of economic spheres but because they want to be part of the rulers closest political circle of power.

| High Impedance Fault Detection and Location in the Nigerian 330 kV Transmission Network Using Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System | Author : Ayokanmi Emmanuel Oduleye, Imo Edwin Nkan, Ekom Enefiok Okpo | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Fundamentally, the occurrence of high impedance fault (HIF) can be established when an energy filled conductor contacts a semiconductor. The occurrence of HIF can be described to be subtle and disastrous as it results to low current signal and a signal voltage arc if undetected and without implementation of protective measures, leads to the damage of the power system equipment and in many cases fire outbreak. In this study, the occurrence of HIF on the south-south region of Nigerian 330kV transmission line was studied with the data utilized obtained from the Nigerian control center (NCC) Osogbo. The data obtained was modeled in simulink and the outcome at normal condition was obtained. The transmission line distance was split into 4 points with the current signal at each point generated in simulink and exported to the Matlab file. The data in Matlab file was split to train, test and validate at 70%, 15% and 15% respectively. The data analysis performed was sent to Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) with the current signal at normal condition and at 3-phase HIF was used as input data while the split distance was implemented as the target data to the model. The effectiveness of the model in detecting and locating HIF was obtained and analyzed in a comparative plot of the location distance. From the results presented, the highest error deviation for fault location with ANFIS was 10%. Hence, it was concluded that ANFIS model had a satisfactory outcome in HIF detection and as such should be utilized for the HIF detection and location.

| Modern Management Intelligence Competitive Strategies and Organizational Performance | Author : IYAMABHOR Martins, Ekpeni Perpetual Ogechukwu, AWOSIGHO Onome Precious, Ubogu Efedirin Oghenekevwe | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study evaluates the impact of Modern Management Competitive Intelligence Strategies (MCCI Strategies) on the performance of selected telecommunication firms. The construct of MMCI Strategies, which includes both technological intelligence and strategic intelligence, is the independent variable of the study. The dependent variable, organizational performance, is the primary data collected from 130 staff members and customers. A total of 125 sets of questionnaire were administered, resulting in a total of 125 retrieved (96.2%), with 5 rejected. Correlation and multiple regression analysis were employed as the primary analytical tools. Findings demonstrate the importance of technological intelligence opportunity for business competitive advantage. This is confirmed by the findings of the study by Venter et al. (2014). Modern management competitive intelligence (MCCI) strategy is better suited to predicting a firms future performance by speaking directly with competitors, suppliers and regulators, and even customers. Competitive intelligence provides insight into what groups are actually intending to do, as opposed to predictions based on historic data. The study recommends that a modern MCCI strategy should have a singular purpose - to develop strategies and tactics to move market share, gainfully and consistently, from a particular competitor to the company, as the foundation for modern MCCI strategies lies in managerial decisions about how to position a business to maximise the value of capabilities that set it apart from its competitors.

| Wetlands or Wastelands: A Water Resource in Crises. Assessing the Levels of Pollution and Degradation in the Fosu Lagoon in Ghana | Author : John Aloba Atubiga, Patrick Assibi Atubiga, Lincoln Tei Nyade, Evelyn Owusu-Yeboah,Alobit Baba Atubiga | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Coastal lagoons and water resources provide numerous services to communities which are situated within their catchment area. These services ranges from food production to cultural heritage. This has made demand for them to increase thereby putting pressure on the resources. However, within the last few decades most lagoons have been turn into wastelands instead of servicing as a wetlands. Most of these lagoons have degradation by for settlement and polluted by industrial and domestic waste. One of such lagoon in Ghana which is under threat from human activities is the Fosu lagoon. This study therefore investigate the levels of degradation and pollution of the Fosu lagoon and how such incident could affect the livelihood of people who depend on the lagoon. The study employed questionnaire in the data collection process in four communities using a sample size of 40. Some respondents were also selected for the in-depth interview. The interview comprises fishermen, EPA etc. The data was analyzed using SPSS for the quantitative data and content analysis for the qualitative data. Result were generated in a form of frequency tables and charts. From the result obtained, it was observed that the lagoon has witnessed a decline in size and vegetative cover. This is attributed to mostly anthropogenic activities. As a result, it has affected the services provided by the lagoon which has led to loss of biodiversity as well as loss of livelihood. It is recommended that measures should be put in place to stop all forms of activities within the lagoon catchment area in order to restore the ecological integrity of the lagoon.

| An Underdeveloped Political Thought | Author : Keramatollah Rasekh | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The theoretical basis for this essay is the basic idea of the sociology of knowledge, which I described in my previous work (Rasekh, K., 2000:10-22). It is hypothetical to assume that Iran is an underdeveloped country. On this basis, I try to prove that there is a link between social relations, (here: Iran), on the one hand, and the political thinking of a social group, the Iranian intellectuals, in a certain period, on the other. I have divided the development of political thinking of Iranian intelligentsia into three periods: the period of "reformers" (1811-1906), that of "modernists" (1906-41) and that of "intellectuals" (1941-79). This division corresponds to three periods of Iranian history in the last two centuries: the first period coincide the 19th Century. This period is called "the era of reformers." The era of the "modernists" covers the first half of the 20th Century. Finally, the era of "intellectuals", the period between World War II and 1979. The hypothesis is that the group, which originally was concerned with the national "progress" became an obstacle against the democratization process of the country. This thought will be called the "underdeveloped political thought", henceforth. The political thinking, whose main characteristic was the claim for monopoly of power. This is the dialectic of "underdevelopment".
