Evaluating the Impact of Public Relations on Corporate Image: A Case Study of ZESCO Limiteds Customer Service and Image-Building Strategies in Lusaka District | Author : Ginah Mudenda , Chrine, C. Hapompwe | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This research investigates the efficacy of public relations (PR) in shaping an organisations corporate image, focusing on Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (ZESCO), a critical public power utility company in Zambia. Despite ZESCOs pivotal role in generating, transmitting, distributing, and supplying electricity, it faces significant challenges in meeting demand, managing loads, and addressing stakeholder concerns, resulting in a PR crisis threatening its brand reputation. The study objective is to assess public perception of ZESCO and its impact on corporate image, evaluate how ZESCO employs PR to build its image, critically analyse the effectiveness of PR activities, and propose a sustainable PR model for enhancing corporate image. Adopting a positivist paradigm, the research viewed reality as objective and measurable through empirical methods, while the interpretivist paradigm was also incorporated to ensure a balanced view of findings. The positivist approach was supported using quantitative data and systematic analysis to evaluate PR effectiveness at ZESCO. The study targeted about 380 employees from ZESCOs headquarters in Lusaka, with 195 as the ultimate sample size, using Taro Yamanes formulae. Random and purposive sampling techniques were used. Data collection combined quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, providing a comprehensive view of PR performance. Public perception of ZESCOs PR efforts was slightly above average, with 46.7% of respondents agreeing that PR was good, but 40% expressed disagreement, highlighting room for improvement. Respondents largely felt that ZESCOs PR activities were good (60%), although 13.3% rated them as poor, and 20% considered them very good. Despite the positive views, 80% agreed that the PR activities were professional, though improvements in resources, training, and technology were necessary to achieve an ideal standard. The study revealed that while 80% of respondents felt the PR activities were well-implemented, 13.3% believed the efforts were poor, indicating that stakeholder expectations were not fully met. Stakeholder engagement was rated "good" by 66.7% of respondents, suggesting that although efforts were in place, there was significant room for improvement in engaging stakeholders effectively. A large portion (93.3%) of respondents recognised that ZESCOs PR efforts faced challenges, including frequent power outages, misinformation, infrastructure issues, and communication barriers during crises such as load shedding. The study concluded that ZESCOs PR environment was not conducive to optimal performance, underscoring the need for improved PR structures and management support. There was strong support for improving ZESCOs PR, with 73.3% of respondents agreeing that PR efforts needed significant enhancement. This highlights the need for a more robust and adaptable PR model to address existing gaps. Furthermore, 93.3% of respondents acknowledged the potential to enhance ZESCOs image through strategic PR, indicating that such a model could significantly improve its corporate image. These results indicated that while PR was perceived as slightly above average, substantial room for improvement existed. The findings further indicated the ineffectiveness of PR activities. The study concluded that ZESCOs PR environment was not conducive to optimal performance, highlighting the need for improved PR structures and management support. Recommendations include enhancing PR support through increased resources and training, separating PR from Marketing and Corporate Affairs to reduce conflicts, and advocating for professional reforms. Policy implications stress the importance of investing in PR to address stakeholder concerns and improve overall service quality. By implementing these recommendations, ZESCO could significantly enhance its PR effectiveness, bolster its corporate image, and better manage operational challenges. This research underscores the critical role of a robust PR strategy in shaping corporate image and stakeholder relations, offering actionable insights for ZESCO to improve its PR practices and organisational outcomes. |

| QR Code Integration in Retail Pharmacy: A Service Quality Framework Analysis using PLS-SEM on Customer Outcomes | Author : Catrina Mae S. Tulinao , Nelson C. Bool , Dante R. Garcia | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study critically examines the influence of QR code integration within the retail pharmacy context on key performance metrics, including service quality, store attributes, waiting time, customer satisfaction, trust, and repurchase intention. Employing partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), this research analyzed data from customers to elucidate the underlying interdependencies of variable and service delivery outcomes. Instrumental to the analysis is the assurance of minimal collinearity, as evidenced by the Inner VIF values consistently falling below the threshold of 3, thereby confirming the reliability of the estimated model. Empirical findings indicate that QR code deployment exerts a statistically significant positive effect on service quality (ß = 0.43, p < 0.001), store attributes (ß = 0.45, p < 0.01), and waiting time (ß = 0.38, p < 0.001), collectively accounting for 52% of the variance in customer satisfaction (R² = 0.520). Moreover, customer satisfaction emerged as a pivotal mediator, robustly influencing trust and repurchase intention, with indirect pathways and direct effects substantiating its role in shaping customer loyalty. Although the variance explained by trust is modest (R² = 0.123), the cascading effect on repurchase intention (R² = 0.332) underscores the systemic importance of a holistic digital integration strategy. This study contributes to the extant literature by delineating the multifaceted impact of digital tools in healthcare service environments and underscores the necessity for comprehensive infrastructural support to fully harness the potential of QR code technology. |

| The Fintech Frontier: The Impact of Digital Banking on Palestines Financial Future | Author : Mohammed Bayyoud , Firas S. Q. Barakat , Nermeen Ahmad Sayyad | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Technologies has the capacity to improve financial inclusion and provide access to financial services in Palestine. The study examines mobile phone ownership, internet accessibility, and FinTech literacy as factors influencing digital banking adoption in Palestine, employing logistic regression, chi-square tests, and random forest classifiers. The logistic regression model indicates that mobile phone owners and internet users are more inclined to utilize digital banking services. Financial literacy and consumer education are essential for FinTech adoption, as is awareness. The Chi-Square test reveals no significant correlation between digital banking usage and geographic region, indicating that location does not substantially influence adoption. The Random Forest model effectively predicts digital banking adoption across three consumer segments: early adopters with high technological access, moderately educated users with limited internet connectivity, and individuals with low digital literacy and technology access. The report advocates for policies aimed at enhancing mobile phone accessibility, internet infrastructure, and financial literacy to foster inclusive digital banking in Palestine. In summary, while digital banking holds the potential to transform Palestinian financial services, it must address technical, educational, and regulatory challenges. This research provides policymakers, financial institutions, and regulators with actionable insights to enhance financial inclusion and the advancement of digital banking in Palestine. |

| CEO Celebrity on Firm Value | Author : Nur Muhammad , Payamta Payamta , Doddy Setiawan , Y Anni Aryani | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The celebrity status accorded to CEOs by leading business media describes executives who successfully lead high-performing firms (Hayward et al., 2004; Wade et al., 2006). This status includes high public attention and positive emotional responses from stakeholders, and is reinforced by the media (Rindova et al., 2006). Celebrity CEOs are considered an intangible asset that provides benefits such as good corporate prospects, investor confidence, attraction of quality employees, and improved stock market performance (Fanelli & Grasselli, 2006; Fombrun, 1996). Although this status provides personal benefits to the CEO, such as higher compensation and good job prospects, failure to maintain outstanding performance may result in a rapid loss of these benefits. Celebrity CEOs tend to manage stakeholder impressions to maintain their status and future benefits. Firm value plays a crucial role in determining the companys stock price as well as the level of investor satisfaction. Noerirawan (2012) defines firm value as the condition achieved by the company as a result of its business performance and strategy, which not only shows the companys performance but also its future prospects. |

| Price Premium Acceptance for Organic Food: A Behavioral Economics Analysis of Consumer Decision-Making in Vietnams Emerging Market | Author : Trong Nghia BUI | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study investigates the complex relationships between perceived value and price premium acceptance in organic food consumption, with particular focus on the mediating role of trust in organic certification and the moderating effect of cultural value orientation. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from organic food consumers through a structured questionnaire, and structural equation modeling was employed to test the hypothesized relationships. The findings reveal that trust in organic certification partially mediates the relationship between perceived value and price premium acceptance, while maintaining a significant direct effect. Cultural value orientation significantly moderates the relationship between perceived value and trust in organic certification, with stronger effects observed in collectivistic cultural contexts. The results demonstrate that consumers with higher levels of collectivistic orientation show a more pronounced relationship between perceived value and trust in certification systems. This research contributes to the literature by providing a more comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms through which perceived value influences price premium acceptance in organic food markets, particularly highlighting the crucial role of certification trust and cultural values. The findings offer valuable insights for practitioners in developing culturally adapted marketing strategies and emphasize the importance of building trust in certification systems. For policymakers, the results underscore the significance of maintaining robust certification systems while considering cultural contexts in promoting sustainable consumption behavior. |

| Gross Profitability and Momentum: Evidence from India | Author : Priya Gupta , Valeed Ahmad Ansari | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study investigates the joint impact of an investment strategy that integrates gross profitability and the 52-week high price indicator within the context of the Indian stock market. This study uses an empirical approach commonly found in asset pricing literature. The analysis incorporates data from October 2002 to September 2022. Firms are classified into tercile portfolios according to their profitability and momentum metrics, and their overall performance is assessed using an independent double-sorting methodology. The empirical analysis presents results for both value-weighted and equally weighted portfolio returns. A combined long-short strategy yields an equally weighted monthly return of 0.32%, accompanied by a corresponding Fama-French alpha of 1.08%. The equally weighted return is approximately 1.79 times greater than that of the standalone profitability strategy and nearly equivalent to that of the standalone 52-week high-momentum strategy. This highlights the enhanced performance of the combined approach relative to the individual strategies, particularly in terms of risk-adjusted returns. In recent years, increasing attention has been paid to multifactor investment strategies. This study demonstrates that integrating two significant factors, profitability and momentum, enhances portfolio performance. The first study to investigate the synergistic effects of combining profitability and momentum, offers empirical evidence supporting the superior outcomes of such a strategy. However, this area remains underexplored, particularly in the context of the Indian market. |

| Assessing the Necessity of GAAR In Indonesia: A Comparative Evaluation of Global GAAR Frameworks and the Development of an Effective Statutory Model to Mitigate Tax Avoidance | Author : Alexander Ketut Wahyu Adiyanta | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This paper aims to identify the most appropriate General anti-avoidance rule (GAAR) to be adopted by Indonesia. It looks into the Indonesian legal framework, compares the GAARs in other countries, and discusses various jurisprudential decisions to measure the effectiveness of the GAARs of other jurisdictions. In doing so, this paper simultaneously contributes to academic literature and Indonesian taxation policy by offering technical recommendations to Indonesias government to promote and support the fairness and integrity of its tax system and discourage the abuse of avoidance measures by its taxpayers. After a thorough review of Indonesias tax laws and rules, it is shown that the current specific anti-avoidance rules (SAARs) and the limited application of the substance-over-form principle are inadequate in addressing the rampant use of tax avoidance practices of Indonesian taxpayers. To bridge this gap, a statutory GAAR primarily applicable to corporate taxpayers is proposed. The proposal adopts the pre-determination of whether a scheme falls within the purview of GAAR, a lower GAAR threshold for transactions involving corporate taxpayers, and the institution of an independent GAAR panel. |
