| Notary Efforts in the Prevention of Money Laundering | Author : Hikmah Rizkayanti Rahmat , Helmi , Mispansyah | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In addition to having rights and obligations as stipulated in the Notary Office Law, notaries are also given additional
obligations in the context of preventing and eradicating money laundering, namely as reporting party and must report deeds that
tend to be a process of money laundering. However, there is a legal issue of conflicting norms because as we know that a Notary is
obliged to maintain the confidentiality of the deeds of service users. So that the purpose of this legal scientific research article is to
find out whether all deeds must be reported by a Notary in the prevention of Money Laundering Crimes and how the position of a
Notary as a reporter is seen from the point of view of the principle of confidentiality in his position. The results of this legal scientific
research article state that first, Deeds that must be reported by a Notary to the authorized official are the Financial Transaction
Reports and Analysis Center, namely Sale and Purchase Agreements, Deeds of Sale and Purchase of Shares, Deed of Sale and
Purchase of Assets, Deed of Establishment of a Limited Liability Company, Deed of Binding of Sale and Purchase, Deed of
Establishment of Foundations, Deed of Establishment of Cooperatives, also Authorization of Selling and Authorization of Directors,
which are in essence closely related to the crime of money laundering. Second, the principle or principle of secrecy as stipulated in
Article 16 paragraph (1) letter f does not have absolute force, because there is a norm which explains that "unless the law determines
otherwise". Notaries are expected to be able to identify authentic deeds that have a high risk or tendency of money laundering and
for deeds that have allegations of money laundering. Notaries are expected not to hesitate to report to Indonesian Financial
Transaction Reports and Analysis Center or INTRAC to prevent money laundering |

issuance of multiple certificates in the Denpasar city land office. The formulation of the problem in this thesis research is 1) How
is the responsibility of the Denpasar City Land Office due to the issuance of multiple certificates? 2) How is the disclosure of
disputes revealed the existence of double certificates in the Denpasar city land office? As an analytical knife to discuss this matter,
the Theory of Legal Certainty, Authority Theory, Law Enforcement Theory, and Dispute Resolution Theory is used and uses the
Statute Approach, case approach, fact approach, and historical approach. The conclusion of this research is that the form of
responsibility that can be carried out by the Denpasar City Land Office in the double certificate dispute in Denpasar City is that
the Land Office is absolutely responsible for being responsible both inside and outside the court either as a witness, defendant or

dismissal of Land Office staff who are negligent in carrying out their duties. And in the settlement of disputes over dual
certificates in the Denpasar City Land Office, the Denpasar City Land Office resolves through litigation (judicial) or uses nonlitigation channels, which non-litigation channels use arbitration, mediation, negotiation to the parties to the dispute and determine
an agreement between the parties. And if the case has used the trial route, the National Land Agency and the Denpasar City Land
Office will prioritize both parties to the dispute, especially for those who are declared losers in the trial and can be canceled
certificates that are proven to be administratively defective or deliberately re-registered. |

| Text Linguistics and the Paradigm of Concept | Author : Narmin Arif Ahmadova | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Text linguistics, which is one of the relevant fields of linguistics in our modern times, was born in the 20s of the 20th century and began to be formed in the 50s and 80s. As the name suggests, the main research object of text linguistics is the text itself. If we consider the word text in general, the word text can have two different meanings. That is, this word can be considered to be both in a broad sense - macrotext, and in its opposite narrow sense - microtext. The microtexts in a narrow sense combine to form macrotexts with a broad meaning. In this case, the concept of complex syntactic whole coincides with the concept of microtext. So, macrotexts are a collection of complex syntactic entities. While a single sentence expresses a complete idea, a complex syntactic whole expresses a complex idea, any particular information. Complex syntactic whole is a syntactic unit in which two or more sentences are connected by syntactic and formal relations. The group of sentences forming the basis of the text has been named by different scholars with different terms. For example, V.G. Kolshansky paragraph, I.R. Galperin, I.O. Moskalskaya discourse, K. Abdullayev complex syntactic whole, V. G. Admoni large syntactic whole and others used different terms. The term complex syntactic whole is more appropriate as the sentences in the text form certain unified whole. |

One of the law enforcers who carry out efforts to combat narcotics crime is the Attorney Generals Office. In carrying out the destruction of evidence obtained from narcotics crimes by the Prosecutor, the Prosecutor must comply with the procedures regulated by the laws and regulations in force in Indonesia as a legal basis for carrying out his roles and functions in order to achieve the goals and aspirations of eradicating narcotics and other addictive substances. The results of the study show that the prosecutors authority as the executor in carrying out the destruction of confiscated goods resulting from narcotics crime is that the prosecutor has state power that is independent from the influence of government power and other powers. The destruction of confiscated goods to prevent the re-circulation of narcotics crimes in the community is to destroy the confiscated goods in the form of narcotics. Obstacles in the implementation of the destruction of confiscated narcotics crimes so as to provide the possibility of misappropriation of narcotic evidence are seen in aspects of law enforcement, if fulfilled then the law regarding narcotics crimes in the scope of implementing the destruction of narcotics confiscated goods will be considered to have been effective. |
| Short-Term Brain-Based Growth Mindset Pilot Intervention Indicates Potential of Diversion Programs For Early Offenders in the Juvenile Justice System | Author : Meredith Hollender, B.S., Nancy Michael | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The goal of the present research was to determine if a Brain-Based Growth Mindset Pilot Intervention implemented in a juvenile detention facility could change a set of beliefs surrounding self-efficacy and knowledge over one’s brain. Previous studies show that growth mindset interventions are most effective with youth from low socioeconomic households, and targeting changes in beliefs is particularly effective during adolescence because of the developmental milestones that accompany puberty. Detained juveniles tend to be adolescent minorities of low-income backgrounds with a higher number of adverse childhood experiences. Twenty-six detained juveniles participated in the pilot intervention. The intervention consisted of four, 30-minute lessons on neuroanatomy of the brain, neural plasticity, emotional regulation, and long-term neuronal development. Impact of the intervention was quantified by a Brain Health Intervention Scale (BHIS). The scale consisted of 31 affirm/deny statements that were designed to measure the knowledge gained or opinion changed by the participant about the brain. Analysis of pre- and postintervention scores on the BHIS indicate that this pilot intervention was a success with significant increases in knowledge from preintervention scores to post- intervention scores. Success in the intervention was negatively correlated with the number of previous detainments. Interventions that occur within the context of juvenile detentions must occur early, before multiple detainments have made it difficult to reverse the fixed mindset in previously detained youth. Results add further evidence that successful growth mindset interventions can be low-cost and light-touch. Brain-based growth mindset interventions must be explored early on as a diversion alternative for juvenile offenders. |

| Factors Associated with the Persistence of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Benin | Author : Alphonse Mingnimon AFFO | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Female Genital Mutilations (FGM) officially constitute a particular form of Gender-Based Violence associated with certain socio-cultural groups and / or regions. They are generally practiced with the purpose to control women sexuality. In Benin, the political will materialized by restrictive legislation as well as multiple strategies and actions developed to eliminate FGM has not yet been able to curb their trend. On the contrary, they persist through more underground forms that are sometimes deterritorialized. This paper aims to examine factors underlying the persistence of FGM in Benin. The explanatory factors for the persistence of FGM were investigated through the analysis of a secondary data from the survey on the persistence of FGM in the four departments of North Benin conducted in 2020. Thus, Multiple Correspondence Analysis, Regression analysis and content analysis methods were used. Results show that parents who approved the continuation of FGM are mostly uneducated, live in rural areas in poor households, are unaware of the laws that prohibit FGM, praise the benefits of FGM and already have at least one “circumcised” daughter. Moreover, they consider the control actions ineffective. For them, FGM represents a symbol of identity that provides affection, security, protection, solidarity and survival to women. The analyses also show that the department, the ethnicity, household wealth index, the recognition of the advantages of FGM, the non-regret of having been affected by FGM and the ignorance of the laws against FGM perpetuate this phenomenon. From a reproductive justice perspective, it is possible to negotiate with the grassroot population the perpetuation of the symbolic and festive character of this identity rite by substituting any attack on the physical and psychological integrity of women with sexual and reproductive health education. |

| Unjust Treatment and Intolerance: The Dynamic of Religious Politics and Christianity in Türkiye | Author : Angel Damayanti, Sri Yunanto | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Türkiye was the centre of Christianity until the Ottoman Empire invaded Constantinople in the 15th century. The Ottoman Empire granted rights and protection to the Orthodox Christians, but major conversions to Moslems with political purposes occurred during this period. In 1924, Türkiye became a modern state based on the secularism of Kemal Ataturk and then controlled religious affairs. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has held power since 2003, amended the constitution and strengthened Islamic politics in Türkiye in the last decade, benefiting conservative Muslims. Therefore, this study aimed to elaborate on the impact of religious political dynamics in Türkiye from the Roman Empire to the Erdogan regime on Christianity in the country. The theory of religious politics and a qualitative methodology with a historical comparative approach was adopted. The result showed that the political transformation in Türkiye, from the Ottoman Era and Kemal’s secularism to Erdogan’s Islamism, did not change the political attitude of the Turkish government towards Christianity. Regrettably, Christians continue to experience unpleasant and discriminatory treatment from the government, particularly after the failed 2016 coup, due to the perception that Christians are often associated with the interests of the US and Western countries. |

Inductive thematic analysis highlighted the need to adopt a socio-ecological approach which recognizes the influences of factors at the individual (i.e., developing ability and achieving personal goals), interpersonal (i.e., supportive peer relationships and effective coach-athlete relationship)and institutional (i.e., sense of community and a focus on developing psychosocial skills) levels. The findings from the present study can be used to inform coaches and national governing bodies on the importance of these factors, especially when considering the prioritisation of gymnasts ’psychological wellbeing in the context of elite sport. |
| Shared Decision-Making: A Phenomenological Study of Student Service Learning | Author : Thomas P. Werner, PT, MA, PhD, Mary Zadnik, ScD, MEd, OTR, Suzanne Trotter, PT, ScD | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The concept of collaborative shared decision-making began with the quality assurance and research efforts associated with the late 1970’s effort of the United States of America President Jimmy Carter. The value of service-learning has been well documented in medical and allied health education. Several studies have examined the cultural experiences and clinical reasoning abilities of persons involved in service-learning. What has not been well-examined is the concept of shared decision-making by those engaged in service-learning. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to identify how Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT) students defined shared decision-making while engaged in a weeklong international service-learning experience with an underserved population in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Through facilitated and recorded discussion, the researchers used qualitative methods to unearth the lived experience and shared decision-making of student participants during the daily service-learning activities. Concepts related to a shared decision-making definition evolved during the week of service-learning for these students. Thoughtful reflection identified processes whereby collective problem-solving contributed to both student experiential learning while addressing the broader needs of the client and the underserved population. Participants defined shared decision-making as a collaborative and interprofessional experience. The beliefs and values of team members, including the patient/client, were found to be influential and relevant to the definition. |

| The Emergence of Different Sustainable Development Approaches According to Environmental Ethics Theories | Author : Recep KÜLCÜ | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :In recent years, population growth, changes in consumption patterns, urbanization, industrialization, and structural changes in agricultural production have brought about various environmental problems worldwide. At the core of these issues lies the significant impact of viewing nature as a resource repository and a dumping ground for waste in production processes aimed at satisfying increasing consumption. Humanity in the twentieth century came to terms with the fact that these problems also threatened its own existence. Global risks that began with pollution from waste sources and thinning of the ozone layer in the twentieth century have made it imperative for governments to seek solutions beyond their borders in the twenty-first century, particularly with climate change and global warming. The sustainable development approach, under the leadership of the United Nations, has come to the forefront in meetings addressing these challenges. Sustainable development, in essence, envisions restructuring todays activities in a way that they can also be carried out by future generations. However, the fundamental cause of environmental problems is the uncertainty of human domination in human-environment relationships. Measures taken without ethical scrutiny in this context are only aimed at addressing current problems. This study interprets the sustainable development approaches that have emerged in the quest for global solutions to environmental problems through various environmental ethics theories and discusses their theoretical foundations. Within the scope of this study, sustainability approaches are interpreted according to different environmental ethics theories, and different attitudes toward certain environmental problems are attempted to be revealed. |

| Legal Consequences of not Attaching Fingerprints to Minuta to Notary Deed | Author : Zata Yumni Maliha, Mohammad Effendy, Djoni Sumardi Gozali | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :An authentic deed drawn up by a Notary as a general or public official becomes very important and is needed by parties as appearers. One of the Notarys obligations regulated in Article 16 (1) c explains that the Notary is obliged to attach letters and documents as well as the fingerprints of the person appearing on the Minuta Deed. However, what becomes a legal issue in this scientific research article is what if the appearer does not want to affix or attach his fingerprints to the minutes of the deed because Article 16 (1) c still contains a vague norm. So that the purpose of this scientific research article is to analyze whether the Notary is personally responsible for not including fingerprints at the request of the appearer and whether not including the fingerprints of the appearer in the minutes results in the position of the notary deed as an authentic deed. The method in this scientific research article uses the method of normative legal scientific research articles. The results of the analysis of this scientific research article show that first, not attaching or affixing the appearers fingerprints to a minutes of notary deed based on the request of the appearer itself remains the responsibility of the notary. Second, not affixing the fingerprints of the appearer on the minutes of the Notary Deed theoretically does not have any effect on the validity, but based on the evidentiary side this can be a consideration for the judge to then abort the minutes of the Notary deed under the hand. So, it is necessary to revise the provisions related to fingerprints in the Notary Law with the aim of clarifying and it becomes necessary to explain in more detail and detail the mechanism of affixing or attaching fingerprints to the minutes of notary deed. |
