| Role of Students in Language Movement of Assam | Author : Jayanta Baruah | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :Student movement has been recognized as a universal phenomenon in recent times as
these movements have great impact on social, educational and political issues of the
whole world. The fact is that such movements have become more organized, have well
versed networking system. An analysis of student movements in both the developed
and developing nations not only focuses on the students and their movements as a
dynamic force for change, be it educational, social, economic or political but at times as
‘a reactionary force’ upholding traditional elements in the society as Altbach put it, and
in so doing reflects the larger social system of which the student community is an
integral part. As it is said that students of the world involve themselves to solve
problems in their respective societies, their interest is not confined to the campus
problems, it extends beyond the campus and includes the problems and issues of
general social and political importance.

| Market Need Assessment and Potential Income Generating Activity Survey Report of South Western of Ethiopia, Oromia Regional State, Bure Woreda | Author : Endale Alemu Hora | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :So as to achieve equitable national development, economically empowerment of
women whom are half of population is very decisive issue. To this effect in our Woreda,
DEC is playing an important role in strengthening our effort to increase the opportunities
for women economic empowerment and their livelihoods. Taking this opportunity, I
would like to appreciate the initiation and effort that DEC is being exerting so that
women in our Woreda actively participate in economy and generate their income which
will make them beneficiary from the fruit of their achievements. Accordingly, this market
assessment is very important for successful implementation of income generating
activities in our Woreda at least in the following way: Throughout our previous
experiences, IGAs are implemented in traditional way without prior need assessments.
As a result, in most cases they were started and fail resulting to be not successful. In
addition to this, the prevailing previous understanding about market and IGAs was very
limited, which led us to only focus on identical type of IGAs resulting to not responding
to market demand, low price, and failure. Therefore, this assessment will hopefully solve
this problem in the future. This assessment which focused on identification of our
Woreda market demand and opportunity, assure that based on really showing the
activities that have market opportunity which will increase the livelihood of our lowincome households especially to women. This is because it focused on locally available
resources, showed market gap in the Woreda, low startup capital, locally managed skill,
and needs small plot land as well. Therefore, if it is managed well, it can improve the
livelihood of our community and profitable for the beneficiaries.
