In this study, the education system in Cyprus during the Ottoman Period and the formal education institutions as the part of elementary schools, madrasas and outside of these, as being active as formal education institutions; mosques , dervish lodges, and libraries is tried to be addressed from different points of view (angles). Topics identified in this study, has been kept specific evaluation in terms of culture within in the historical process to determine what kinds of changes that occur and also the scope and limitations of the study has been one of the topics.

One of the most important scholars of 17th century, Davud-i Karsî wrote many treatises on different subjects. The book titled el-Îsâgucî el-Cedid ve’d-Durri’l-Ferîd is one of the remarkable works of him. In this treatise, Karsî used Ebheri’s methodology on Isagogie. But, while Ebheri discusses the basic issues of logic and uses quite short and abstract terms in his book titled Isagogie, Karsî elucidates the issues of logic in detail and generally support them with examples. Accordingly, Karsî’s Isagucî-i Cedid can be accepted as one of the basic textbook of logic which can always be referred, but rather as a short logic text.

The Relations between the Muslims and Dhimmis (non-muslims) and Their Analysis from the Point of View of Islamic Law of Property and Obligations According to Cyprus Qadi Records between 17th and 18th Centuries. This study aims to analyze Muslim and Dhimmi relationship in Cyprus within Islamic law of property and obligations in the light of 17th and 18th century Cyprus qadi records. The most suitable branch of law is law of property and law of obligation to observe Muslim-Dhimmi relationship based upon Islamic court records in Cyprus of Ottoman era. Hence the record of property and obligation law constitute %81 of Islamic law court records of 17th and 18th century. These documents are important in terms of Islamic law practices and also in terms of economic relationship of Muslim-Dhimmi communities. Thus this study presents Muslim-Dhimmi relationship regarding to Islamic property law and law of obligations, the solutions of issues related to these Islamic law branches. Also this study analyzes the relevance of these solutions to Islamic law. The resources of this study contain 22 qadi record notebooks which cover 17th and 18th centuries and classical and modern Islamic law literature.

In this study it will be focused on the geopolitical and strategic importance of Cyprus in Turkish History. At the same time, because of the island’s position in the international socio-political arena, Turkey, Greece and the UK’s relations will be examined in the realm of sociological aspects of social mobility experienced across these countries. With the passing of the island dominated by Turkey, it will be examined the sociological causes of political and diplomatic aspects of international intrigue endless ambitions of the island. This study will focus on the causes of the EU and the US tolerance policy against Enosis ideas and practices. Also in this study, which has influence in the island guarantees as required by the treaty, it will be analyzed sociological and psychological causes of feeling resentment against the Turkish military. In addition, Greece’s diplomatic moves of the underlying causes of the principle of self-determination of communities living in Cyprus application request will be considered. Cyprus has drawn the attention of many countries with great strategic and geopolitical position as of today is still like it was yesterday. And finally, in this study, the sociopsychological causes of negative behavior exhibited against the Turkish community of European countries will be discussed.

In this article, it will be examined the problems of translations of moods of “ism al-fâil” (that is a technical word in Arabic languace means “agent”) into Turkish. It can be said, there are some serious problems concerning the translations of these moods into Turkish, especially in Quran. In this Study, firstly, we try to pick out the problem, then we try to show how translations of these terms should /shouldn’t be done.

The vast majority of studies on the Mehmet Akif, focused on his life, character, literary side, political opinions, islamic perspective and on the meaning of the Qur’an, but his views on the understanding and interpretation of the Qur’an - some studies except- is not considered as much depth. Akif, as well as a poet and a strong character but also a poet Qur’an, classical and technical sense if not a scholar and commentator, he learned tafsir, fiqh, hadith and as theology basic Islamic sciences. Especially he is a Qur’an scholar, that have distinguished with knowledge of Arabic that the language of the Qur’an, have taken the source of the existence of the Qur’an and Islam, have organized basic codes of his thought as a focus on the Qur’an, have seen the development and unification of Muslims in the correct understanding of the Qur’an, and have tried to interpretation some verses of the Qur’an in this direction. In addition to this, Mehmet Akif is that defending one of the pioneers of the idea that based on the Qur’an the idea of breeding and renewal. Therefore, his understanding and interpretation of the Qur’an bears little difference from the classical exegetical tradition in this respect. Hence, know the points highlighted of Mehmet Akif’s interpretation of the Qur’an, in a sense, is to know contemporary tafsir’s which based on points. In other words, it will give some tips on the way to knowing some basic code is based on a modern interpretation of mind. In this article, Mehmet Akif Ersoy’s various tafsir writings, tafsir translations, sermons, poems and articles of movement, we will investigate the issue of how to follow a method to interpretation of the Qur’an and on the some concrete examples we will explore to Mehmet Akif’s role and position of the school of sociological tafsir approach.

Stoic school is one of the most poignant schools in the history of philosophy. This school, which flourished in scientific world approximately six century, taught many philosophers like Zeno, Cleanthes, Chrysippus, Diogenes, Panaetius, Posidonius, Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius. The basic issues discussed in Stoic school had many impact on both Islamic world and other scientific circles. For instance, we see that Islamic philosophers such as Farabi and Yahya b. Adiy knew the Stoic philosophy and benefited from it in the fields of logic, ethics and law. In this study, influences of Stoic philosophy on Islamic thinkers in certain fields are scrutinized.

Prophets assigned to respond to the educational needs of human beings and they are chosen messengers from among people. The last link of this assignment is prophet Muhammads life and behavior models are full many examples of people on the education and training. His words, actions, lifestyle, ethics, value-laden applications, human relations, attitude on social life and perspective to the other provides information about the general characteristics of Islams educational principles and methods. It is possible to observe on the life of the prophet Muhammad that many practical examples of the principles and methods of educational science offer us such as individual differences in education, gradualism, timing, from concrete to abstract, love, expression method, questions and answers method, sample making, discussion method in the modern period. In this context, the research to life of prophet Muhammad with related aspects both will have a handle on his sublime personality and educators personality and it will guide religious educators in todays about relations with their counterparts.

In this research translation and assesment of Ibn Taymiyyahs letter which has been written to Cyprus king has been handled. This research origines from Ibn Taymiyahs Er-Risaletul Kubrusiyye book that there is no doubt that is his book. In our research, primarily we focused on these issues: a short part of Ibn Taymiyahs life, similarities between letter which has been sent to Cyprus king by Ibn Taymiyah and his book el-Cevabüs-Sahih limen beddele dinel-Mesih, context of letter and translation of his letter. In this article, there are some considerations about reason of why this letter has been written and also context of letter have been carried out.
