Effects of Social Media to the Political Attitude that Counters Misinformation | Author : Shaira Michaela D. Umali, Ruby R. brion | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :This study aimed to determine the effects of social media on the political attitude of senior high school learners, particularly in countering political misinformation. Using a descriptive correlational study method, it involved 160 senior high school students from Felix Amante Senior High School, during the academic year 2022-2023. Adapted survey questionnaires were employed to measure the data and underwent internal and external validation through the help of a panel of examiners and a group of teachers. Furthermore, the results revealed that social media plays a significant role in shaping students political attitudes, with both affordances and misinformation contributing to their perception of politics. Overall, the findings suggest that social media has a significant impact on the political attitudes of senior high school students, which underscores the importance of educating students on how to critically evaluate the information they encounter on social media.

Many wives around the world have endured decades of suffering from husbands who abuse their wives and children when they get home drunk. Remarkably, the majority of women stay away from expressing their disapproval and instead timidly adapt to their husbands behaviors. The present investigation is part of the attempt to understand the factors influencing mental health of women in Kerala. The study was conducted in two phases. In the first phase a quantitative survey among 300 women to assess the mental health status of women was conducted. Fifty women, 25 each with the highest and lowest mental health scores in the survey were selected for the second phase of the study. The factors influencing mental health of women were explored using in depth unstructured interviews with the 50 women followed by thematic analysis. This study clearly demonstrates how alcohol consumption by husbands has an impact on women, their kids, and families as a whole. Women who live with alcoholic husbands have heavy mental stress and they face several forms of economic, emotional, sexual and physical violence in their day to day lives. |

The study quantitatively analyzed the influence of affective commitment on the job performance of administrative staff in tertiary institutions in Anambra State. One research question and one null hypothesis were tested at a 0.05 significant level, guiding the study. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design with a population of 544 administrative staff in tertiary institutions in Anambra state studied without sampling. A 10-10-item questionnaire titled "Influence of Affective Commitment on the Performance of Administrative Staff (IAC-PAS)" was used for data collection. The face and content validity of the instrument were determined by two experts in business education, measurement, and evaluation. Trail testing was used to establish the instruments reliability, and data were analyzed using Cronbach alpha reliability, which yielded a coefficient value of .81. The researchers, with the help of three research assistants, administered copies of the questionnaire to the respondents. Out of the 544 copies of the questionnaire distributed, 528(97%) copies were correctly filled and returned and used for data analysis. Statistical mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research question and determine the homogeneity of the respondents ratings, and a t-test was used to test the null hypothesis. Findings revealed that administrative staff agree that affective commitment influences their performance in tertiary institutions in Anambra State. Age did not significantly influence respondents mean ratings on the influence of affective commitment on the performance of administrative staff in tertiary institutions in Anambra State. Based on the studys findings, the researchers concluded that building a working environment that promotes affective commitment can improve the performance of administrative staff of tertiary institutions in Anambra State to a very high level. Therefore, it was recommended that the management of tertiary institutions in Nigeria provide regular organizational support programs for administrative staff to better develop their personal and career objectives and improve their affective commitment and job performance. |

From the results of observations and interviews, it was found that most of the teachers have implemented reading and writing literacy for 15 minutes before learning begins, used sources and image media to help and facilitate students in understanding the material read and written, guided and trained and guided students directly in reading and writing, created reading and writing habits during the learning process. |

This study examines the financial consequences of marine pollution in Nigeria and promotes the implementation of sustainable policy measures to reduce its negative repercussions. The literature study explores the historical backdrop of marine pollution in Nigeria, examining existing patterns, trends, and case studies that emphasize the economic repercussions, both direct and indirect. The theoretical basis comprises economic ideas that are pertinent to environmental deterioration, offering a conceptual framework for comprehending the economic consequences of marine pollution. Based on previous literature, this paper examines the current condition of marine pollution in Nigeria, with a specific focus on its economic consequences. This section combines case examples and research data to emphasize the pressing need to tackle the problem. The third part provides a thorough analysis of current policy initiatives, assessing both international and national frameworks, highlighting effective strategies in other countries, and detailing the problems and constraints involved. Ultimately, the study underscores the crucial need of sustained policy interventions, providing suggestions for successful execution. This research adds to the discussion on reducing the economic consequences of marine pollution in Nigeria and other places by promoting a comprehensive strategy.

The study had a sample size of 364 participants, and the instruments employed were the teachers welfare questionnaire and the mathematics BECE). An estimate of dependability, using the Cronbach alpha approach, was obtained, and the resulting reliability index was 0.78. The research questions were addressed by calculating the coefficient of determination using Pearsons product moment correlation. Based on this data, it was determined that there is a favorable association between teacher welfare, decent salary payment, teacher advancement, and teacher incentives and student learning outcomes in Junior Secondary Schools in Delta South Senatorial Districts of Delta State. A joyful teacher with first-class welfare package will increase their drive which will aid good outcome. Based on the study findings, it was recommended that teachers welfare should be prioritized to sustain learning outcome of pupils due to high decline in teachers population, Educational stakeholders should prioritize teachers welfare as an indispensable factor that power students learning outcome in schools, car and housing loans should be made available to teachers to encourage the present and future generations to take teaching as a first choice.

Stigma and lack of protection exacerbate the situation. This article examines the relationship between sexual violence and human rights in Indonesia, and explores solutions for building a future free from sexual violence. This research uses a sociolegal method (mix method) with statutory, conceptual, factual, sociological and comparative approaches. Primary data was obtained from field research in Bali, and secondary data from various sources. Sexual violence is a serious human rights violation, and states have an obligation to protect victims and enforce the law. Stigma and lack of access to recovery services hinder the fulfillment of victims rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and other human rights instruments affirm the right to security, freedom and dignity. Sexual violence violates these human rights principles. Collective efforts are needed to build an Indonesia free from sexual violence. These efforts include: Strengthening regulations and law enforcement. Increase public education and awareness. Building a support and recovery system for victims. Combat stigma and build positive narratives about victims. This research contributes to the understanding of the relationship between sexual violence and human rights in Indonesia, and offers solutions to build a better future for victims.

| Project READY PLUS+ as Key to the Enhancing of Reading Comprehension Skills of Grade 6 Learners: An Action Research | Author : Ginalyn G. Centeno | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract :The study primarily aimed to enhance the reading comprehension skills of Grade VI pupils during the SY 2022-2023 using the intervention program Project READY PLUS. It specifically aimed to identify the results of the pre-reading assessment of the Grade 6 pupils at the start of the SY 2022-2023; the results of the reading assessments of Grade 6 pupils after the reading intervention program; and the significant difference in the Grade VI pupils reading comprehension after the implementation of the reading intervention program. The study utilized the quasi-experimental research design particularly the one group pre-test post-test study. It was not only limited to slow-readers alone but more so focused on the enhancement of reading comprehension skill of 212 Grade VI pupils. Results revealed that the learners reading comprehension level was at Average before the conduct of the Project READY PLUS; the MPS of the participants went higher after the conduct of the reading intervention program and the students are now Moving Towards Mastery in terms of reading comprehension; and that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the learners. Therefore, the hypothesis “there is no significant difference in the reading comprehension skills of the Grade VI pupils before and after conducting the reading intervention program” is not sustained.
